You are Captain Hitsugaya, and you are a witness to the battle between the traitor Aizen and Captains Kusajishi and Shihōin.
Captain Ichimaru stands beside you, watching quietly as well. You've never been able to read the man's expression in the past, and you certainly can't do so now. However, it's also true that he's your only real conversation partner at the moment.
“Why are they fighting so erratically?” you ask Ichimaru. Captain Shihōin and Captain Kusajishi's strategies so far have seemed almost nonsensical, as if they're playing games with each other rather than fighting.
Ichimaru frowns, never taking his eyes off the combatants. “You've got talent, Captain Hitsugaya, but poor battle-sense. It's unplanned reactions that tell you the most about what the other guy's thinkin'.”
“So they really are just biding their time with games?”
“Sorta,” Captain Ichimaru nods. “None of 'em want to commit until they've got a better idea what will work. Captain Shihōin likely wants to hold her zanpakuto's techniques in reserve until she can discern their most effective use, while Captain Kusajishi's Bankai is hardly suited to teamwork. As for Captain Aizen, well... you'll see eventually.”
After a powerful blow to the back of Aizen's neck is repulsed in a flash of green light, all three fighters stop in place.
“I see,” Captain Kusajishi sighs. “I suppose we've been taking each other too lightly after all.”
“Indeed,” Aizen bows slightly in a rare gesture of what seems to be genuine respect. “For that I apologize. I will now try my hardest to kill you: anything short of that would be disrespectful.”
With that pronouncement, Aizen wraps what looks like a sheet of air around himself, the edges of his profile blending into the backdrop although he doesn't disappear entirely. What little of his spiritual pressure you could feel is gone now, and for a moment you can see that the Captains are taken aback as well.
Shockingly, it seems that the two Captains really haven't been able to see their foe for this entire time. They've been feeling their way using reiatsu sensing alone, and you're beginning to suspect that if you know it Aizen has realized it as well.
“Now, then,” Aizen seems to mock his opponents, slowly circling like a wolf circling a wounded deer. “Let us see how you fare when you can no longer sense my spiritual presence, nor look at me for fear of my Shikai.”
Captain Kusajishi and Captain Shihōin back cautiously up towards each other, facing outwards, waiting for the strike to fall. You have to wonder what they're thinking right now, how they intend to fight back against an invisible foe.
“Have at you.”
“Ah, it seems they're done with the overtures,” Ichimaru observes. “Now it's time for the first act.”
>Write-in for Riku's actions against Aizen
>Feel free to discuss, I'll weigh in with what Riku will know is and isn't viable, and we'll have a vote in fifteen minutes
The "Kido Net" Momo used in ch 334 works more like a spiderweb, which she then blows up by applying her Zanpkato to it.
So what we'd do is now that Azien is two keikakus deep, is to counter his counter to our counter of his Shikai by weaving this kido net, then premptively counter his counter to our counter of his counter to our counter of his Shikai by using Tenkotsuki's ability to "create minor illusions as part of a spell" to have the net be in slightly different positions than it appears so he blunders into it. Then we cast an extremely powerful spell through the net and hurt him badly.
A few ideas that have come from ask.fm:
>Force Aizen into a trap, probably using kido nets
>Use another sense to try and locate him
>Pump out enough reiatsu that you can sense him moving through it
That third one is basically trying to replicate hollow detection vs shinigami sixth sense, right? Can Tenkosuki cast that, giving us a general idea of where he is before filling that general space with fuckoff amounts of kido?
block the attack we can hear with Danku, and ready for an attack from the opposite side. That'll be another feint, so Utsusemi and catch the striking arm. If we miss, ready to parry and counter from one side while firing an AOE attack in the other direction. While doing that, have Tenkotsuki cast a restraining net at our feet
You could try and locate him using that technique, though neither Riku nor Tenkotsuki is particularly well-practiced with it. Simply pumping out a shitload of reiatsu would on its own allow some ability to sense where he is within a certain range.
>>Pump out enough reiatsu that you can sense him moving through it
That is the closest. Especially if RIku and Yoruichi can keep him roughly in the middle. and pick out the holes roughly.
That is kinda how the first stealth bomber was shot down.
So the discussion seems to have run its course, and I'd like to progress with the thread. The general ideas still seem to be as follows:
>Kido net entrapment
>Release a massive burst of reiatsu to sense his movements
>Counter his invisibility with invisibility
Listening for his movements and going into shikai will be assumed, and I'll give ten minutes to vote.
“Make no mistake, Captain Hitsugaya,” Ichimaru continues as Captain Shihōin almost seems to smile. “Lady Riku and Lady Yoruichi possess around twice the reiryoku of an 'average' Captain like you, no offense intended. Captain Aizen however possesses even more. Even I don't know exactly how strong it is, but three times the average is not out of the question.”
Captain Kusajishi nods sternly and takes a knee, drawing her sword.
“Prohibit, Tenkotsuki,” she declares, thrusting the point of the blade into the ground. From that spot spreads a thin spiderweb of glowing kidō, tracing an irregular pattern across the low hill the trio are standing on.
Meanwhile, Captain Shihōin seems to use the same spell Aizen did... but more so. Her entire body disappears along with her spiritual presence, prompting an amused chuckle from Aizen as he lifts himself over the net that runs low across the landscape and suspends his body in the air.
“Every bit the Onmitsu Commander. My compliments.”
“Raikōhō!” Aizen declares, releasing a powerful lance of electricity towards where the Captain stands.
Alerted to the attack, Captain Kusajishi turns on her heel. “Dankū!”
The spells clash in a powerful blast of reiatsu, shaking the whole area and provoking an appreciative whoop from Ichimaru.
“That's quite somethin',” he grins.
Aizen backpedals as Captain Shihōin's fist cracks the earth in front of him, reducing stone to a fine powder. But behind him, there's a sudden explosion from the spell Captain Kusajishi is maintaining, channeled straight from her sword to the point of the blast.
“That was close,” you observe as Aizen manages to use shunpo to get clear of the blast radius, though the singing on his haori tells you he didn't quite make it in time to avoid all of the damage.
“Indeed,” Ichimaru agrees.
The two Captains
>Continued as they were, trying very hard to chip away at Aizen
>Used shunkō to step up the pace
>Began targeting Aizen with other kidō, dividing their attention for a chance at more damage
>Began targeting Aizen with other kidō, dividing their attention for a chance at more damage
Tenko's unpredictable, augmented kidou will settle the score on who adapts faster in impromptu keikaku.
There are only four options. crit failing, failing, succeeding, or crit succeeding. It's not mediocure when most of our rolls tend to pass.
>His assessment of our reiryoku is also incorrect unless he somehow knows about our Bankai + Resurrección shenanigans.
Actually our Reiyoku already had the whole you can manifest external reiyoku techniques before we got our resurreccion.
>We probably told Yoro but he is the only one we know has seen it.
Perhaps using Dr. Science they were able to get bugs and find out more of Riku and Yoruchi's abilities.
I doubt it, likely just informed speculation on the part of Aizen.
pretty sure he's lowballing even with the information he has. He knows Aizen's paying attention to the sidelines, and saying "those three are all around the same level" would make him fight a lot more carefully than hearing he's the strongest
Captains Kusajshi and Shihōin prepare to receive Aizen's next attack... or at least you assume that's what Captain Shihōin is doing at the moment. Not being able to see her hinders your ability to determine her exact posture.
Aizen takes the initiative. “Sōkatsui!”
The broad wave of azure reiatsu courses towards Captain Kusajishi head-on, the rushing wind whipping at her haori as she raises one hand to meet it. “Dankū!”
But even as the blast is dispersed by the powerful barrier, Aizen is already in motion. For a second your eyes lose track of him, before he reappears behind Captain Kusajishi. Ichimaru winces as the blade slashes across the Captain's back... you could have sworn that would have killed her, but at the last possible second she steps forward and retrieves her sword from the ground before her in the same stride. Blood arcs behind her as she spins on the spot, furiously shouting the name of a spell you've rarely heard.
“Hadō 78: Zangerin!” The attack produced is a powerful halo of expanding golden reiatsu, no doubt focused to a razor's sharpness at the leading edge and boiling furiously at the trailing inner edge. Aizen disappears again, appearing above Captain Kusajishi as he falls towards her. The two extend hands towards each other at the same time, though the loyal Captain is just a bit quicker to get her attack out.
“Sōkatsui!” she shouts, making her strategy obvious: even as she released the Zangerin, she mist have somehow been planning to release the wider blast from the only possible avenue of attack. Having realized the ruse Aizen barely manages to defend himself... from Captain Kusajishi at least.
In a wordless cry of fury you see that Captain Shihōin flickers in and out of view, the spell hiding her overwhelmed by the power of her attack as she pummels Aizen from behind. Some of the punches are blocked with that technique you've seen Aizen use a few times already, but others get through.
Aizen rolls out of the way, stumbling during his shunpo before managing a defensive stance.
“You used that composed attack as a cover,” Aizen nods, wiping a bit of blood from the corner of his mouth.
The two Captains seem to rally as well, though Captain Kusajishi is clearly wounded.
“Very well,” Aizen continues solemnly. “I had wished not to use such measures, but perhaps it is time to set petty pride aside.”
Aizen raises his sword, positioning it across his eyes as if gazing deeply into the glistening steel of its blade.
“Shatter, Kyōka Suigetsu...” he declares to his own zanpakuto, and his reiatsu explodes. No spell now could hope to hide such power.
“What's he doing now?” Captain Ichimaru muses nervously.
The two Captains...
>Countered with shunkō
>Countered with abilities that seemed too much like those of hollows for comfort
>Stopped just short of Bankai
>Went at Aizen full-tilt
>>Countered with abilities that seemed too much like those of hollows for comfort
>“Shatter, Kyōka Suigetsu...”
Oh shit nigga its on
Rolled 9, 3, 5 = 17 (3d10)
>dice+3d10, DC 8
And yes, Aizen just used his own sword to hypnotize himself, drawing out his full reiryoku as if he were in Bankai fighting all-out.
This battle has reached a new stage, ladies and/or gentlemen.
Motherfucker the tide was never in our favor.
You act like we was a hard nigga when we was just one of those graphite niggas, not some stone nigga.
I lost track of what I was saying halfway through, is it obvious?
You guys should have voted for the hollow abilties. At least we can stop any blood loss with blute. I prey our Resurrection gives us some kind of regen. Other wise any extremities we lose will be gone for good.
“Speaking of which, Aizen, I hadn't wanted to use this either.” Captain Shihōin replies as her uniform billows from the overwhelming power rolling off Aizen's body. Captain Ichimaru wasn't kidding, Aizen's power is far greater than what you possess. But this isn't a Bankai... so what is it?
All thoughts of Aizen's sudden and dramatic increase in power cease when Captain Shihōin seemingly dons a mask produced from thin air. Her power skyrockets as well, though not to the level Aizen's did.
“This'll have to be our little secret,” the Captain continues, her voice sounding distorted and resonant.
Meanwhile Captain Kusajishi draws her second sword, which you haven't seen her touch so far. “Raze, Kobara no Tachi...”
You can see changes to the second Captain as well, seven spectral vulpine tails waving behind her back. The second sword disappears from her hand, and her first has taken on a violent, talon-like appearance in her hand. Her power is much greater than yours as well, perhaps enough to challenge Aizen in his current state... were she not wounded already from the previous exchange.
“Now this is what I have waited for!” Aizen exclaims, taking a tightly-focused and amazingly quick slash at Yoruichi, who parries with the side of her left fist and tries to follow through by driving her right knee into his ribs. Aizen counters with an albow-strike to the Captain's raised knee, turning his sword carefully around the back of his head to parry a strike from Captain Kusajishi with a small disk of reiatsu.
With a start, Aizen forces his attackers away with a pair of spinning strikes as his shield begins to burn away at the point of contact with Captain Kusajishi's blade.
“Remarkable,” Gin interrupts as the trio continue to exchange a series of powerful blows in close range that don't quite connect, each delivered with blinding speed and precision at a level well above what you assumed even a Captain could do. “I've never seen any of these techniques before.”
“You sound surprised,” you observe, raising an eyebrow. “It's almost reassuring to hear that sort of tone from you. Makes me feel less out of the loop than I would otherwise.”
“None of them are having any luck,” Ichimaru continues.
>The two Captains put on a massive, short-lived burst of strength from shunkō
>The two Captains continued their tactics, using even more exotic and hollow-like techniques
>The two Captains combined their kidō techniques for maximum effect
That only stops bloodloss. Any loss of like say an eye or hand isn't something that should fix us.
>>The two Captains continued their tactics, using even more exotic and hollow-like techniques
>No, he doesn't. And that should alarm you.
You said we were on Aizen's level.
Riku is fighting at a disadvantage against a very intelligent and capable foe, and has been making things harder on herself through some of her decisions. She's also not going all-out yet, and has taken a serious wound.
The situation isn't dire, but right now you're losing.
Okay people. This and all the other subitle hints queen has been giving means you guys need to stop pussy footing around and playing it cautions. It's making us fucking lose. Aizen could very well cripple riku and yoruichi permanantly or even kill one of them if you don't stop holding back.
Aizen rolled a 10 and a 9, meaning he definitely succeeded as well. The resolution was that Aizen got Riku good, but Riku set up Yoruichi to get in her licks.
Remember this well: winning the battle but losing the war is more than just a saying. It's a distinct possibility.
Rolled 7, 5, 7, 2 = 21 (4d10)
>3d10, DC 7.
>Aizen gets a small adjustment for going full-tilt, because 3d10 best of 1 isn't a fair reflection of his abilities. His DC will be raised accordingly.
>winning the battle but losing the war is more than just a saying. It's a distinct possibility
which is why I really hope we can hold him of until he leaves without using bankai. We already gave him a lot by using Kobara no Tachi
Rolled 1, 9, 10 = 20 (3d10)
It's a short lived powerful burst of Shunko. Which means that if we don't take out aizen using it we will be weaker then before we used it when it ends. Honestly are you still going to say it's just an opinion if I turn out to be right?
I think that is the stupidest statement I have seen. That or I'm not understanding because you aren't being clear enough.
Do you mean that even if I am proven right that unless king says I was then it's still my opinion? Cause if so then you should know that's pretty much the same as refusing to believe the sky is blue because god hasn't said it is.
Not that anon, but I didn't notice he was "spitting" blood. So I went back an reread, and wiping a bit of blood from his lip doesn't evoke the same severity as "spitting blood" does.
I can see why he was upset, he may have misinterpreted or even (as was my case) failed to notice that bit.
There are more factors than we ourselves know or realize, thus acting like "oh, look, my hypothesis was correct" while not knowing every single variable involved doesn't mean you have a fact on your hand.
"Oh, look, we used shunko now we are weak!" even though he may have sliced our stomach open, which is kind of a big deal and would fuck us regardless.
You can't take a very broad idea and act like that very broad idea counts as objective fact just because of a possibly coincidental or even entirely unrelated outcome.
So yeah, your "fact" would still be opinion until clarified by King.
Captain Shihōin leads with the attack, pouncing on Aizen with a ferocity that reminds you more of a wild beast than a warrior. Her hands swipe like claws at her foe, and you catch a glimpse of her mask: the visage of a terrible Jaguar is there, like something culled from the fevered, apocalyptic nightmares of a Mesoamerican shaman. Her fingertips slam into Aizen's Dankū... and amazingly, they crack it under the weight of the assault.
“Cero Rastrillar!” she roars in a voice not her own, and from her fingers she releases powerful, slashing blades of razor-sharp reiatsu that destroy Aizen's barrier like she's shredding a newspaper.
Aizen falls back in alarm, narrowly avoiding a cut across his arm, while Captain Kusajishi raises her arm and extends her index finger. She gathers an immense cero... for that's what it is, hard as it is to believe... before unleashing it straight towards the engaged Captains Shihōin and Aizen.
The former dodges in an instant as the thin, immensely quick beam comes up behind her.
The latter doesn't dodge, instead electing to block the shot with that hexagonal green barrier. To your shock, the barrier doesn't seem good for much.
“Oh?” Ichimaru exclaims as the beam penetrates Aizen's left shoulder.
Aizen winces in pain, but extends his own fingertips. “Raikōhō!”
The kidō catches Captain Shihōin in the side as she reappears after her dodge, sending her crashing to the ground. She rolls back onto her feet, but the bleeding from under her ribs looks bad and her reiatsu seems to be fluctuating. Whatever technique she's using must take significant effort to maintain under duress.
Far as I can tell, not really, also apparently Yoruichi can keep it up literally forever should she choose to. So that's pretty neat.
Then again, I'm using shitty discount wiki, so take it with a grain of salt.
>Or because it was against fucking Aizen
How is that a counter to what I said? It supports what I said. The dc was a seven because that wasn't likely to let us beat aizen.
Shunko is the option that won.
Fuck no. I expected it to be lower because that means that plan is like to actually work.
Yes because opinions are never formed from logic and careful going over facts and observations.
Wait I thought using shunko won?
Aizen's seemingly wounded as well, now bleeding from his shoulder and the corners of his mouth, while Captain Kusajishi is breathing heavily, blood dripping slowly down her back.
The two Captains may not be able to keep this pace up indefinitely with their injuries, while Aizen's reiatsu is unwavering. There's also something to his presence that alarms you... almost at a primal level. It's not like his foes, whose reiatsu reminds you increasingly of hollows: in a way, it's even more foul. It weighs on your mind the longer you're exposed to it.
>The Captains launched a joint, all-out attack using kidō the likes of which you've never seen.
>Kusajishi released her Bankai, and Yoruichi seemed to collapse from the strain added to that of her wounds.
>The Captains closed with Aizen, seeking to beat him in pure speed despite their state.
>Wait I thought using shunko won?
>his entire argument BTFO
My fucking sides have left orbit.
>The Captains launched a joint, all-out attack using kidō the likes of which you've never seen.
Trying to force Aizen to use his bankai first.
Or at least see if regen will kick in. I really hope it does.
>Wanting to kill our wife
Out, Get the fuck out.
>The Captains launched a joint, all-out attack using kidō the likes of which you've never seen.
also Riku needs to try and dispel his self-hypnosis
2v1 is better than 1v1, unless we wind up being three times as strong as we are now
>The two Captains may not be able to keep this pace up indefinitely with their injuries, while Aizen's reiatsu is unwavering. There's also something to his presence that alarms you... almost at a primal level. It's not like his foes, whose reiatsu reminds you increasingly of hollows: in a way, it's even more foul. Well this should settle any complaints people have about us feeling like hollows. As much as they might like that Aizen apparently feels like something worse.
The word seemed is the important one.
>2v1 is better than 1v1, unless we wind up being three times as strong as we are now
Aizen sits at s-. Bankai and resurection released puts us at a solid S.
collapsing isn' dieing, Anon. Plus Aizen would have to focus fully on us in bankai, while yuroichi risks further injury continuing the fight. This is a setting where little girls get cut in half and come back to fight another day.
there are people who want to knock out Yoruichi
>there are people who want Aizen to know what our Bankai is
>there are people who didn't read what Queen said about winning the battle but losing the war
>Reiatsu Class: A+ (Advanced Captain); S- when fully released
>Kusajishi released her Bankai, and Yoruichi seemed to collapse from the strain added to that of her wounds.
No more holding back Anon's its time to go all out. He hurt the fluffy tails! That is unforgivable!
I just assumed we were going to kill him by winning the battle. He can't use reiatsu to escape within a certain radius of us, and we're one of the fastest shinigami alive (dead?).
If we killed him then we will have won both the battle and the war. Winning the battle but losing the war means winning a battle but losing the war because it didn't matter enough tactically.
Aizen is still going strong despite his injuries. I think this is going to end in his favor and with us dead barring us getting surprise reinforcements consisting of Yamamoto and his students. Or gin breaking cover to save us.
we need to keep our bankai in reserve unless we will straight-up die without using it. because Aizen isn't going to die here, and if he sees our bankai he can start planning around it
Not when you are loosing and can take away a lot of his abilites while making at one v one.
Now this is an opinion. Taking away aizens ability to use kido would majorly tilt things in our favor.
That's a bit meta Anon. Riku doesn't know that Aizen will survive this. (Neither do we. Canon has been taken out behind a shed and shot several times and then burned alone with the shed.)
Captain Shihōin sprints to one side of Aizen, while Kusajishi takes the other side and casts an unincanted spell that shoots a sizzling rope of reiatsu towards Aizen. “Hainawa!”
“How silly, Lady Riku,” Aizen chides as he easily sidesteps the attack. “This could not...”
But to Aizen's surprise, Yoruichi seems to pick up on Riku's plan and catches the rope. Both Captains dash past Aizen and entangle him in the spell stretched between the two of them. Captain Shihōin gestures towards the rogue Captain with two fingers outstretched. “Rikujōkōrō!”
It is now that Riku begins her own incantation.
“Limit of the ten thousand hands, respectful, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky...” Reiatsu begins to gather around her as she prepares whatever attack she has planned.
“I see,” Aizen muses. “So that was...”
Yoruichi cuts him off, extending her palms to each side before bringing them together, her fingers interwoven. A fresh spurt of blood dribbles from her wounded side. “Bakudō 99, Part 1: Kin!”
As Aizen is pinned in place by powerful cloth wrappings and heavy iron anchors, bright, crackling lances of energy gather around him, each seemingly aimed straight for his heart. From these a darkness begins to seep like oil spreading over the surface of a vast, invisible surface in the air. How is such a thing possible... Captain Kusajishi seems to be casting Hadō #90 and #91 at the same time, while only using the incantation for one of the two.
“The road basks in light, the wind ignites the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to hesitate, obey my orders...”
With Aizen adequately pinned by Kin, Yoruichi begins her own entwined chant. “Walls of iron sand, carriage of thunder, a priestly pagoda, bridge of a spinning wheel, glowing ironclad fireflies. Standing in the light, silent to the end, divide in six!”
>underestimating Aizen's ability to not die
>overestimating Riku's ability to kill Aizen
>not taking subtle hints that we won't be killing Aizen, at best we can have a decisive victory that forces him to withdraw
That being said, all of this is meta. Don't be meta, in either direction.
Meanwhile the darkness around Aizen begins to spread even further as the bright lances grow, now burning an angry purple as power surges through them. Each now could easily kill a Lieutenant with a solid hit, and probably maim on a near miss. And they're growing stronger still as she chants.
“Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, ashen tower...”
With a clap of her hands, Yoruichi simultaneously strengthens her first spell even as Aizen begins to break Kin, and five interlinked iron pillars appear high above the battlefield before slamming Aizen to the ground in a resounding crash. From his hand, something falls to the ground. “Gochūtekkan!”
This leaves Riku free to complete her own incantations, both spells having fully formed around their victim. Aizen is now completely surrounded by a hemisphere of inky blackness, its surface broken only by the dozen or so furious spears of energy aimed at the sphere's origin and intended victim.
“Aim far away and scatter cleanly when fired!”
“Hadō 91: Senjū Kōten Taihō!”
“Hadō 90: Kurohitsugi!”
Reality itself seems to warp around the combined spell as the spherical Kurohitsugi contains the tremendous blast of a fully-incanted Senjū Kōten Taihō, sending ripples through the air and soil all around the Execution grounds. Then the Kurohitsugi begins to crush inwards, further amplifying the destructive power by focusing everything within its boundaries into a single point.
When the dust settles there's no sign of Aizen, nor of the hilltop where they were fighting. But the two remaining Captains stand once more back to back. Both are out of breath, and Captain Shihōin's mask crumbles away to dust.
“... even that wasn't enough?” Captain Ichimaru mutters, clearly dismayed. Increasingly, you feel like you can't discern whose side the man is loyal to. Something about his apparent concern for Captain Kusajishi...
Honestly I feel like this is at least partially an endurance match, like if Ukitake, Kyouraku, Unohana, Kenpachi, or Yamamoto show up, I'm pretty sure Aizen might be fucked (to a certain extent).
From a tear in reality itself, Aizen re-emerges. His eyes are wide and his glasses absent, along with his entire left arm from the elbow down. He thrusts his sword into the dirt, and produces a thin silver tube which he jabs into the stump. Before your eyes, the severed limb seems to sprout like a bloody bamboo shoot. Just watching it gives you a sympathetic pain in your own arm.
Panting gently, he tests the fingers. His condition is now quite ragged, even with the regeneration effect.
“It's good that you didn't drop your guard. Very well done, Captains.”
The Onmitsu Commander offers a tired smirk. “I see you didn't have the good grace to die, Aizen. The real question is how.”
“To survive that sort of attack you'd have had to simply... ah, I see,” Captain Kusajishi seems to realize the trick. “So that's how you did it.”
“No... Negacion?” Captain Shihōin asks in astonishment.
“You seem surprised, Captain,” Aizen shrugs nonchalantly. “I had intended this to be a punitive measure against unruly subordinates, sealing them into a pocket dimension. Using it to escape... that was quite a terrifying attack.”
“More importantly... how did you get shinreiryoku?”
… what was that last word?
“Well, I owe that to you Captain Kusajishi,” he explains. “At least, in a manner of speaking. I was trying to replicate your feat of traveling effortlessly between the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.”
Aizen pauses for dramatic effect. “I failed spectacularly. But where the very clever and strong fail, there lies also opportunity. That's how I found the silver city that lies in the shadows: purely by accident while trying to imitate you, Captain.”
“It can't be...” Kusajishi breathes.
“Yes, I speak of Silbern.”
“... what did you do, dammit?!” Kusajishi demands loudly. “Aizen, what have you DONE!?”
“And what would you have done in my place?” Aizen asks calmly. “A city in the shadows, the weakened spawn of a God at your fingertips, and an orb of immense possibility in your palm?”
“I took what remained of his shinreiryoku and made it my own, but it seems hardly adequate. It will do for now, but I'm afraid that for now this is where our paths must..."
>dice+3d10, DC 6
You done goofed, You made Riku Tenkotsuki AND Rosa mad!
Well played, you bastard.
Yer still a cunt, boyo!
Indescribable rage fomr Rosa in Three...Two...One....
Well this is good and bad news. Bad news is he got what was left of Yhwach's shinreiryoku. Good news is he has now made this an issue of the quincies and given everyone a common enemy to unify against. Even better news he shouldn't know we have shinreiryoku.
Below you, far below... you sense a massive spiritual power. It's easily a match for any of the three remaining Captains in their weakened states, and unlike Captains Shihōin and Kusajishi its presence is entirely that of a hollow.
First, Tōsen's reiatsu vanishes in an instant. Death came to him swiftly, and the new presence grows stronger.
Then it appears: a man in white, with a bizarre and bony crest on the side of his face. A sword is thrust into his sash, and he surveys the scene with some amusement. You also can't fail to notice the prominent hole in his upper chest
“Ah, to breathe once more the free air... I could drink it like a fine wine, señoritas!” the man says, raising his hands and turning in place for dramatic emphasis.
“Who are you and where did you come from?” Captain Kusajishi demands.
The newcomer rests his hand on his forehead, as if mortified. “Ah, perdóname por favor! Where are my manners!? I am Arturo Plateado, pleased to make your acquaintance! And who might you two lovely señoritas be? I take it I have you to thank for the early ending of my encarcelación?”
>You gave be a name, but who are you really?
>Hold on, I'd like to make a call.
You should not have fucking done that Aizen
>Hold on, I'd like to make a call.
We MUST get him on our side!
I would like to say you are underestimating two deific figures
but I forget how silly Arturo's PL is since I never bothered to play that game, nor look him up as I assumed he wasn't canon.

>And for a couple days now, honestly
Wait a minute. Why the fuck is the captaincy test on top of excution hill? All it takes is one retard going full power in bankai and be capable of making a strong enough blast to let this fuck loose.
You are met by a series of powerful fighters: Captains Yamamoto, Ukitake, and Kyōraku are first, followed shortly thereafter by Unohana and Komamura. Even Lieutenants show up, including Matsumoto who is on her denreishinki.
“Everyone stay back!” Captain Kusajishi shouts at the assembling Captains. “This one just absorbed Tōsen!”
“And so?” Arturo persists, seemingly disregarding the company.
Captain Kusajishi nods quietly. “Yes.”
“I see, then I shall endeavor to kill you and your familia last of all!” Arturo declares, ripping open a hole in the air and stepping into it. “But though I may show a little mercy make no mistake, I am no saint. All of you shinigami are going to die, just like that Captain downstairs. I only wish I could have seen the look in his eyes...”
Captain Shihōin places a hand against Captain Kusajishi, who seems to have begun to move to stop the interloper. She shakes her head, and Kusajishi seems to relax as Arturo disappears. In this state, attacking recklessly may just strengthen this enemy and they both know it.
Aizen, in the mean time, simply watches in what seems nearly like astonishment. “I... for once, I don't quite understand what just happened, but I should probably leave now.”
A column of pale yellow light extends from a widening crack in the sky: Negacion, a technique used by menos to recover one of their own. In this case... Aizen.
“Captain Aizen!” Ukitake frowns, taking center stage. “Have you really sunk so far as to ally yourself with the menos?”
“Alliance?” Aizen muses. “No. They serve me. Gin?”
A beam extends down towards Captain Ichimaru...
How the fuck does someone get so strong? Did an entire country die and every single inhabitent hollowfy and merge?
Also, Gin probably could snipe him right here and now, but that means giving up his trump card.
>Aizen, in the mean time, simply watches in what seems nearly like astonishment. “I... for once, I don't quite understand what just happened, but I should probably leave now.”
He so rarely gets surprised in life, this whole thing must of been an adventure.
... who takes a single step forwards. The yellow column of light misses him entirely.
Aizen stares at him in bemusement. "Gin? What are you doing?"
"I think it's time for us to part, Aizen," Ichimaru replies calmly, raising his middle finger towards the errant Captain. You see two more beams in the distance, no doubt collecting other surviving collaborators of Aizen's apparent conspiracy.
Aizen seems legitimately surprised. "Why would you sacrifice your chance to kill me like this? I don't understand your mind, Gin."
"Oh, believe me," Ichimaru smiles coldly. "Whether you die at my hands or those of another is little concern to me. So long as you are dead, it does not matter whether the venom of a snake or the bite of the sword is responsible."
"In any event..."
"Gin..." Aizen mutters dangerously even as he's withdrawn into the void above.
Gin continues to smile. "Hey, Lady Riku? Were you aware that you can avoid Aizen's shikai ability if you are touching his weapon before he releases it?"
"I wasn't," Kusajishi shakes her head with a smile to rival Ichimaru's.
"You see, information is a great weapon," Ichimaru continues. "In the right hands, truly devastating. And I have been quite successful in gathering evidence against you these last hundred years. Evidence I'm really going to enjoy sharing."
"Is that so?" Aizen muses. "What brought on this change of heart?"
"There are some things even a snake finds hard to swallow," Ichimaru replies, suddenly deadly serious.
If yamamoto can accept us fighting a secret shadow war against aizen he can PROBABLY be argued into accepting that a double agent who didn't want to show their hand before the right moment.
You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and god DAMMIT your injuries hurt. Kaido stems the blood loss, and you're finally free to remove your sunglasses with Aizen having left.
"I'm fine for now," Yoruichi mutters, bleeding profusely from an open wound on her side. She's definitely NOT fine.
>Emergency patch-job on Yoruichi
>Jab her with a dose of that healing serum
>Get someone else on the case, examine the results of the day's battles
Tosen was never his ally.
Still thank fucking god we are going to need all captains on deck and what allies we can grab to deal with Arturo and aizen. Otherwise our arrancar allies would probably have a lot less freedom to help out then they will have. And thank god aizen gave us a reason for the quincies to get involved.
As far as I can tell he ended up getting pretty much jack shit out of this string of plots.
Tosen and Gin aren't available to him any more, the spear he wanted the fragments of should be taken care of, he didn't grab any snazzy new plot rocks, didn't even see our Bankai, and we didn't even have a chance to throw Starrk and company at him.
Yeah, but he still has his bankai to use.
And it seems like pretty much every bankai goes off the wall in silliness relating to the shikai.
OMG has a technique which "engulfs his body in heat which reaches a temperature upwards of 15,000,000 degrees". Like, the fuck even, man.
Asking the best healer in the seireitei who's standing right over there and is completely uninjured to do the healing seems like a no-brainer, but the fact that there's a vote for this makes me feel mildly suspicious.
Unless it's a test to see if people are awake enough to have basic reasoning skills?
He might work up a partnership with Arturo somehow, but yeah showing his hand doesn't really seem to have gained him anything, beacause he already got Mayuri on his side as well as absorbing Ywach's remains back when he was pretending to be good.
Let's see how he learns from this.
“Retsu,” you ask Captain Unohana quietly, trying not to make it painfully obvious that you're deeply concerned about Yoruichi's wounds. “I need you to do something for me.”
Unohana takes a look at your wife's side, and nods gently. “I understand, Captain. If Lady Yoruichi will stand still, I will heal her. Please leave it to me.”
You then join Yamamoto, stretching your senses to survey the events: there are wounded around Ninth Division, though none of your Commandos are in life-threatening danger. It seems the fight there went poorly for the Fifth Division stationed there. Also in rough shape is Ichigo's group: it seems your nephew managed to defeat Byakuya during your pitched battle. Both fighters are heavily wounded, though it's clear they're receiving medical attention as well.
“This could have been worse,” you comment, as the Head Captain seemingly examines the situation as well.
He nods sagely. “The Central 46 are dead.”
“I saw that,” you mutter. “Can't say I'm too broken up, but losing the “civil” government... it was a heavy blow in its own right.”
Rangiku tugs on your haori. “Captain, I can't get through to them.”
“I called them in, I though they'd be able to help...”
Several spiritual presences appear all around you, each one painfully familiar. All around the scene of your battle, Captains and other officers stop where they stand to gawk at what's just happened. Ukitake in particular seems not to believe his eyes.
“Captain Kusajishi?” Halibel asks calmly at your side. “Did we arrive too late to be of assistance?”
You sigh, rubbing at your temples in frustration. "Well, shit.”
And that's probably the place to stop for the night. My head's killing me and it's getting really late, so the East coast is probably gone already. Hope you enjoyed the ride so far... the cold war starts now. Aizen and Arturo are both plotting separate plots, and it's on Riku's band of miscreants to lead the defense.
Archive is up, and thanks for playing! See you next time, look to Twitter to see when that will be.
Arturo would have #rekt someone's shit.
They will, though in what capacity has yet to be decided. Many of them are dead in this timeline, with no Yhwach hax to bring them back.
Well, this is going to be awkward. It's honestly kinda a shame that Aizen didn't bring reinforcements, it'd help our case if everyone got to see Starrk and Halibel curbstomping his arrancar.
Once we get some fast talk in, it might be a good idea to split the arrancar among the other captains/divisions, let them keep an eye out and show them around. It ought to assuage some paranoia and give us a chance to stick Shunsui and Starrk together so they can become best friends.
>So, you wanna go get drunk with an Arrancar?
>You know... sure. Why not. In fact, let's all get drunk. Bring the ladies too, it'll be like a party!
>*sounds of Shunsui being strangled to death by his Lieutenant*
I honestly think we could all go for that right now. Even ichigo This whole situation has gone to complete and utter shit.
>Aunt Riku I'm to young to dri-
>Drink the damn saki.
>drink it now.
Speaking of best cat, this would be a hilarious time to casually mention that we're married, just to drop one more surprise on everyone.
But I imagine we'll keep it private, out of habit if nothing else.
Many of whom you helped make into Arrancar in the first place. You and Yoruichi both used hollow abilities during the fight with Aizen as well. Captains will have felt that, and Hitsugaya saw it firsthand.
Ignoring context and intent, that'd be enough to have Riku and Yoruichi summarily executed. As things stand there will be a camp that seeks their expulsion, but once all the cards are on the table Yamamoto will be very hesitant to allow that to happen.
I'm not overly worried about the ones who want to exile us. There's too much support behind Riku and Yoruichi for them to get far with the Central 46 gone.
The Shihōin and Shiba families which all together covers our Ninth which I think has four Bankais all together, Soi Fon's Second, Best Cat's Onmitsukidō, and Kaoru's Kido corps. Gin and his Third division are with us, Ukitake and Kyoraku like us, OMG needs heavy hitters like us and five friendly arrancar, and Kenpachi would be downright petulant if they made two people who can give him a good fight leave.
I doubt Wolfy and Ice-brat will cause much of a fuss after today, Unohana would deal with any problems she has with us personally, after getting his ass kicked Byakuya will hopefully just go along with OMG,
The rest of the divisions won't be able to get much traction since their Captains are traitors and either dead or gone. So unless some of the Clans manage to cause us an inordinate amount of trouble, we'll be peachy.
Komamura's in charge ever since those two where separated. It's the science division which will have a succession crisis, though I believe either Nemu (if she's still here) or Akon will be in charge.
