All non-sniper weapons should be modded with Millimeter scanners, which releases pulses every few seconds and show on the scope screen targets hiding behind obstacles. Sniper rifles should be moddable with night and thermal vision and x16 scopes if they're not already.

Engineering is all about practicality and economic viability. Weapons are not only designed to fit human psychology, but to maintain their compatibility with addons and other existing tech. Even if for some reason they weren't, the mods are still present, they didn't evaporate, and refitting them would be either dirt cheap or could be sold on the market. I'm not sure why you're looking for a 1:1 XCOM video game, when this is just an xcom board quest.

Once the rocket went off , all went to chaos. Nadia's rocket destroyed 2 turrets and exposed the front of the base, despite your order not to, Oleg relocated to a spot where could focus on the Sniper.

The Shiv perhaps saved lives today as it was the main target of almost all the alien forces and it provided much needed cover. Two smoke grenades were popped.

As for the captains, The stun one cabled his way to a position close to your forces, he was ready for another leap, The regular one was calling for reinforcements while the PSI one protected one of the soldiers.

Both the mechs and the sectoid didn't interfere. They focused on guarding the hive. Suddenly, one of the Exalt forces yelled "Gulpers!" Every team on field was approached by these terrifying foes. You spotted them behind your shoulder as they unhinged their jaw ready to bolt at your soldiers. The snipers team were surrounded as well.

None Died so far. Not yet.

Have Nadia and Patches focus fire on the PSI Captain, two of the Rookies throw grenades on the Captain calling for reinforcements, and the rest of the squad throw grenades at the Gulpers coming at the squad.

It happened so fast.

With the Stun captain unchecked, he grappled his way towards your squad stunning three of the rookies before he was gunned down.

Your Shiv has tanking the front side, he almost scored all the kills by itself.

The rest of the rookies met a painful end as the the gulpers coiled around them and gulped them down in a matter of seconds with the squad being in disarray, some of them were shot by the surviving sniper team (who covered Oleg thankfully) but you will never forget their brief screams and shrieks for help. None was prepared for CQC. None was prepared for this.

Due to their hindrance, the rookies were spat out as a steamy pile of unrecognized flesh, horror and dismay were written on what used to be their faces. Three of them were left. No. You won't die this day.

The exalt suffered from some losses but they were better trained, they knew how to handle this situation, they were pushing towards the base.

-Gene splicing/MELD related projects
-perhaps they offer great public services to the society to show that they are the good guys (gene therapy, Anti cancerous drugs...etc)

And what about MELD?
It's nanorobots that make different tissues or neural interfaces work.
That's the kind of tech that can stabilize with a nanospray.

We don't have anything they want, except the comm codes for One and soldiers, neither of which I want to give up.
Doing something for them means potential loss of soldiers and increasing the heat on us from Advent.

We may have to accept that we can't use rockets until we find another weapons depot to attack (potentially from our cell in the USA).

Pavefinder is just a roll of the dice, and from how OP was suggesting against it, the next set of contacts probably doesn't include an arms dealer.

You do remember that Exalt has outright said they will kill us as soon as Advent are defeated, right?
That we only have 2 psionically active individuals: Brandon "The Beacon" Smith, and the Test Subject.
Brandon is our highest ranked and most senior soldier, as well as the contact point for the Rogue Ethereal.
The Test Subject is absolutely critical to our own psi research an she can be made into the core of a powerful psionic weapon. If she were to fall into Exalt hands, that would give them even more of an advantage against us.

The Aegis is supposed to be ours to use. Te Rogue doesn't want help, it wants us to fight Advent and the Ethereal Hivemind, an so far doesn't want help from us. It just leads us to things that it thinks will help us.

Of course, it's pissed at us right now because we were weak and pathetic, and it outright said it won't help us next time.

Except that the Aegis doesn't seem to be where the Rogue is hiding. It offered the Aegis to us as a second base, but it seems too exposed for someone like the Rogue.
