I assume you lot actually have a plan to take care of whatever mission you have here? Perhaps now would be a good time to enact it, after what happened yesterday.
>>
>voxes the base at Watcher's Point
Has anyone seen the interrogator or her enforcer?
>>
>Still in that cave with Alice.
So... what now?
Thread title pic related.
>>
>>44874603
Took a Vendetta out on recon sir. Do you need to contact them?
>>
"Jackson said he had a way to save these people, but he never bothered to tell me what it was."

>Pulls out a lho-stick and lights it.

"Tell me, after all this, did we lose anyway?"

>His augmetic lungs filter out the lho-smoke, meaning that Greely is now effectively going without.
>>
>>44874611
Err.....suppose we can check if any of this equipment is usable? Weapon or two might be good....or perhaps the tank....
>Alice walks over to the weapons and stares at them idly.
>>
>>44874646
>Nods.
The tanks outside is full of dust but maybe...
>Opens the hatch to check the interior.
>>
>>44874635
>whispering
The astartes is making me uncomfortable.
>>
>>44874674

"He just had to kill a whole bunch of desperate civvies. Astartes or no, that's going to mess someone up."
>>
>>44874666
>Alice opens the Commander's hatch and drops into the turret.
Equipment seems intact.....power might be out, but that'll be a five minute fix, just need to find a toolkit so I can get to the engine.
>>
I have seen these threads before, could somebody tell me what the bloody hell is going on?
>>
Rolled 58 (1d100)

Just checking for heresy, don't mind me
>>
>>44874725
Short answer is that a Penal Regiment(That may or may not have been inducted by the Inquisition, as they are want to do) full of [strike]lunatics[/strike] unique Guardsmen goes about the Galaxy sorting fixing things and removing Chaos because everyone else is incompetent. Basically one can just make a character and do whatever they want. Orks or Necrons for example.

I could prepare a slightly longer version if you wish it so.

Also that picture is amazing.
>>
>>44874762
Thank you, yeah, I mean I know a lot about 40k lore, its just I never know how to contribute to the threads.
>>
>>44874725

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Campaign:Penal_regiment_designation_/tg/ Extra Heresy, that's what
>>
>>44874783
Just make whatever you wish and jump in, like I said, we've got/had Orks, Necrons, SoB's, Space Marine or two, whatever you fancy.
Oh and it's also not 100% serious, but at the same time not 100% comical either. Just...go nuts really.
>>
>>44874740
I found some heresy, just going to purge it and then I will be on my way
>>
>>44874824
Cool.
>>
>Finishes his morning prayers and starts to walk around the base.

Anything goes in the heresy wildride. People make a character and jump in just for the shits and giggles.

The tank's interior seems fine, old but fine...
>>
>>44874841
fukken saved
>>
>>44874841

[spoilers]Though Inquisitors themselves are usually NPC's, even if the characters are high-rank operatives. Gonna be in and out a lot during the AM today (EST)[/spoiler]
>>
Greeting human kin, how do you all do today on this fine evening?
>>
Right. What's the plan, Greely?
>>
>>44874841
Of course it's old lass, it's pre-Crusade.
>Toolkit in hand, Alice climbs out of the turret and starts to work on the engine.
Most of this stuff is too.
>>
>>44874903
You sure you know what you're doing with that? Maybe want to call a techpriest in or something?
>>
>>44874932
If you can find a Cogboy that won't try and chant at it out here then go ahead, I'd rather just fix it.
>Alice finishes with the work and replaces the cover.
Try the Engine will you? Should work now.
>>
>>44874874
Did- did Nyzart send another agent?
>>
>>44874966
I'm not sure we should be touching crusade era equipment without the supervision of the Adeptus Mechanicus, Alice...
>Kind of doesn't want to start the engine because of fear of it being possessed.
>>
>>44874972
Who is this Nyzart fellow, I only here to get information about hum-our social data.
>>
>>44874992
Wait, you're not a necron. What's going on?
>>
>>44874981
You know how the AdMech is lass, shouldn't be touching the bloody thing at all.
Just start the engine eh? You worry too much.
>>
>>44874898

"I don't know at this point. Chango just took out everyone Belk turned, and I recieved a comunique from Verasii saying a lot - but not all - of the heat he's putting on us is going to go away for a while. So we have breathing room to strategize."

"As to our current situation, I was following Jackson's lead but he's currently preoccupied with Anna being so - "

I have a baaaaad feeling about this...

>>
>sits out of the way of the others and starts cleaning the bayonet on the end of his shotgun

to be clear to all newcomers, Greely and Eta are away from the current planetary base, and Alice and LIX are in a cave somewhere.

>>44875091
I don't know how to do the spoilers and this is an experiment so I don't fuck it up later, saw this thread for the first time yesterday and had to get in.
>>
>Greely continues sifting through the ruin while Chango takes Rax back to base in his Stormtalon

"Everything I've seen says these people had no ulterior motive beyond mere survival. They were frightened and Belk's fellows exploited that."
>>
>>44875120
welcome aboard!
>>
>>44875036
>After a couple of moments of sputtering the engine 'roars' to life then starts idling.
That's how you do it! Lets see what else we can do.
>Alice climbs back onto the turret and drops in, then starts flicking through the systems.
Everything looks good....looks like we've got ourselves a working Tank.
>>
>>44875120
Congrats for successful spoiler.

If you're a newcomer you might want to check the wiki:

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Campaign:Penal_regiment_designation_/tg/

Might be a lil' bit outdated in terms of Events, That section's ussually updated at least once every month though.
>>
>>44875120

It may take a while for the people at base to start coming into the thread, and I'm going to be in and out throughout the morning and a bit beyond, depending
>>
>>44875134
>Sighs in relief.
Not possessed... good...

We still have your... "condition" to talk about though...
>>
>Urgent silence!!!!
>>
>>44875154
not to worry, I've to go to work soon anyway, I just wanted a 40k rp I could pop in and out of, plus try a character concept I have for Dark Heresy
>>
>>44875129
Did the Eldar leave anything behind? I can't imagine that this haemonculus could resist the opportunity to taunt us.
>>
>>44875120
Welcome aboard laddie! Threads are usually on Monday(As you seen) at 2PM GMT, although sometimes there are extra threads on the following days if needed.

>>44875165
Mhm.....very well.......talk about it, because I'm completely confused.
>>
>>44875208
Eldar? The tall, thin xenos? Pointy ears?
>>
>>44875223
Did... did you touch, wear or mark yourself with anything that seemed chaotic? I mean when the Tau sniper got you I wasn't sure I might had been hallucinating and didn't want to talk about it... but now after Amalek I pretty much have confirmation that something is going on... You were a literal mess of blood from beyond your hips...
>>
>>44875208

"Just the equipment they loaned these guys - well, what's left of it. He already delivered me a love letter earlier today in exchange for the volki-"

>Something catches greely's eye, something hollow and cylindrical, different from the few relics they left behind. He picks it up and begins inspecting it.

>>44875231
"Hey! You didn't go with Chango after all. "

>Smiles weakly

"Yeah. The ones with spikes on 'em."
>>
>>44875262
What did you find?
>>
"Valkyrie inbound on the 5x5"
>checks auspex
>checks coms
"lace up targets on the auspex"
" got an optimal loiter time of about 30 mikes, so make it snappy"
"so please advise"
>>
>>44875261
No I didn't, as far as I know and it wasn't that bad, was just a bloody kidney...and maybe a bit of liver damage. Bloody Medic has no idea what he's talking about.
>Alice again climbs out of the tank and drops down to walk towards a few weapons.
I don't know what's causing it but I'm fairly certain it's not Chaos.
>>
>>44875262
... Oh, those! Only time I saw one with the spikes still on was when it was taken to "cutter". Masters didn't like hidden weapons.
>>
>>44875322
I hope you're right... I'd...

From a professional perspective if it was Chaos... I'd have to...
>>
>Scratches at his arm uncomfortably, looks through his kit and stands up, wandering about the base trying to find anyone who might have some combat adrenals
>>
>>44875319

>Greely smiles wickedly.

"Looks like Belk won't get his prize after all."

>Greely puts the hollow cylinder over his left arm, and it slides along the grooves in his arm, positioning itself like a bracer.

>He presses a button on the device.

>Nothing happens.

>Another button.

>Nothing.

>The last button is pressed, and the brace slides out quickly, covering his hand and then some. A bunch of mechanical noises come from the device.

"Going to have to get used to that when I deploy this thing. Now let's see what it can do."

Trooper. Looking for something?

With respect sir, I was wondering if we would be getting any stimulants soon sir?
>>
>>44875373
I know lass, I know. And I wouldn't hold it against you.
Now, lets see what we've got he- Helloooo.....these are useful....
>Alice lifts a Stalker Bolter from a crate and blinks a few times before offering it to LIX.
Here, take a look at this.

>He sighs and looks down.
I have some, if you need a fix, but I'll want something from you.

Come to services tomorrow.
>>
>cleaning his Sororitas flamer with lavish care
>finishes, tosses rag away

Throne above! I am so fucking bored!

Greely! When in Terra's tits are we gonna go kill something fun? If I'm a stormtrooper now I oughta earn my pay, yknow?
>>
>>44875465
>Has problems holding the weapon with a single hand despite it feels a lot lighter than she expected.
Hell this thing is... not as heavy as I expected... and heavily adorned, could it be master crafted?
>>
>Greely points the arm-cannon at a nearby boulder.

>A beam of energy comes out of it, and within 10 seconds, the boulder is a puddle of lava.

"Wow. I feel kind of light headed, but that was cool."

Always do sir, anything to get rid of these itches, the worst part is always the itches. Thank you sir.

>he pulls up his sleeves to expose his arm, which looks more like a left over pincushion now.
>>
>>44875515
Most likely lass, probably for an Imperial Army Officer, whoever the poor bugger was obviously had a taste for fine weapons. Almost feel bad about lifting it.
>Alice lifts an equally Master Crafted Powersaber from the ground next to the crate and swings it a few times.
Not bad, think I'll.....hold onto this one...

Greely, Eta, and Rax are out in the desert right now. I have a little Deldar hunt sidequest for the afternoon, but this morning i'm gonna be in and out, till like 1-2pm EST

I know about the shakes, Trooper. And I know you probably won't listen, but there are ways to help get you off this stuff.

Huh, guess Greely is out now. Ah well.

>>44875499

That ain't normal!

>The hole closes

"THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING VOLCORP FOR ALL YOUR COMBAT NEEDS."

"I don't ..think it's self aware. I hope."

>The lava explodes, raining flames on nearby ground.

"Wow. Ok. No using this thing near friendlies. That's important to know."
>>
>>44875653
You want His truth, or a nice story? Because the truth doesn't speak too well about the situation.

Well now you sound like a Praetorian, but aye lass, you already have a sword and I already have a Stalker.

Dark age of Technology device, but basically it's a volkite armcannon courtesy of a now-dead Mechanicus

"VOLCORP VOLKITE BUSTER IS NOW IN SAFE MODE. YOU MAY NOW REMOVE THE WEAPON TO PERFORM MAINTAINANCE, OR PLACE WEAPON INTO RETRACTED MODE."

"Well, that solves that. I'll figure out how to remove it later. Come on, let's go back to base camp."

Heh heh, well my original regiment, the Catachan 79th, had been damn near wiped out. Rest of us got assimilated into this horrendously soft regiment. We did most of their fighting for them pretty much. Eventually they fell in action and I was the only Catachan left. Then in one battle against some Nids I killed a Carnifex by stabbing it in the face, routed the rest of the bugs. No big deal, just did my job. Well the general didn't think so. I was laid up in the medbay after that and he comes in all pompous to present me with lieutenants bars. So I threw an empty bed pan at him and yelled that I work for a living! He was so mad he didn't bother to bust me to private. Just got rid of me. And I was happy to go.

You're the expert. I leave the judgement up to you.
Would Jackson have access to Ministorium files?
>>44876524
A good idea. Stay vigilant, trooper. You never know when more chaos forces could pop up.
>>
>>44876562

>>

If he wants or needs something like that he'll get it, but if he has no reason to look at the files then he won't.
>>
>>44876615
Out of a job? Nah, not at all. You're as necessary as we Guardsmen are. Cause while Im an officer in the physical war against the Ruinous Powers, you're an officer in the spiritual war.
>>
>>44876573
Good on ye' lad. Oh, by the way, we've still got yer' tank on board the Penance if ye want her back.
I leave it up to you if the Slug has that Punisher Upgrade or not.

>>44876615
Aye sir, although I'd honestly be surprised if we warranted any more attention from those Heretical bastards. But we aren't trained to take maybe's into account.
>>
>>44876682
Oh! Emprah's balls, I'd forgotten, much obliged. We'll keep her up there for the time being. stick to battle cannon for now...
>>
>>44876325

I think you're quite strong, Alice... It's just that... this is so bizarre...
>>
>>44876724

>>
>>44876671
Well I'm off to train some men that show promise, Drop trooper 101. I'll have a proper fighting force in no time.

>>
>>44876671
That's all from me. May He watch over you, Lieutenant.

Strenght? You need train?

>Wada starts to smile, having already decided how to spent the rest of the Day.

Something I'll mention now as a courtesy. The Iron Warrior Tarax is still alive. Yes he was nicked by a hyperphase blade and lit the fuck up by lasfire, but was never confirmed as kill. So he fell into a chasm with his weapons and there's no telling when he may reappear...

Won't help, i'm afraid. My augs filter it out as poison.

The Dark Eldar, that's a long story. And it's one i've been trying to keep under wraps, but apparently acolytes talk like whores. The fewer people know about it, the fewer worrying about them coming from behind at any moment.

>Greely brings Gary up to speed on Belk and his Vendetta with Verasii, at least what he knows about it.

Alright, men. You're all the best of the worst. You've passed all the courses I've laid out for you so far, but Now we start the Drop Trooper section of the course. We begin drop practice tomorrow at 0800. Dismissed!
>they quickly salute then go off in small teams of five.
>Jackson looks very pleased at this

Well, that's the disagreement Jackson and I have. Jackson wants to go charging blind into fucking Commoragh, and I want to find his interests in the Materium and fuck with them and sabotage him until he gets so pissed off he comes for us. Of course, Haemonculus have a habit of not staying dead when they're killed, but at least we can send a message.
>>

>>
>>44877966

>>
>>44877973
Proper attitude, trooper. Service to He-Upon-The-Throne is what we all live for. Still, we also have our own stories in this life, our own paths that He sets us on. If you don't want to tell me yours, that's fine.
>>
>>44877994

"Where's Belk?"
>>
>>44877979
Well I had never seen you drive one... it was just curiosity... uh... thought of any name for the tank?
>>
>>44877966
Huh! Well I'd say we should do both. Scout the damn place first, gather intel, plan out, and bring down the fucking hammer of the Emperor on those degenerate xenos. Simple steps, few moving parts as possible. We'll kill the target, and we'll send a damn strong message to all Eldar.
>>
>>44878023
I mean no disrespect sir, I just don't really like thinking about the past and my original regiment isn't exactly the most popular
>he scratches at his arm uncomfortably

>>44878050
I never said I had a plan to save them. I said I had a way to detect corruption. The ones I saved were evacuated and deemed clean.

Belk? He's probably in Commoragh. I haven't had my sources actively looking for him yet.
But if we destroy his birthing pods he can't be reborn again. And where are those pods? In his spire in Commoragh, most likely near the top Floor 86 maybe. Somewhere around there
>>
>>44878060
Mhm.....well armoured vehicles are usually disliked by the enemy because....well they're actually a problem.....'Old Contemptible' perhaps?

>>44878167
Well. I get in contact with some old friends of mine and they get us a Dark Eldar raiding Skiff and some Dark Eldar armor. We'll be warriors of another powerful house so we shouldn't get much trouble at the gate and once inside we just need to place a beacon of sorts for our distraction. When Everyone is distracted we head to Belk's spire and destroy the pods and take any data that seems useful, maybe kill Belk if he's nearby.

>>44878208

ARRGGH! THIS IS HOPELESS!!! Why is it that the Tech priests and architects who design these damn places make it so hard to find the Regimental Offices! All I want to do is figure out this 4th degree Warp Fuckery that are my transfer orders... Is that honestly so hard?

At ease Trooper. To answer your question yes, I'm looking for the Regimental Offices here on base. Just for the record: I've been and I'm still working on a DE character for the past 4 weeks, might let it fall in commorragh if you guys decide to fuck canon and find the hidden city all by yourselves. He'll have nothing to do with Belk, of course.
>>
>>44878670
Of course. Any time, trooper. Emperor be with you.
>Vimes wanders off after they've gone.
>>44878756
You want me to officiate? Of course, just give me a moment. I'll need both of your full names.

Hm, been a while since I officiated a wedding. I hope I don't mess this up.

What is your name sir? If you don't mind me asking.

Tissue Samples? Liver Samples? Spinal Fluid samples? Blood Samples? All for a a checkup that I had already received when I was inducted back on Praetoria?
To say nothing of the fact that mentioning exactly this didn't make him shut his hole and move his arse?
He's a lying cunt lass, none of that was necessary for a 'checkup', I know it, my staff knows it and he knows it. But he was relying on me not knowing it.

I get that you might be distrustful of me after...well you know, but he's no bloody better.
>>
>>44878563
He's planning what!?
Open communication channels with Verasii. This is folly!
>>
>>44878769
Greely. I trust them. I'm close with them. We've worked well in the past.
>>
>>44878849
You do know that 'check up' was a supposed to be a obvious cover for 'find out how she heals this fast' which was also a cover for other stuff

>>
>>44878849
I trust you, Alice, what I don't trust is the "magic" that's going on around your... er... "condition"..

And I will grant you that it was a bit odd that he kept insisting but the man was just suppossedly doing his job. Wouldn't be the first time the administratum did stupid, unneccessary procedures. I mean look at me they put me to sleep, gave me general anesthesia when I would just have needed it for the arm and nothing else.

Still, you're my boss, if you say I have to keep an eye over him when I see him I'll do, just... don't let a disagreement escalate over to an armed confrontation, alright? we STILL have an heretic to hunt in this planet, and that's Amelia. There's not enough ammo to waste at each other and her at the same time.
>>
>>44878922
"other stuff" Yeah nah, don't think so.
Plus it's a -flimsy as fuck- disguise to try and hide your sham with a 'routine' checkup, but at this point there is no way I'll go along with any of your plans anyway so....
>>
>>44878876

As have we with Nyzart, but I'm aware of the fact that his agenda is not always going to be ours. I have my reasons for thinking my plan is the better one, but you'll have to trust me.

Commoragh?!? They want to going ~into~ Commoragh? Can you put me through to these idiots, somehow?

>Rushes forward before anyone can say anything.
Ozymandias Buckingham Junior the Third, do you take Taylor Shwifty to be your wife under the Emperor's laws? >>44880373
Thank you lieutenant. I just wanted to make sure they would get off planet intact.

>>44880450

Sincerely Alice? I wasn't going to harm them, but I could not care less about how they'd answer to my question. I was going to carry him in anyways and take full responsability of whathever happenned next.

I would... I would appreciate that...

Because Lho-sticks don't work for me anymore, we're indirectly responsible for these people turning against us - Vympel directly so, and I've got a sadomaschochistic boogeyman alien in my rearview who wants to ~fuck~ me, Anna, and Jackson to death with ~steak knives~ and and.. fuck I didn't mean to mention that. Well Preacher, this is our ship, you can take a room in the 'Crew' portion of the ship, same with you Gary.
Thankfully it keeps you separate from the rest of these louts.

>>
>>44880731
You're forgiven...

Sincerely if there's anything this regiment has teached me is that you can dig profesionalism really deep at times if you want to keep standing over the constant shit it throws at you.

I never had friends before, Greely, I'm an Assassin I'm not allowed, nor suppossed to have them. But this bloody regiment... Omicron... Alice... You...

It's stronger than any blink of professionalism I've ever had...

And I'm both grateful and hateful about it because...

I never felt how it was like to loose a friend before... but I'd never trade them for anything...
