So what's everyone building/painting?
>mfw Sigismund can one hit kill a bloodthirster
I feel the Emperor overtaking me! IT IS A RIGHTEOUS PAIN!
I've been considering getting into HH with Alpha Legion. Im a sucker for cool character conversion though. Does the anonymity/ we are Spartacus theme allow for interesting modeling opportunities for characters and the like?
AL is all about information warfare, giving some information is part of their plan, so go crazy on your operators and give them unique looks as the "We are legion" theme is but one of the hydra's heads. Look at Dynat, fucker has a face tattoo of a hydra.
Pfft! Girlyman is just not fabulous enough
Gotta party with a real Primarch
2BaCanon here thinking about Imperial Fists. For doing some homemade Templar Brethren, would it be okay to use GK power swords for them and gluing GK Terminators herald plates to the arm as combat shields?
Right, time for the good news and the bad news.
The good news is that the university has a new scanning machine, which has made everything so much easier. I can now average two or three pages a minute instead of one every few, so there will be no more delays. Retribution and the HH Masterclass will be done on time.
The bad news is that this new machine is a lot more temperamental. It doesn't have a colour balance option, so the pictures aren't quite as nice as the old ones. Also they're a lot bigger. Like 7 Mgs per picture as opposed to 2-3 on the old system. You can clearly see where the new scanner takes over from the old one in these pics. Posting images will be a lot harder when I do Retribution.
Well, here it is. The final of the red (Well, black in my case) books.
I'll see you all when I receive my copy of the HH Masterclass, or Retribution, whichever happens soonest.
All of you have shit taste.
Especially you, Vulkanfag. Fuck you and your hammer.
Getting into Iron Hands and not going well. I have been suggested Land Raiders to outflank, but I can't justify 200+ point targets that will just get glanced off the board in a single turn. Is there any tanks I should run with my Hands? I have been eyeing a Sicaran Venator, are they any good?
That's partly what I did. I also mixed in a black Templar upgrade kit since even two BaC doesn't give you enough arms for 10 guys with pistols and swords.
Upside is that you get 4 knight helms, 2 mark 4 Templar chest pieces, 6 miscellaneous tabard chest pieces and some power weapons for your Templars as well as the shoulder pads.
Let's just pretend he is even close to being better than the Lion. Oh wait.
Is there any stuff regarding bolter pattern issues. Like are certain suits, units or legions more likely to make use of a certain pattern over others? FW has Tigrus pattern bolters in the seeker variant, their tartaros suits and gorgons come with the tigrus style combi-bolter while the cataphractii has the phobos style combi-bolter.
I know it's all up to me, but has there ever been any word on certain units preferring or being issued with certain weapon patterns over others?
BranStark changed his nickname to Epistolary on kickass torrents.
Tigrus bolters were issued along with Maximus suits in the years before the Heresy. Check forgeworld for the rest.
But it's up to you anyway.
I am willing to debate that Rowboat is a traitor primarch. But doubting the Lion? Your doubt matters little, abosolute loyalty is it's own reward.
Nothing happened on Caliban, MOVE ALONG!
Has anyone thought of doing a castellan for e with one big fortification and then filling the other 3 fort slots with void shield generators? Thats potentially 29 void shields covering your gunline, 30 if you take the void shield harness.
Because the Dark Angels fear the Inquisition. Let's just pretend that they can do anything against us at all.
Remember the time that they tried to fuck over the Space Wolves? Let's just say that we have... A few more troops available than them.
>inb4 gay knights r stronk
I guess it's kinda funny that the Space Wolves doesn't fear the Inqusition and is actually less subtle than Daek Angels when it comes to getting rid of them. Hell, I don't think the Dark Angels ever tried to assassinate an inquisitor with Grox rape.
Would anyone be interested in a 40K monster girl CYOA?
I've been trying my hand at writing a cyoa about a soldier from a futuristic nazi-esque society on the 8ch /monster/ board, but they're currently having technical difficulties. Writing CYOAs is really fun, but I'd like to see if people like my ideas before I start drafting.
Codexes. For example the 3e inquisitorial codexes say that the DA rule "Hunt for the Fallen" is suspended if DA are in the same army as the Inquisition, due to fears of their secrets leaking out.
In 7e codex one of their successors has come under inquisitorial scrutiny and may possibly face excommunication.
The tubes, the extra big boxy gubbins. Power weapons, in particular powerswords often don't have anything beyond those electrode looking things on the blade. Force weapons also always lack those.
>So what's everyone building/painting?
A destroyer squad. My motivation has been sucked out until Corax and friends arrive.
Speaking of, whatever happened to that clear insta-mold? I hear they went under or the porduct did. But I see 'bluestuff' on ebay that looks like the exact saem stuff but blue. Google has also turned up "Oyumaru" and it looks very similar.
Anyone have experience with "Blue stuff" by Green Stuff world or generic Oyumaru?
I want to copy the Chooser of the Slain(Dark Fury Sarge) Ravens Talons and i've lost my cool mini instamold and am looking for a substitute.
I am currently working on my Garro miniature and preparing to work on my Alexis Polux. And I pre-ordered Corvus Corax because that miniature is just fucking amazing.
So that's why the plastic kits come with tigrus bolters.
Follow up question: What would make a good replacement for the indomitus suit's storm bolter? Been looking at the platic cataphractii combi-bolters. Having all terminators with a consistent armament would satisfy my autism.
If I recall correctly, what is and is not a loli actually has something to do with head:body ratio and certain other bodily proportions. There are actual quantifiable proportions for this shit, but I can't remember them of the top of my mead because it's not really something I'm interested in.
As far as I know, it's also actually supposed to refer to teenagers, since the word loli is just a short form of the word lolita, which comes from the actual book titled "Lolita."
Like the difference pedophilia (wants to fuck kids) and ephebophilia (wants to fuck adolescents).
Lolita's namesake was a "sexually precocious" teenager overdeveloped for her age (12 IIRC).
Notably like the modern loli looks like an child -chubby, underdeveloped, short. That they tend to speak with childish mannerisms, wear childish clothing, and frequently have bladder control problems suggests to me it's not ephebophilia the audience is looking for.
>Remember the time that they tried to fuck over the Space Wolves?
Yes, I remember it well. The Space Wolves were so far beyond reproach that other Inquisitors and even fucking Grey Knights were plotting to assassinate the idiot Inquisitor that started it all.
That would not be true if there was any doubts about their loyalty...
Well... Yeah I do but that's not the point. I imagine she would be that typical super-serious anime girl trope that rarely smiles or shows emotion in front of you, but secretly likes you and does so when no-one is looking.
Wait, why are discussing anime high schooler Primarch love relations exactly?
Right, that's still a teenager. Lolita is supposed to refer to girls aged around like 11-14; basically girls that haven't reached peak physical development yet but are past puberty.
Why are we discussing the technical of Lolicon and the literary significance of Lolita as a character?
Just roll with it. It's more fun that way. /hhg/ can do with some fun off topic shit for once.
Not me. I'm very crude when it comes to romance and I find most of peoples expectations about it to be pretentious crap hyped up by media.
I'm sure there is a rational reason why I'm single.
The modern loli is a reflection of what the average person thinks a loli is or what someone with a lolita complex would like. Since no matter how you want to try and phrase it, a lolicon is a person who likes young girls, that naturally gets distorted and taken to an extreme which it was not meant to be taken to, I.E. pre-pubescent children.
Now you've entered the realm of philosophy; Is the modern loli the correct loli, because more people identify that as a loli? Is the original loli coined by the book "Lolita" the correct loli, because that is how the word was formally coined and defined?
Language is a weird thing, bro.
BaCanon with another list I'd like to be torn apart. This is my "proto black templars" Imperial Fists list that I'll probably paint them as such. Let me know what you think. Known limitations: no LoWs, no money yet for any cool tanks, keeping it to what I own and can convert myself for now.

sweet zombie jesus you degenerates need to take this shit elsewhere, and lets post about space mans in 30k
Sure, but there are still people that want to fuck little girls that hasn't entered puberty yet refered to as lolicon in Chinese cartoon porn. I guess it sounds better than pedophilia on paper.
I think it's linguistic drift from the Katakana usage.
Lo-li-ka-n works out well in Japanese better than Pa-eh-do-feh-li-a....more or less.
So it's just a useful shorthand. Like how in the states lusting after anything under 18 is "zomg pedophilia" instead of "zomg ephebophilia."
I can't say I knew the difference 'til early 2015.
fuck that I want Bangels and Dangels!
Amazing work scanbro, but it seems that you were off by one when making the .zip files, because page 69 is missing, and page 110 is listed in both part 2 and 3.
If you could upload page 69 separately I can get to work on compiling them into a PDF right away.
Same reason why Homosexuals aren't really called Homosexuals in common language, never mind that 'Gay' already meant something else.
The word Homosexual sounds unnatural, and has a negative connotation associated with it. Same thing with Pedophile. It's just word rebranding to make behavior socially perceived as deviant seem less deviant.
I'm sure something happened during the Horus Heresy that demonstrates this principle in action, but I've only just started reading the series now that I've got through my massive backlog of Imperial Guard novels.
I just finished reading Vulkan Lives, and it was pretty damn good even though I thought the 'omg vulkan best primarch' stuff was a little too much at times.
One thing I thought was really out of place though, was
corax. What the fuck was he even doing there? and what happened to him?
He's distant and cold, blunt and inflexible.
And he really, really struggles with showing affection.
But he's a good guy if you let him keep his peace and do his thing. When he's shown respect and treated likewise he's a damn strong team player.
It's probably a good thing Petra takes after his more artistic inclinations and though somewhat resistant to compromise she lacks her father's deep bitterness and is struggling to find patience with other people.
Had to resize it, the original is 9 Mgs. I hope this helps, and sorry about the cock up.
It's not clear.
The 40 High universe is post-Great Crusade, but also non-HH. The basic setting is that nobody betrayed Emps and he saddled all his sons with children to give them something besides war to care about.
They're all test-tube kids, incidentally.
Everyone is essentially mellowed out -though Curze still Night Haunts when he's jittery- and have de-mobilized into a sort of "average" suburban section of an "average" city.
The actual carnage and waste of the Crusade is very much papered-over; theoretically it all still happened but it goes unconfirmed.
I guess a decent description would be that things ended like Emps would have wanted them to end but better than he would have chosen them to end. There is no perpetual war culture. There is no constant threat of Chaos. There is no xeno predation. There is no Ecclesiarchy and no heretic hunting.
There are still battles and there are still dangers, but things aren't grimdark. Where any other factions are is unknown. From what I remember they're all outside the essentially stable borders of this version of the Imperium.
It's all fanon of course, but it's highly resistant to non-Imperial meddling -no Eldar kids running around, no Tyranid pets, or obnoxious Tau'va's Witnesses knocking on Russ's door asking him if he's "heard the good news."
Ah, here we go:
>>In the center of a massive chamber near the heart of the imperial Palace stood an enormous statue of the Emperor of Mankind in golden armor flanked by Custodes and the Sisters of Silence, facing a delegation of Eldar led by Eldrad Ulthran.
>>Eldrad had found the Emperor at the outset of the Great Crusade and warned the Emperor of the dangers of Warp beings. As a show of loyalty, Eldrad was able to get the Eldar to cease aggression against the Imperium. Slowly, the tenuous cease-fire solidified into a Treaty, then a pact of mutual assistance between the two races. During the Crusade, Fulgrim and his Legion had run across maiden worlds that the Eldar had planned to return to, and with coordination between the Imperium and the Eldar, the Eldar had managed to start anew on the eastern fringe of the galaxy.
>>Now the Emperor worked together frequently with Eldrad; Liana mused that maybe powerful psykers attracted their own. It was the Eldar who first insisted that the Emperor take the threat from the Warp more seriously and resulted in the creation of the Grey Knights.
Oh, and... though this kind of material frequently incites rage in various of the fa/tg/uys I suggest if you don't like it you should regard it as being like a soap bubble.
It's pretty, it's floaty, it's empty, it's meaningless. It's a daydream. It's warm-and-fuzzy-fic that nobody in the actual setting would find less than disgusting and insulting.
(Ironic that all the rage about "newfags" being thin-skinned is from lads who get lit up by stuff like Warhammer High.)
I like it. I think it's cute. That doesn't in the least impair my wish to hate to death people who beat me at DoW2: Elite Forces.
Say what you will about the premise (and I've heard all the criticisms before, and they are valid) the biggest problem was that the authors never read any of the HH Books. So they fucked up their portrayal of the Daughters, the Primarchs and the Imperium big time. Few of them read as anything like the way they are shown in the Series, though for some I imagine that is a bonus, no BL or HH fluff ruining them (So no 'Decimation' Peturabo or 'Autist' Lion.)
I'd really like to see someone who's actually read the BL/FW series do a new take on that sometime. Maybe this time we won't have the same negative backlash the last lot got for their shit (Some of it well deserved).
Fuck all of you pedo faggots in this thread, kindly fuck off.
Weapon patterns aren't like armour patterns. Armour is issued based on tactical role and technology level. Newer recruits have newer armour typically, while boarding parties have iron armour because its stronger to the front.
Weapons however are derived from the forge world the weapon was created on. So you can have almost any combination of weapon and armour. As far as timeline of pattern creation is concerned, theres not much to go on, but bolters replaced volkites as the heresy went on, o its safe to assume you can use any pattern without worrying.
In Fallen Angels he's basically described as an Aspie as I recall.
I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the Primarchs weren't 100% normal in the head (Hell, Konrad is schizo or something as is)
>Not mentioning he took the guns away from Horus of all people
>Not mentioning he rekt Curze so hard he got put in a coma
>Not mentioning Caliban got fucked by the present day Dangels or Luther doing some chaos shit
>Not mentioning every Primarch besides Sang was autistic
Night Lords are the worst and most autistic legion
>Constant use of autistic
Just fuck off with this shit. It means nothing. The autism spectrum is so broad at this point that any unexplained action or show of emotion gets called autistic.
If this were 2008 you'd all be saying faggot instead.
>absurd cheap shot
He apologized in advance, Curze shouldn't have tried to provoke him and then just stood there like an idiot when it worked.
Also, am I crazy, or is Curze's exact fighting ability really wonky? He can fight the Lion and be winning even after getting impaled, and go toe to toe with the Lion and Guilliman together at their best, but a rabid Vulkan flattens him. What's going on there?
With the Lion and Guilliman, he was very much in his element. A city in panic and chaos, lots of alleyways and buildings. With the Lion, it was much more of an open fight. That said I'm sure the particular aspect of Curze's shattered mind that was in control at the time would influence this as well.
Well, I would think that its because both Guilliman and the Lion were trying to protect themselves from Konrad's claws where Vulkan was trying just to beat the ever-loving shit out of him, and wouldn't die.
Like when the Lion was trying to fight Konrad with Guilliman, the Lion took more of a beating than Guilliman because Guilliman had a shield basically; Konrad was dancing around the Lion's sword like it was nothing and using its clumsiness of defense to stab the shit out of the lion, putting him off balance as he tried to defend himself.
Vulkan on the other hand, literally took those claws through his brainpan and healed so fast that he turned around around and hit Konrad so hard he flew through a building wall.
So, basically it was Vulkan's regeneration that let him just take it. He literally had no fear of Konrad's claws, which Konrad had used against his other two brothers to hurt them.
I too am confused about Curze's fighting ability.
Corax noted that Curze had never been particularly adept at combat but was almost beaten by him at Istavaan (Corax's subconsciously holding back or something?)
I think the Vulkan book is just a bit too eager to tout his horn. Him being the strongest primarch, a perpetual and able to kill Curze when weakened and injured.
Kek. That is about how it went. On what logic did Curze decide that the important part of "huge-ass hammer with a teleporter in the hilt" is "teleporter?" Boy wan't all there.
Something to do with how applicable his fighting style is, you figure? El'Jonson and Guilliman fight like rational people who want to live, letting Curze set the pace as long as he has momentum, while Vulkan just wants him to die and isn't feeling any fear, so none of Curze's usual tricks work? That seems rational. Saw a theory about Curze's effectiveness relating to whether or not his prescience was working at any moment, which seems plausible but probably not what the writers were going for.
>Something to do with how applicable his fighting style is, you figure?
Well, its a combination of that and Vulkan not being able to die. It wouldn't have mattered how psycho Vulkan was if he stayed dead, but there aren't many cc fighting styles that can stop someone that doesn't die.
I mean at that point I think it would take Angron hacking Vulkan apart piece by piece. Which raises the interesting idea of those two fighting.
>It wouldn't have mattered how psycho Vulkan was if he stayed dead, but there aren't many cc fighting styles that can stop someone that doesn't die.
That is a not-insignificant edge, there. Actually, given how Perpetuals work, would Angron decapi-membering Vulkan (assuming he could, that would be quite the brawl) require someone to stick the pieces back together, stop him until his head grows a new body, or result in all of the pieces growing new bodies? I mean, they can regenerate from blood spills, can't they? Is there some part that takes priority?
Considering start an Imperial Fists 30k force, just discovered most glorious chinaman. How do they hold up ingame?
I have a small Templars collection and was gifted Sigismund not too long ago, so aiming to get some more mileage out of him but mix it up with a more shooting focused force.
I don't really understand this either.
Curze said that he had tried cutting off Vulcan's head didn't he? How do perpetuals get back?
Also, if there's one thing that annoys me about the HH books it's that the writers are so inconsistent with how strong the primarch's healing factors are.
Each Perpetual operates differently. Some reform a whole new body, others regenerate like Vulkan. Some just feel pain but simply don't die. The Primarchs are the same. Their healing abilities are not uniform and vary by primarch.
>Getting mad about lolis
I admire your blind perseverance anon, even as I laugh at you.
Just pretend it's an underbarrel venom sphere launcher.
Admitting that FW thought people were going to shell out 5 points a head for combi-bolters on a unit with BS5 and PE:Infantry is almost as bad as admitting FW thought that was a good design for a firearm.
Played Sigismund yesterday for the first time, fucker had 3 swarmed on his ass and probably could've taken care of them but my opponent did the smart thing and fed Sigi a bike squad so a Bloodthirster could pulp him with the D but I fucking loved how it took almost 3 turns of combat and 4 units to kill one of mine with Sigi wiping out a bike squad and a juggerlord with khornedogs.
Shit was cash as fuck, still lost the game but it was awesome so here's another list to toy with Sigismund!
Sigismund [Pride of the Legion]
Tactical Squad [15 marines, CCW/BP/Bolter]
3x Veteran Squads [10 marines, Sniper]+Rhino
2x Vindicators [Machine Spirit]
Devastator Squad[5 Missile launchers]
Bunker [Escape Hatch, Ammo dump]
Sigi goes with the tacticals into the bunker and jumps out turn one to fury something dead and then assault next turn
Templar and Sigismund go in the Land Raider, Apothecary joins the blob to make them more immovable from an objective, Heavy Support squad benefits from IF Tank Hunters, Vet Squads benefit from +1 BS to with two HBs a piece, the Contemptors come with the BaC set and I guessed that they'd be a better addition than deep striking Terminators. I'm working with what I have for now, but long term I can see myself buying one or two of the fancy Forgeworld tanks.
BROTHER! I just saw your list, looks good but obviously you need transports or fortifications for your dudes, footslogging marines aint so hot especially in bigger games.
Yeah honestly the only reason why I'm so damn stubborn about keeping that single 20 man blob is because 20 man blobs of tacticals are what made me want to stop 40k and play 30k in the first place haha. I put the Vets in Rhinos and Templars in a LR at least!
Trying to come up with a bodyguard for Lorgar. In a transport does not feel like a viable option since it stops him from using psychic powers. Anything involving a primarch is going to be expensive as fuck so I want to ensure he sees as much action as possible to give him a chance to make his points back. As well as act like a red cloth.
#1 Tricked out Command Squad + Apothecary, in a Drop Pod.
#2 Tricked out Veteran Squad + Apothecary and Dark Channeling, in a Pod.
#3 Footslogging with a unit, Gal Vorbak maybe?
Even if I could stand the model, it has several things going against it. It is a flyer, so that's at least two turns the unit isn't doing shit. It is even more expensive than a Kharybdis. It only removes bulky from models in terminator armour, so Lorgar is still bulky, as are Gal Vorbak, which means the unit won't even fit inside.
This is the kind of honest opinion I was looking for honestly, thanks. I was thinking of them more as "combat bucklers" because obviously they're a bit smaller than the normal ones...but I wanted to keep it GW and not go to a 3rd party if I could. What would you recommend instead?
Someone did these, looks like they took some storm shields off the assault squad kit as well (I believe).
you have sunk almost 900 points on a challange master, his mediocre retinue and the only tank in your army.
Any player worth half a damn will destroy the LR first opportunity which will leave sigismund and the templars standing about awkwardly while they are shot off the board.
As a separate point I don't think Sigismund is ever really worth it desu. If you put him with templars then you're wasting his AP2 or wasting their AP3 and if you put him with terminators then he faces the problems of either not DS-ing, the above mentioned AP waste.
IMO the only possible unit to place Sig in is powerfist/thunder hammer terminators in a spartan, chuck in a primus medicae and you've got quite a nice (if very expensive) deathstar.
imagine Sig leading a unit of Suzerains
Yeah the Spartan/Terminator combo sounds really appealing, I'm just so damn nervous to make my first Forgeworld resin purchase a $200 tank, felt a little bit safer to start with a $60 admittedly less cool plastic tank.
Skyshield landing pad. The Ram starts on it and gives you a fort for your dudes to be stubborn on and get a 4++.
Also turn 3 is average assault time anyway unless it's two melee armies sprinting directly at each other.
Any suggestions for a cheaper but still decent looking proxy miniature to use instead of the FW Tech-Thrall models? After reading the new Taghmata red book it became clear that I was going to need to add some AdSec scoring units to the Legio Cybernetica list I want to build, but I'd rather not shell out ~$200 for 200 points of expendable chaff. Skitarii Vanguard/Rangers are the obvious suggestion, but to be honest I'm not sure they're a good fit since they're just too detailed and well-equipped for what are in the fluff basically a bunch of lobotomized slaves cobbled together with whatever junk the Lachrimallus happened to have available.
Catachan Legs (basic utility trousers and boots)
Cadian Torso (file away the front of the armor to turn it into one flat piece)
Cadian Arms (add small gear pieces to the shoulder pads, add guitar wiring to the lasgun)
Pig Iron Production Heads (theres a huge selection, pick the one you think fits the aesthetic the best)
Tempestus Backpack (look suitably techy and change the silhouette of the model)
Just off the top of my head if you want a cheaper alternative.
Freshly made pdf! Clear images, reduced file size, searchable text, and bookmarks!
Let me know if anyone finds any errors or things people would like added.
It's not that kind of poison. Just don't eat the shit and if you file anything off, dispose of the dust in the trash instead of letting it sit. Wash your hands afterwords too I guess
I am concerned for HH. If GW and the 40k waac retards are already fucking things up, HH will be garbage this time next year. Mechanicum is already just stupid OP. As soon as D spam and formations become a thing, its over.
sup /tg/, I'm going to be getting a Contemptor dread, and I'm not sure what arms guns to get it. I will be magnetizing.
I already have a Cyclone/Havoc launcher conversion sitting on my desk.
I will get 1 Chainfist and 1 CCW for sure, and magnetize the hand guns.
I'm on the fence for a single Kheres. Is ruffing 1 CCW and 1 kheres worth it?
Would I ever run a Mortis with double Kheres?
Sell me/talk me out of the Kheres /tg/.
I play raven guard BTW.
Formations won't be coming to Age of Darkness. In the update to the Age of Darkness ruleset that is included in the (relatively) new Taghmata book FW made a point of stating that formations specifically and battle-forged/unbound army rules generally have no place in the AoD expansion.
What Mechanicum strategies do you consider Op out of curiosity? Castellan spam got a very large need although tank spam (particularly using the Ordo Reductor Matrix of Ruin) could be pretty obnoxious. That said graviton has haywire and Mechanicum tanks generally can't get ceramite so Astartes do still have answers to those builds.
Fixed page 69. Though to Scanon resizing for file size isn't necessary for me. I can get the file size down to the old scan norms regardless.
Here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/download/deadtdf0y47k59k/The+Horus+Heresy+Legiones+Astartes+Isstvan+Campaign.pdf
What do you mean how? The escape hatch essentially allows a deathstar unit to infiltrate, something that's either a party trick of specific Legions or applied to select (and not deathstar) units. It's a huge advantage at little cost.
The only units in AoD with D weapons are LoW's - knights and superheavy tanks. They don't fly, and they have restrictive rules and points costs. A Bloodthirster is OP at this stage of the HH.
Still private :(
It needs to be in CC to be effective and it strikes last, dont have EW and if Sigismund can take one out 1v1 then most primarchs will kill it much more reliably while a normal praetor with paragon blade can also take it out with a lucky 6 or at least shave off a couple of wounds.
Thanks man, the link's good.
When they're infiltrating at least the opponent has a shot at doing some damage to them first. Plus they don't get any other bonuses like IH's increased functional toughness or Salamander's resilience to flame weapons, etc.
Not b8/10. What's the points cost of a Bloodthirster?
>When they're infiltrating at least the opponent has a shot at doing some damage to them first.
You cant assault out of an escape hatch so the unit is stuck in the middle waiting to be shot at or charged for one turn.
4.5, you get the point across, but you could use some practice on paint control; look at the area on the top of the head where the metal plate meets the skin, and around the smaller metal fixtures on the legs, you should really work to try and neaten up after you put down your colors.
Its a lot better than just having primed or just bare plastic miniatures though, and I hope you practice and get better. I would also suggest asking the WIP general, they'll be able to give you better advice on this.
thin your paints a bit more, get some shit to practice on/get good at stripping.
Just focus on keeping your hands steady, and making sure you keep everything clean.
Take care of your brushes.
>When this building is first occupied, the owning player can place an escape hatch marker anywhere within 12" of the building that is not impassable terrain or within another building. The escape hatch marker is an additional Access Point for the building, but models using it cannot use the Repel the Enemy special rule.
Oh really? Where does it say that, was it changed in an FAQ?.
Does anyone know what the dimensions of the Dracosan are? I'm wondering if the Dreamforge Eisenkern APC (19 cm x 7.6 cm) would be a decent proxy.
>mfw no one actually plays Solar Auxilia
>mfw mere man has no place in the EoM's glorious crusade
So it uses the Malcador hull? I never noticed that.
So Dorn sucks rules why compared to the other Primarchs released.
How would you fix him and make his Legion buffs and Equipment more in line with the others?
Mechanicum aren't OP, Daemons have been an official army since Book Two (which first made them explicitly available as Word Bearers allies), and that formation business isn't new.
>The only units in AoD with D weapons are LoW's
The dude costs almost as much as a Knight even before he takes any upgrades, has essentially no shooting capability, attacks at I1, can't stomp, his wings only give him disadvantages except for the 12" normal movement (which Knights have too), takes a HQ slot which are limited to 3 (you can get 2 Knights, or most other LoW, for one slot in HH) so there's barely any difference there, and is so easily killed (compared to a Knight) that I wonder if you're just trolling.
Fellow XIX here. I have three contemptors; two are chainfist/kheres. The third has swappable arms for double kheres, volkite culverins and can be a third Chain/Kheres.
Double Kheres mortis is great in city fights while CCW/Kheres offers good coverage elsewhere. especially in an anvillus. I haev yet to try out chainfist/ccw with double grav in a pod but other XIX swear by them.
drop unwieldy and give his bolter assault for starters
Glad to learn that this apparently made it into the production phase, hopefully the IW one does as well.
I've always associated loli with more child than teenager, though it doesn't help that lolis are usually short in stature. Which on reflection is kind of funny since the idea of a loli acting child like an immediate turn off.
What the fuck did you say about the Lion, you little servitor? Lion El'Jonson graduated top of his class in monster hunting and has been involved in numerous secret raids on his own home planet, and has over 300 confirmed team-kills. He is trained in autistic warfare and is the prime primarch-puncher in the entire Imperium of Man. Your chapter is nothing to him but another group of friendlies to team-kill, and he will wipe them out with savant-like precision the likes of which hasn't been seen since the Great Crusade. You think you can get away with saying things like that over the webway? Think again, heretic. As we speak I am contacting The Rock and your fortress-monastery is being traced right now so you better prepare for the Unforgiven, heretic. The non-codex-compliant Unforgiven that'll team-kill the pathetic little thing you call your chapter. You're fucking dead, traitor. Lion El'Jonson could be anywhere inside The Rock at anytime, and he can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with his flowing mane. Not only is he extensively trained in the use of hair-care products, but he can also slay a Great Unclean One with a single smile from his pearly white incisors. If only you could have known what holy retribution your little "loyalist" heresy was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you Chaos-tainted Fallen. I will spam plasma all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, heretic.
I just realized I'm a mix of 40kid and a poorfag. I was looking at alternative ways to transport my list with custom-built Sigismund and custom-built Templars other than a Land Raider...and found myself on the Forgeworld website at checkout. $100 bucks for a Dreadclaw and $200 bucks for a Spartan. I love this setting, I love the armies, I love this community and reading this general so much more than the 40k one, but I honestly can't imagine paying 60 bucks extra for a sexier Drop Pod, or 150 bucks extra for a sexier Land Raider. I've decided to keep my army mostly plastic and conversions for now, and can't wait til I can afford these beauties later.
Sorry for the rant. I'm getting worked up/excited over toy soldiers.
Anon, it's fine. Getting exited over your toy soldiers means you're having fun and will for years to come. So just think of getting expensive stuff as a long term goal and put away some small amount of money every month. Eventually you will get there.
Get a job.
Even if your army is cheap, spending $100 on your army, and hundreds of hours painting it just to toss them in a plastic bag or cardboard box where they get damaged is stupid.
Invest in a good brush. Invest in a good protective transport.
So I wanted to start a 30k Word Bearers army. How do I start?
Just think of the shitstorm that would occur if they declared one of the First Founding chapters and all their successors traitors.
The Inquisition are too cucked to do anything, they'll let it slide
The guy second from the left really confused me for a while
So, I need someone with a couple of levels in DA fluff to tell me if my idea is shit or not-shit.
I've been wanting to use Cypher in 40k and start playing HH, so I was thinking: why not snag a copy of B@C and a DA conversion pack, and make a 30k DA army that will also be Cypher's Chosen in 40k (pre-heresy DA paint scheme and all)?
it's shit, isn't it?
Sounds fine, anon.
You know what would make CSM chosen better? If they had the Chosen SR from 30k and could all eat challenges. That combined with Champion of Chaos would make for a badass escort for an HQ.
Are breacher marines (or any of their unique variants) worth it outside Zone Mortalis?
I really like how they look, but I'd want them to be as useful as they are cool - not sure about special weapons, but I'd guess it gives them a bit more versatility
Ideally this would be in a Death Guard force, but in general is fine if there's not much experience playing them in DG
Hey, if I take Cypher and LotD as allies to an SoB force I can have a "Daemons of the Imperium" party!
E: Literally angry that captcha called what was pretty obviously a clementine (or a tangerine possibly) an "orange".
I did that with Space Wolves and they look fine. Maybe not very fancy, but they look the part.
You've got 3 options:
-DA Upgrade pack (cheap, but boring)
-DA Veterans squad (gives you 5 robed bodies for kickass Sergeants, but the 10 shoulderpads are all different)
- FW Stuff (expensive, and the heads are more knight-like, so they look weird on BaC)
After priming them black I put on a layer of dark grey, followed by a drybrushed layer of medium grey and that is followed by moderate highlights of bright grey.
I paint the cables, bolters and other open mechanical areas with Citadel's the Fang.
I put on metal colours where I need it.
I use crimson red for the red parts.
After all this I wash with Army Painter Dark Tone once. After they dry I put on another wash of Dark Tone on the Fang areas to achive more black effect.
After this I highlight the metal parts. Smooth out some too dark grey areas with a mix of dark and medium grey and I brigthen the red parts with some more crimson red.
For the wolf crest I I'm mix in a brightest red with the crimson to make it more vibrant.
Then I finish them off by painting the eyes with a white base, then I put Citadel Averland Sunset and top them off with a wash of Citadel Casandora Yellow.
I also highlight the brass with copper.
They are so inconsistent with Curzes fighting ability. Corax says he isn't that great. He flees from Lion 'el in the Flagship.
But then he takes on Guilliman and Jonson at once. Then Crazy Vulkan beats him. Then Sanguinius fights him one on one but is all like 'he is more than a match for me'.
Can confirm it's total dogshit though. Bought 2 to to use the best pieces of both kits - still looks totally shit and required so much work to clean up and straighten every fucking component.
Z, not even once (when it comes to vehicles anyway)
Yes they were. They were oaths of moment. Similarly the chaplain's black armor and skull helm were also around, but had a different meaning. In a way it's very true to real religions, where paraphernalia simply takes on a different meaning when the religion changes.
The issue with the DA sets are all the mk6 and mk 7 bits which are predominant on 40k sprues. With the robe over the kneepads its no big deal but add the helmets and all..
That said, there's so many DA bits out there I am sure it's possible to come up with enough variation that fits with the mkIV sets. The frightening thing is how much you might have to throw away.
Yeah my chinaman (coolcast) has been pretty decent. He's a little pricier but frankly you get what you pay for with chinaman. Armillus came out great besides his head (I just used a non helmeted head from BaC, almost literally the same) which I didn't feel like performing surgery on
I've got a storm eagle in the mail, I'll let yall know how that works out
So, with the FW kit I'll pay anally and the heads will look slightly retarded but the shoulderpads (etc.) will be the right sort and I'll get shit for the Termis and the Dread right?
>And by remembering that unless you want both Lorgar and Daemon allies in one list, you can happily ignore the Rite of War
How come? I've never seen Daemons mentioned outside "the Dark Brethren".
That's more complex
WB always had chaplains and BA always had wardens similar idea
The spread of chaplains was only after nicea partly to monitor the ex librarians and coincidentally spread the chaos lodges/ act against the primarchs
BA just kept their wardens but added the skull
Wolves already had the wolf priests and some others didn't bother with them - I don't recall any amongst the traitor legions strangely not even sons of Horus
30k is going to be painful on the wallet, yeah. But everyone who's moving over from any other GW game (and most other studios too, desu) will be used to that fact. Still there's a little cherry on top.
Me, I'll just order most of the resin from china. Balance it out with authentic plastics cause I really don't want the hassle of going through the resin process with all that stuff. And order a little from FW to give them their due (and to have a clean conscience). If all is right, it should balance out to about the same as a 40k army done with love.
Erebus, Kor Phaeron and Zardu Layak all allow you to take Daemon allies if they are the Warlord. So when Lorgar is around to take command you would have to use Dark Brethren. In any other case select whatever Rite suits you.
HH audiodramas are pretty great, but when it comes to books, written form is probably better (not to mention that early audiobooks cut out some arbitrary plot points that then were suddenly popping up in later books).
I thought that's what the black book was?
Only the very earliest of the audiobooks were abridged. They later released unabridged versions because they realized how stupid it was.
Ultramarines 2500 point list
void shield harness
X5 invictarus Suzerian X1 thunder hammer
master of signals
Legion breacher squad- 330
one breaching charge
X9 power swords
X2 legion recon squads -175
legion tactical squad -250
tactical squad -265
X1 power sword
X3 artificer armor
X2 augury scaners
X2 heavy weapons teams-285
the idea here is to use the recon squads to mark targets for my missile squads so they can reroll to wound (ultramarine rules). I think my only issue is having to deal with terminators. any suggestions?
And then we whiplash back to that time Konrad utterly destroyed Dorn. It's almost like this fluff is being written by a dozen different people who don't read each others books or discuss their storylines.
I thought hugest strength was Angrons thing?
They are harder to hit than regular termies and are likely to remove a bunch of them before the terminators have a chance to respond. Not to mention the Praetors attacks.
Thought I'd suggest an option which doesn't involve changing the list significantly. Otherwise drop the breacher squad and get some long range AP2, maybe a medusa.
>I'll mostly buy recasts, but if I buy a little from FW I'll have a clean conscience
What the fuck, if you're going to buy bootlegs, at least admit to yourself that you're doing the company a huge disservice.
how much would you rage if someone played a Taghmata with an especially sinister theme to emulate Dark Mechanicus with 3 20-man hordes of tech-thralls proxied by these? idea is some kind of demonic experiments
I HAVE A LATE CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR MY fa/tg/uy and girl FRIENDS
its the entire hours heresy in book and all the audio books too. one of the folders even has it in the actual order.
also, someone add this to the pasta
I'd like the idea more if the models were not sculpted in a distinctively non-gw style. You want that idea to blend in seamlessly rather than stand out.
And what the other anon said, more machine, less daemon.
