There was a revolver one of the villains in my M&M campaign carried called "The Right Hand of the Devil." It was ridiculously powerful but it was also possessed/cursed. Basically a demon inhabited the gun and whispered maddening thoughts into the ear of the wielder in order to wear them down so he could eventually take complete control of him.

Hammer of Torag
A small cannon ornately forged to be a hammer of vengeance against the orcish foe. Wielded by a master smith who's strength was unmatched this weapon that would have been more at home on a small ship hurled iron shot into the great Orcish warbands. Lost when the Master smith finally fell it is said to be waiting for someone with the strength to wield it properly against its ancient foe.

Give it massive damage stats but it needs a strength of (30 or whatever seems reasonable to fire a 15lb light cannon from the shoulder) to wield without penalty. (20 seems good to carry and fire but penalties to hit and a really shitty range but its a freaking cannon). Also bonuses against orcs and goblinoids.

The Heartseeker.
Bullets fired from this gun will subtly curve to hit the targets in the chest. It's a little more acurate that a normal gun, but can never trick shot, disable a limb, ect. Head-shots just never happen, the bullet will curve to go for the jugular instead.

The bullets themselves Hunger for blood. They absorb it like sponges, soaking up way more than their size would make seem possible. Put enough bullets in someone and you have a completely clean crime scene.

A minor noble once lost his temper at a young, newly appointed King, having been infuriated with new policies that were wrecking the nation. While these policies made the people happy, they crippled the government and noble class. The Noble claimed to the King that chivalry was dead, and the King, well-known and praised for his swordsmanship, challenged him to a duel. The King wore fine raiment, dwarven-tempered gold from the finest forgest under the earth, with the rings of his chainmail individually cast and the metal melted by dragonfire. The sword he drew was an ancient weapon, gleaming in the light, having been passed down through the ages and enchanted and retempered time and time again, a weapon broken and reforged through many, many battles that bespoke of all the lineage and tradition that was to carry on through the young King. As he walked out into the arena, all were in awe of his fine, legendary attire, and they looked forward to the show they would get as he carved through the impertinent noble. Meanwhile, the nobleman wore nothing but the same attire he'd given his outburst in. Fine-cut pants, a loose jacket, and a sword that was more decoration than anything. The King looked upon him and sneered. "Draw your weapon, so we may begin!"

"Alright," the noble replied, before pulling out a simple flintlock and sending the shot right through the King's eye.

Hellfire
An ornately carved long pistol of which is covered by an ornate carving of a dragons body wrapping about it ending in its open maw at the barrel. When fired by an evil character the wielder feels power rippling through his body as a 50m gout of dark and unholy fire erupts out of the barrel and causing despair and pain in those caught in the blaze.
When fired by a good character the character feels his spirit blaze in triumph as white cleansing flame spits out of the barrel searing clean the souls of the damned and leaving the good and just unscathed.

(Stat the damage like whatever fire spell you want and balance how you'd like)

Tyrants Fist
A starkly simplistic pistol with little in the way of elegance. In its bark one can hear the faint crying death of freedom and hope. When fired any not loyal to the wielder forces a fear check to not lay down arms.
(Obviously modified based on who is making the test, angry peasants will fall to their knees in fear whereas hardened soldiers, freedom fighters or other pirates might not bow down so easily) (Think like a Tokarev in terms of looks)

Arm of Ambition
This pistol swells the ambitions of the user, he is driven slowly mad in his desire for wealth and power as the weapon slowly whispers in his mind and drives him to make his ambition a reality. When fired at a foe (or ally) for whom the wielder will benefit greatly by their death. (assassinating a king or rival captain, killing a fellow crew member to avoid splitting loot etc) the weapon will always crit on the first shot, provided it would normally hit. (roll to hit, if it does auto crit, only once per foe). However the weapon will whisper to the minds of those around the wielder waiting for one for whom their ambition is strong enough to take the weapon for themselves and start the cycle anew.

This is the story of Arthur Penn, Richard Hess, and the Coffinwood Gun.

Arthur was born in the town of Grass Creek, Utah. He was breech, and his mother died in the process of squeezing him out. His father loved him unconditionally despite the tragedy of his birth, and raised the boy on his own as best he could.

When Arthur was on the cusp of manhood, his father was slain by the highwayman Richard Hess. Arthur reclaimed his father's old gun and had its grips replaced with spare wood left over from the construction of the coffin.

After many years of searching, Arthur managed to track down Richard Hess and challenged him to a duel. Hess, now an older man, attempted to flee the town, prompting Arthur to shoot him dead as he ran. From that day forth, bullets fired from the Coffinwood Gun would more easily find their target, provided that the target was actively fleeing justice.

Leveler

The only remarkable thing about this revolver's appearance is the set of symbols on its chambers. Where some guns might have numbers to denote which chamber is in place, this gun instead bears six copies of an arcane rune meaning, "Many." When the wielder faces even or favorable odds in combat, the pistol displays no special properties. However, if the wielder and his or her allies are drastically outnumbered, the runes will begin to glow, and continue to do so until the odds are even again. As long as the runes glow, the pistol continues to fire even if empty, spitting jets of searing blue flame instead of bullets. Tales circulate of men cutting down dozens of opponents with this weapon, only to be felled themselves when the gun clicked empty as they faced their last foe one-on-one.

The Warning Shot
one of the first weapons created by a man who is largely considered one of the best gun makers in history. Because it was his first, it was hardly anywhere near as good as his later creations. That being said, hardly ever seems to miss the same target twice

Outlaw Star had some neat ideas.

If I remember right he had like 10 bullets that would more or less annihilate any target but would take 1/10th of his soul with each shot, the final one obviously killing him. The idea of bullets being loaded with premade spells is pretty fucking tight.

A clumsy, heavily magic-reinforced pistol made primarily of bones. A charred steel revolver, wrapped in jingling coins, rabbit's feet, strips of paper, and other good luck charms. The High Roller, as it's commonly known, is a longarm constructed entirely of magically reinforced gold and jewels. Thankfully, it's also lightened. It also gives the wielder a sense of what direction and how far away any fired ammunition is.

A pepperbox derringer. Some enterprising and puckish wizard made the first shot a shower of sparks (no matter what ammunition was loaded) and the second a beam of destroying light capable of burning a three-inch wide hole through a foot of wood. Reload with caution.

For use only by the ludicrously strong, this decorative iron pillar has been hollowed out and made into a crude cannon. The sides are marked with symbols of a foreign land, and the firing mechanism requires at least a vague knowledge of the meaning of the symbols. Small handles circle it at the midpoint, useful for swinging the bludgeon when not firing it.

This lever action pistol is a rare design, but it is the history of this particular example of that design that is most interesting.
This gun was not used under ordinary circumstances, it was wielded by an explorer who set off to the planes themselves, as such it has recieved hundreds of small modifications, enchantments and repairs to cope with the many environments of the multiverse.
This gun has the hardness of adamantine though it can not be used offensively as such, it is immune to every type of energy damage, the gun provides +10 to any saving throw, check or CMD to prevent being disarmed or sundered, this gun can be fired in any environment, even in places with different physical laws or in the vacuum of space, this gun may also be reloaded in such environments, this gun can never rust or degrade and never misfires.

The 10000 Loyal Children:

'Twin Ocelots'
A garish, chromed pair of impressive looking revolvers that function as normal but perhaps with slightly boosted stats.
Any attempts to use these revolvers subtly or individually will fail and result in a jam. You must use both at the same time and must make a perform/sleight of hand check every time you draw, holster, reload (or wherever the GM feels is appropriate)

Douglas' Flintlock
Attempting to make any kind of peaceful negotiation with this pistol on your person is absolutely impossible. The cursed spirit of an infamous gunslinger lurks within this firearm and true to his dying words, nobody solves a problem without shooting over his dead body.
If the DM asks for a diplomacy check to defuse a violent situation, either make a will or strength check to avoid automatically pointing the gun at the opponent's skull and pulling the trigger. (Or would this be the standard trying to get control over the host with intelligent item rules?)
However- making called shots to the head has no penalty, rather attempting to hit anywhere else results in the normal penalty +3

In the Underdark, glowing crystals are havested for their volatile dust.
Firearms that use dust produce no smoke or sound when fired, but instead emit a blinding flash of light. This can be both useful in dazzling your opponents, but the bright light emitted is extremely hard to miss.

The gunslinger wore a cruel smile on his face, and told the young man to raise his weapon. Shivering in terror, the young man raised his rifle, though his fingers couldn't find the trigger, and his eyes couldn't see the target through the sweat and tears.

Just then a trio of shots rang out, and the gunslinger's smile fell as he looked down at the dark stains spreading on his shirt. He took one step forward and collapsed, bleeding out into the dirt.

It is said that the hammer of this glorious antique revolver was forged from the remains of the battering ram that once broke the great walls of castle osterrein. A bullet fired by this gun will never stop and never slow down until it hits flesh, no matter what it collides with before it reaches it.

The Roulette:
must be reloaded after every successful shot, has a bizarre chamber.
instead of rolling your system's accuracy check, roll 2d10. if both come up odd or both even, the gun hits.
if both come up the same number, the gun crits. no need to confirm.
the gun fails to fire on every other result, but does not need to be reloaded.

Heretics' Bane, massive Gatling gun that was once wielded by the inquisitor Torquemada, it is said that the Heretics' Bane will not run out of ammo as long as there are still heretics and other enemies of the faith left.

Legend's End, revolver used by a greenhorn to kill a legendary gunslinger, does more damage against those that are more experienced than its wielder.

Skelter-Helter

Failing that, here's a couple from me.

"Knucklebuster" Double barrel shotgun. Pros: ridiculously high damage (~150% regular dice), Cons: The recoil might break your fingers (Take 1 damage per shot)

"Jovi's Heartseeker" long barreled rifle. Pros: Gives love a bad name (18-20 critical range), Cons: You're to blame (shoots tracer rounds, people know where the shot came from.)

"Play to Kill" Pistol. Pros: I'm ready to kill (Quick Draw, Initiative bonus when you use this gun) Con: Too many pills. (Gun reduces effects of magical healing)

This... thing appears so crudely fashioned that it feels almost like an insult to call it a gun. However, it is a capable weapon which deals massive damage and almost never misses--but it will break after one shot unless the wielder truly believes it to be a great weapon. Once broken, it cannot be repaired by the person who used it when it broke and it will misfire if it is repaired and a wielder who broke it tries to use it. Shortly after breaking, its parts will mysteriously disappear and the gun will reappear intact in some location far away a few weeks later.

Backstory:

He grew old, sold almost everything, and retired... yet grave danger once again found him.
He reached for his finest remaining gun, and it jammed. He reached for his second finest, and it too jammed. Along down the line, each gun jammed, misfired, or simply could not seem to hit its target. He finally ran to his original gun in desperation, and... when he tried to fire it, it exploded in his hand.
A few weeks later, a young man in grave danger was hiding in a trash heap, fearing for his life. He only had a few bullets with him, but no gun to shoot them--and then a crude little gun, not much different from the trash it was sitting in, caught his eye...

The gunbat. Nocturnal hunters that roam the night in packs seeking large game on which to feed. They seek blood with high iron content, which they metabolize to form the pellets they fire.

Their deafening leavings damage the gunbat's sensitive ears, and due to their reliance on ultrasound all but the youngest have terrible aim. They have a tendency to explode when injured. Sometimes one will backfire and set off a chain reaction.

In areas where firearms are scarce, gunbats will sometimes be used as a crude replacement. A steady dose of sedatives keeps them from going off unexpectedly.

The only truly necessary part of a gun are the barrel and a way to propel the ammo, which can be pretty much anything. So making a gun out of scrap is doable as long as you have access to gunpowder or the like.

For bonus points, if the barrel is junk enough, the wannabe gun will indeed "deal massive damage and almost never miss". The wielder, that is.

This was a gun that was basically one of the end game rewards I gave to my players in the final act. The player's character was a crazy Mondo Zappa-esque loan shark who used sledgehammers and various guns. He had a shark motif and was the arcana representative of the Chariot (it was a wild campaign).

the "Law dog" used to be the trusty sidearm of a sheriff in a small town. After a deadly firefight with vicious criminals the sheriff was mortally wounded and the outlaws executed him with his own pistol. Years later the bandits were killed but the pistol still had the bond with his sheriff. Every time good people needed protection the Law dog was drawn supernaturally fast from it's holster always ensring the first shot.

This gun >>35377242 was going to be my 2nd submission. It's the Girandoni Air Rifle, invented around 1779. It operated off a gas reserve and offered a massive increase in rate of fire and a smaller but notable increase in power over contemporaries like the Kentucky Rifle or more common muskets.

A pair of small single shot pistols. The trick comes in that as each is fired, it becomes a mundane, post-magical empty gun which will eventually dissipate into the aether. But the act of pulling the trigger manifests a new, loaded derringer within 6 inches of the firing hand aimed parallel. A practiced marksman can fire-and-forget a pile of weapons in short time.

The entire time I've been reading this thread, I've been saying 'murder' over and over in a stupid accent. I'm not sure why. Anyway:

>The serendipitous cannon
This 'gun' is a solid slab of metal crafted to resemble an unwieldy and oversized rifle-grenade launcher-bazooka thing. When fired at a target, the target will be destroyed by chance; men suffer heart attacks, tanks break down, ships are hit by rogue waves and capsize, houses are eaten by termites, mighty cities struck by comets. The time between 'firing' and the target's destruction varies widely; the larger and more elaborate the target, the longer it takes. However, each person who uses it is themselves eventually brought to ruin by the workings of serendipity.

This void-black gun does not fire bullets, but rather lasers. It is reloaded/recharged by leaving it out in the sun or near a similarly intense light source. How charged it is can be determined by the faint halo surrounding the muzzle as it fires; when fully charged it's at the very edge of ultraviolet, with frequency decreasing as it exhausts itself.

I have an idea for an artifact firearm, but dunno what to name it. Here's the description.

A faded silver revolver with worn grips, the weapon looks like it can still shoot, just a little worn. When held, the weapon feels a little off, and how depends on the person holding it. Maybe it feels like it's too light, or that the sights are slightly off, or that the chamber looks empty at a glance, but when checked is filled with bullets. Every person experiences a different odd quirk with this weapon.

It imposes a -2 to attacks because of this quirk in design, but whenever the trigger is pulled it fires a ghostly transparent wave of force instead of a bullet. It still uses a bullet and only does non-lethal damage, but the target must make a will save. If they fail, the user may choose to possess the victim's body, and can remain in command, though the victim gets to retry the will save every hour.

This is a mind-affecting, astral effect. Shots fired from this weapon also have ghost touch.

Sorta relevant, do you know about any settings that are, well, "napoleonic fantasy" I suppose you would call it. Basicly, the young folk rise up and revolt against the noble elven/older lived castes, there's a mish mash of muskets and fireballs, and the royal winged hussars really do ride griffons?

This old wood-and-iron Rifle looks like it has seen its fair share of battles, but it is still shiny and seems ready for action. The scope is very simple, with a catch; if the user tries to just fire quickly and madly, it will be just a little off, enough to mess up shots. If the shooter takes his time to aim and make aure the shot counts, the scope will become more and more accurate until the target is seen surrounded by a glow that shinea through anything, never to be lost from sight again.

The revolver itself is nothing special, for the most part. I mean, sure, a Colt Anaconda's a hell of a gun, but it's still just a gun. Now the firing hammer, that's the part that's special. This hammer'll fit any Colt Anaconda without fail, and it'll still do the same thing.

Now normally, the Anaconda equipped with this hammer is just a regular old Anaconda. Point and shoot. Pretty standard, yeah? Where shit gets real is when you point it at yourself. You put the gun to your head, spin the cylinder and fire, and things start getting crazy. Sometimes, something'll spontaneously combust. Sometimes, you'll teleport. Sometimes, a bus or a train or a car will arrive right where you are, no matter how weird it would be. But sometimes, about one time in every six, the bullet really does fire. So, every time you pull this sucker out, you gotta ask yourself: "Is today the day I pull a trump card, or today the day I die?"

The signature weapon of Sir Percival Hoffington, Third Early of Bantry, looks to be if anything, an excessively gaudy doubled barreled, bolt action elephant gun.

However, when the OBE was in India, doing a rousing round of safari-ing throughout the sub-continent, the upper class sportsman was accosted by what appeared to be a multi-armed demon. Thinking that he had stumbled upon prized prey, Percival let the beast get as close as it could before unloading both barrels.

Truly, even a demonic servant of Kali-Ma could not take two .700 double powder rounds through it's cranium and found itself quite dead.

The prize is said to still be in the Hoofington palatial home, but the weapon itself was lost when Sir Percival was lost at sea, his brother becoming the Fourth Earl of Bantry, but it said to have recently appeared in a New York Auction house.
