Can /tg/ recommend undead regiment minis in a similar style to Avatars of War? I really like their undead commanders, but they haven't released anything like basic troops or elites. I'd like them for large-scale battles. Nothing from GW, please.

I'm assuming you already know about Mantic's undead?

There are no good generic skeleton miniatures that also have fancy armor on them. They're all either naked skeletons or have basic armor.

Unless you count single miniatures.
Though GW's Graveguard would qualify if OP wasn't oppossed to it.
If you want elite undead, bane knights from warmachine suits the bill minus visible legs

Building a large group out of single centerpiece models though? Those aren't fancy generic skeletons, you're taking a large amount of fancy, non-generic skeletons.

Well the easy alternative would be to just use models you like and plopp a skull on top of their body.
That should be easy enough.

ARISE, MY SKELEDWARVES!!!

Wouldn't be a problem.
Just gotta pick the right skull for the body.
I'd recommend old school GW or Wargames factory in this case cause they are a little squarer.
If you are adventurous you could add braids and beard hair with putty afterwards.
15mm bump of the dead.
How bout these guys?

Gary Morley? Wow, isn't that the legend who revolutionized GW Orks design a century ago?

Gw has lost nearly all his good modellers, than have joined other companies or made they own like Paniagua and AoW.
