Okay, mad tactical skills.

Split into 3 groups. Team one sneaks to the east, team 2 sneaks to to flank on the west, and team 3 stays undercover to the north.

Skirmish begins with sniper attack on the captain, and then hail of fire from team 1 on the large group.

The large group will take cover against team 1 and retaliate.

Team 2 enters here and fires devastating attacks by attacking from their rear.

By this time the smaller alien group will arrive to attack team 2, which should be aware of their short time frame and hunker.

Team 3 waits for the small team to move past them, then repeat the same tactic and flank them from behind for massive damage.

The ambush was almost a success, When Malik took the shot at the captain, the bullet ricocheted into another soldier, this captain wore a white armour unlike the others, The captain was a woman, a small frail one. Three of the soldiers extended more of the damn shields around her as she collapsed into the ground.

What upgrades were available?

There's information overload on one side, and not enough prompts, alerts and "safeties" on the other. Plus some missing information base on last threads that wasn't mentioned at all. Some are new players or can't remember every detail.

It's problematic, and perhaps should be reviewed. If not by OP then by volunteers.

Despite the pain originating from the message, you struggled onwards, The other teams has dispatched the other advent soldiers quickly. A stray shot rendered Olga headless, She painted her comrades with her brain cells. there was little time for shock.

From the last encounter, you found that bullets are useless against these shields . Everyone lobbied their grenades against the helpless soldiers All of them died but the weak captain who had some sort of a psionic shield of her own, it took her a lot of strength to project it.

"YOU FUCKING WHORE!" With the butt of his rifle, Andrew hit her hard in the head destroying her communication device. She lied there weak, helpless and surrounded by your squad.

The armor mods that make them highly effective against Advent laser weapons, and the weapon mods which can be any reasonable write-in.

This is an XCOM quest. We're not going to be on Easy, this is an Iron Man run on Normal or Hard.
If you can't handle XCOM, then this obviously isn't the quest for you.

The whole Squaddie system is supposed to be automated, with each soldier being made into the role that you have the least of.

But, that doesn't work here. It worked in XCOM because there were only Assault, Sniper, Heavy, and Support, and we could always hire more.

For this, we can't, because there are specialist jobs like Hacker, that require we go and find special resources.
Don't give in to populist pressure that only leads to even worse decisions.

I'm checking the numbers from the previous thread, too.

When we got the 12 Rookies last thread, we had 5 Squaddies and no Rookies.
On the mission to the cloning facility, we took 5 Squaddies and 5 Rookies.
2 Rookies died, and 3 were promoted.
Smith also got promoted to Corporal.
That left 1 Corporal, 7 Squaddies, and 7 Rookies.

This thread's mission had us down 1 Squaddie, and we created a cell in France, so that's 5 less Rookies.
