A civ of Gnolls re-purposing small islands into floating battleships with cannons and blunderbusses sounds right up my alley.

Gnolls

1 Ship (Name needed)

45 Gnoll Ship Hands

1 Gnoll Alpha (Name needed)

15 Elf Slaves

The last raid was a bad one, the small Elven town turned out to have had a magus in it and his fire had claimed the lives of a dozen of your crew. Numbers that your clan wouldn’t be able to recover for quite some time, given that before your father’s death he had succumbed to madness and slaughtered the majority of the females. A shout from below deck catches your ear, a few snarls and the sound of bones breaking and a Gnoll is brought up to the deck. His left arm twisted in an unnatural position, eyes drooping. “This one was found eating one of the cargo, what would you have us do?” Your first mate is a huge brute of a Gnoll, with a savage scar down his face from when he first tried to usurp your father, and failed.

Are Gnolls really based off of hyenas?
because IRL hyenas are an SJW's dream come true
>>
>>37142553
The "Hyanas are more like cats" Is the same kind of thing as pointing out how one of Manatees closest relatives are fucking elephants. It's a fucked up species. Really no sense in comparing them to either cats or dogs.
>>
So what would you have done to the Gnoll who thought (or didnt think) to kill and eat one of your hard fought for pieces of Elven cargo?
[Kill him]
[Flog him in front of the crew]
[Let him off with a warning]
[Bind him and leave him to the elves]

Don't want to look weak, but we still need our crew alive to operate the ship.

Why?
>>
>>37142620
flog him and then send him to the brig
you want to remain in our crew? you need discipline.
>>
>>37142620

Also, name the alpha as Mr. Rabies
>>
>>37142681
He's an idiot who thinks that because one species of hyena is matriarchal and has a external vagina commonly called a "pseudo penis" it makes the animal SJW related.
>>
>>37142681
{Flog him in front of the crew}

The deck of your ship is slick with blood and the hound who dared devour your cargo hangs by his wrists from a pair of posts. "Remove him and take him down to the Bones." The command is carried out instantly by your first mate and another crewhand.
Turning to your now dissipating crew going back to their labors you have to make a call.

How big is our ship? Do we have any guns on it? Do slaves bring in a pretty penny?

Just wondering if we should recruit more crewmen.

Should head home, dump off a majority of the elves to keep for eating or labor. Then go to free port to sell the rest of the elves for goods or equipment and find other sorry saps to rob.
>>
>>37142888
>[Head to Free Port]

Best not to push our luck. We should unload what we've got at the port and restock before we go raiding again.
>>
>>37142888
lets head for home to recruit some replacements and/or hold elves for ransom
>>
>>37142945
Glad someone asked because I wasnt sure til now
The Bloodletter has no cannons or deck guns and relies completely on boarding action and its incredible speed to combat other ships and raid. Its a fairly small ship, focused on speed and stealth rather than cargo space and firepower. Your father was well known for his ruthless and bloodthirsty raids that left no survivors or living cargo.

Not hours from home you are brought from your cabin by shouts and the scent of panic. "SHIP OF THE PORT BOW!" Now alarm bells are being rung and Gnolls burst from below deck. From behind an island a ship. White wood bow with bright blue trim, a angled, bright gold and blue sail is taught against the wind. An elf ship.
Even from here you can see deck ballista are being angled towards your ship. A particular lucky shot sails through the air and skewers a Gnoll, hurling him from the side of your ship.

"BLOOD ND DEATH!" You sure are your fathers son, at your order the crew unfurls the sails and you stagger slightly at the fierce wind at your back. Your ship launches like a spear towards the elves. From this distance you can see their broadside, dozens or arrows fly through the air and into your ship. Your Gnolls are experienced sailors and warriors, ducking behind cover and howling together. With a crushing jolt your ship crashes into the elven galley.

The elven ship is well manned, to say nothing else. The side of their ship is a wall of bristling spears and tall shields, but you can see something particularly perfect in their eyes. Fear. You charge before you even consider fleeing, in your hands a pair of curved axes, at your back your crew, your maw gapes wide with a slavering howl.

You smash into the closest elf shield and for a moment you are taken aback. Was a child holding this? It topples like a toy, the elf behind it gasping for air from a ruined throat. BLOOD. The crimson geyser is the last thing needed to send you over the edge. Your axes fall to the floor almost as quickly as they were drawn, instead your claws reach out and rip flesh. In the face of such a frenzied horror the elfs 's shield wall caves, your Gnolls crashing over it like a tidal wave. Your mouth is filled with blood and your fur is matted in viscera. The fight lasted not 5 minutes. All around you cackling Gnolls gorge themselves on the fallen the smell is so thick you almost cant stand it. You swallow the iron-y mass in your mouth and stand upright. Calling to your crew to regain control of themselves. A few do not respond but most shake away their lust and shake the lost ones back to their senses. All in all you lost only 1 Gnoll.

In the hull of the ship you find a stock of Elven wears, from bread to steel tunics. Unfortunately all the ballista were damaged in your charge.

The hold of the elven ship is picked clean, your ship swells with high quality elven items. While your crew is busy looting the hold, you make your way into the captains cabin. The interior is sickeningly lush, with gold plated furniture and pearly white wood. Atop a high table sits an oddly out of place scarlet box. Just looking at it makes you feel slightly uneasy.

>>37144433
You take the box, upon closer inspection you notice it lacks any sort of lock or hinge. Its curving design is unnerving to look at. By the time you leave the cabin your crew is already finished looting the hull. The deck of the elven ship is sticky with blood and you smile a fanged smile when you see a few of your crew pushing several elfs in chains down into your hold.
Its a shame their ship is too damaged to take with you. As you step back onto your ship and signal for your navigator to take you home the damage becomes even more apparent. A gaping hole opens up around where you rammed. Splintered wood creaks and screams as you finish separating. With a nod one of your crew hurls a torch onto the Elf ship, followed up by a dozen others.

As a result of this battle, as well as the almost perfect actions of yourself and your crew you sail away with 20 crates of Elf goods as well as 15 more elf slaves.

As you come around a particularly high island you finally see your home. The tribes port has been kept secret for decades, with good reason. Low dark wooden structures crowd around the dock. The large hall crouches menacingly atop the only hill, smoke drifts thick and cloying around the town. As you pull into dock dozens of slaves are herded out from a small shack, the slaves are made up of a dozen races, from Dwarfs to Kobolds, and they are all yours. You trust your dock foreman to take care of your ship and its cargo and head back into your home town.

[Walk around town] Choice landed
Your paws feel good walking through the sandy streets of your town, to think it had only been a scant few weeks since youve been home. Your feet naturally guide you towards the fighting pit, the only real entertainment in this town besides drinking and whoring and, stepping over the wooden planks that mark arena grounds you can already hear the cackle of the audience. Looking over the pit you see a pair of figures, one is a Gnoll, clearly a young one at that. His light pelt is speckles with dusty spot, his opponent is a rough looking female Drow. A rare sight for sure, and by the looks of it she is handicapped, a thick chain is wrapped around her left leg.

You shout into the pit for the young pup to fight like a proper Gnoll. Recognizing your voice he looks up from the pit just for a moment. Thats all the time the Drow woman needed to throw herself the short distance at the Gnoll. With a disgusting crunch she twists his sword arm, snapping the bone with enough force for the ivory bone to push through the skin. Snatching the blade from limp fingers she slashes at the youngling just too late, he has already leapt back from her range, twisted arm at his side. A few members of the crowd look at you grudgingly.

Laugh at the Gnoll and call it a little shit. Don't insist on removing the chain anymore since they both have handicaps now

You step over to the edge of the pit and snarl down at the youngling, cowing him for a moment. "Release her chain." You bark to the pit attendance. A trip of them hop down into the pit, surrounding the Drow woman who twists around at them, trying to face them all at once. She clearly doesnt know what going on but as the Gnolls get closer she seems to freeze up, the chain is pulled away and the Drow is free. She looks at you straight in the eye and smiles, there is nothing kind in that smile. She turns on the Gnoll in the pit and races towards him. The fight is short and bloody, the pup dies a pathetic death and the Drow is netted and dragged back down into the bit. Unhappy rumbles can be heard around the arena, one voice stands out. "How unfortunate it is you think it right to get my boy killed." A particularly dark pelted Gnoll Shouts down at you from the stands. He is walking down towards you. "Ill have your fucking head for taking him."

He may be old but he is still nimble. Dashing in he uses his superior reach to try and chip away at you. While he does manage to open your left arm badly and leave a superficial cut on your face, he quickly tires. The moment his onslaught wavers you lunge forth and strike, both your axes dig deep into his throat and with a savage pull, his head droops to the side, lifeless eyes still glare at you even as his knees give out and he falls into the dirt. You take a moment to catch your breath and raise your blood soaked axes over your head to the... There are no cheers. Dozens of Gnolls sit uncomfortable quiet around the pit, from your blind side something hits you in the side of your head, looking down you notice the stone just before the dull pain stabs into the side of your head.
