I'm the GM, I demand proper punctuation. None of this "punctuation for emphasis" bullshit.

I'm calling the cops when you leave, by the way.

Of course.

That's why basically every game out there always have "have fun is most important", "GM's ruling is final", and in some cases even "house rules are ok" as rules.

I'm no expert to /tg/, but aren't rules supposed to balance shit out?

I'm okay with the party's Gunslinger/Rogue/Swashbuckler multipling their sneak attack bonuses on enemies if the DM allows it and they think it's fun, but applying them on me when they become angry? well, that's not pretty funny to me.
>>
>>44871039
Because the rules don't always account for every possible situation.
>>
>>44871122
Sure, and from what I've gattered on /pfg/ Pathfinder isn't really balanced to begin with. But my point is I'm pretty sure if I point out that inconsistensy I'm gonna get meme'd to hell and back even if it affects me personally.
>>
>>44871217
Truth is, groups vary so greatly away from the devs ability to explain things or enforce rules that no system will be balanced for every group.

One of the major hang ups that /tg/ has for any system is homebrewing and solving problems as a group to make a system work for them.

Year ago, players would come on here and ask how to do something in a campaign when we had no details about what they had as optional or replaced rules in their games. This made anons frustrated because they could not give a straight answer or their answer was no longer valid. This lead to them discouraging any form of rule changing and eventually to people trying to make the best system so they can win the game better and faster than anyone else.

>>44873175
It has a gun in it. It doesn't matter who holds the gun, the gun can kill you. Now, because it's a picture and not a gun in your face, it's not dangerous, but this is true for all images.
>>
>>44873241
It's in the newest version. I'll send you guys a copy after the game.

Don't believe me? Then before you go on a rant on how I make things up as I go and have no respect for the rules or whatever you wish to say, I'll say this. I do this for my and your entertainment. We're here to have a good time. If I houserule something and you don't agree with it, speak up and come up with an argument why I shouldn't beyond "hurr houserule". It's usually because something is stupid or because the houserule makes things more fun. This is also why I run custom systems or run houserules. To make things more interesting or fun. It isn't a battle, it isn't a competition on who can play the system the hardest.
If your idea of having fun is to obsess over and probably abuse rules, feel free to do that on your own time with anyone you convince to join you. Do not do it here. If you disagree, or have an argument against a particular rule, speak up after the session. Right now, I'd very much like to keep going, so would you kindly hold your piece until later?

On a separate note, I'm still calling the cops. The gun might be fake, but you'll have to explain that to the officers.
>>
>>44856230

does spellless 5e ranger suck (from unearthed arcana.) Because I am playing one and I'm the most powerful char in my party, and I'm the primary out of combat healer. DM has whined that I "shouldn't want to get so powerful so fast."
>>
>>44876040
That's not how logic works. If you ignore all of the rules, you no longer need a rule to support your decisions that would conflict with the rules. You could run FATAL and call it a legal GURPS game and be right.
>>
>>44876103

>>
>>44876169
no, its normal 5e ranger with some modifications made to it laid out in 5e's unearthed arcana. Its all post playtest. Basically instead of spells I get to make herbal healing poultices that heal ceiling(lvl/2)d6 and I can have 3 at a time because of my WIS. I also get battlemaster(?) fighter manuevers. We are level 5 now and I have 3 manuevers and they are pretty robust. I also have 20 dex because lol single stat archery.
>>
>>44876217
Ahh see that's the difference
Core Ranger sucks donkey dick, your animal comp is useless.
>I have to give up my attack action so my comp can attack
Spell list is okay, but as a caster you need more stats and feats to not get fucked over that they are just are second class everything.
They really don't do anything special on their own which is a shame they were powerhouses when you wanted them to be in previous editions.

don't be a beast master then. I went with archery specialization and its awesome. I have an amazing hit chance at any range (even melee, because disadvantage isn't so bad that I have to switch weapons). And I can fire 3 arrows in a round (one from extra attack, one from the style, one normal). And because single stat everything I add high damage to all my arrows.

False. You don't take the radiant damage in sunlight(and only sunlight, so the flashlight won't do much good) if you aren't wearing any armor.

And even then, it's literally 5 damage a round you're exposed. Against a 4e character.
