Fire a rocket to catch the Faceless and the Chryssalids next to it.

Adhira to fire on that close Chrysallid to the east; remember that she has a Hybrid Sniper Rifle.
Oleg and Malik, also take shots at the other targeted Chryssalids.

Everyone else, unload everything on the Faceless. If that thing reaches us, we're all dead.

2 rockets, 1 bulletstorm later, the faceless and most of the chrysaalids were down.

Then things started to go sour real fast.

4 rookies were killed in a matter of seconds, 2 were incapacitated by the agile stun captain. The shield captain kept his slow formation onwards flushing the rookies out only for the magnetic projectiles to end them.

"Strike team, the aliens are calling for back up to extract the mind controlled soldier, DO NOT let them get away with them!"

Have LOKI-1 move to the eastern group of XCOM and provide cover by releasing smoke.

Throw Hand/Scatter Grenades at the Shield Captain, while we put down the Chrysallid coming at us.

Have Hugo fire his last rocket towards the wall protecting the Psi Captain/Shield Bearer, to kill them and break down the wall. If the blast area is big enough, also try to catch the other two Shield Bearers with it.
GOLIATH-2 will rush for that opening, firing as it goes.

Malik and Oleg take out the two Advent that could actually hurt GOLIATH-2, Yousef takes out that approaching Stun Captain, and everyone else take out the Advent blocking GOLIATH-2's path.

Have Yousef take out that close Stun Lancer on the left; Cavalry has a Hybrid Assault Carbine which should let him do it.

Oleg and Malik, take out a Stun Lancer each. That last person there (I think it's Hugo) takes out that last Stun Lancer.

Throw whatever Scatter and Hand grenades are left at the Stun Captain.

Take out the Advent trying to flank us.

Adhira take out the Advent shooting at us, and someone shoot the Stun Lancer trying an endrun.

GOLIATH-2, full fire on the Shield Bearers to get to the Sectoid.

Or, pay Fortunefinder to get us some more Alloy and Damaged Advent Body Armor first. We need 20 Damaged Advent Body Armor to do the next research project to let us mod better armor.

So if we break down 3 Mech Wrecks, we get 360 Alloy.

675 Alloy - 600 Alloy = 3 Advent Body Armor
With 280 Advent Weapon Fragments, we can make a Hybrid Grenade Launcher for our Grenadier.
Or we can save them for >Advent weapon fragments III [50 SCI, 50 ENG, 1.5 Mil, 500 Advent weapon fragments, 2 weeks]
With how dangerous this mission sounds, I think we should make the Hybrid Grenade Launcher.
We might need the extra explosive firepower.

The variety seems right.
It's frustrating that we can't grab bodies (both friend and foe alike) and run with them back to the Skyranger even if we can't do a complete salvage of the battlefield, like we saw in the XCOM 2 previews.

I can understand that it would take time to retrieve turrets, mechs, Faceless, and other big and heavy corpses.
But Advent Grunts and XCOM soldiers should be able to be recovered.

As the Advent/greys sweep through the earth, we should start building contacts/bases where they have left.

We need a secondary base where we can begin relocating parts of our operations, especially the more fragile/time-consuming to move.

That way we can make our current base a fucking death trap.

Turrets (maybe conventional ones, ones that don't require alien fragments. Just big ass guns wielding rockets and large calibre rifles) out the wazoo, enough to require an army to cut through, an empty base and a base reactor set to explode when they penetrate too deep.

Dud bases presumably already have all of those things.

The only thing that will really help is researching the Cloaking Field Generator project and installing it in a new base. Currently our only option is the USS Aegis.

Well on the first point i conceed. I thought it would just make more sense to put it in a location where they werrnt actively scanning.

And the point of the other base is also to partially begin decentralising parts of our operations, have cells begin small scale targetting/recruitment instead of just being a contact.

With Advent actively looking for XCOM now, it's not just active scans but all surveillance.
If our field offices were to step up operations, that would expose them to discovery.
OP already said that having the cells do anything more than what they're already doing will expose them, and then we have Chryssalid and Faceless missions.

As for getting another base to decentralise operations, that's fine and dandy, but that means increases maintenance costs in a time when we're only making 4MIL from our Council funding, and with running missions where we can't salvage corpses or equipment, where we're running low on both so we can't afford to sell any.
That's on top of the fact that the Brazil base is the one that's hardest to discover. Every other base will be easier to discover, until we have Elerium Generators and the Cloaking Field operational.
