She's a big Transport.
HOLY FUCKING EMPEROR ON HIS GOLDEN TOILET
that thing is sweet!
There's wrong, just plain wrong, and then there's you
CHOO CHOO HERETEKS, HERE COMES THE MECHDOZER.
Between this, the funky tanks, and the character FW just released, it's getting harder and harder to resist putting together a small Admech army.
The rules were posted earlier in the thread; and basically, yes. It's extremely hard to kill, has respectable anti-infantry weapos that can be fired on the move, a large transport capacity, and buffed Tank Shocks/Rams. It's not astoundingly expensive either.
How do you guys even tell the treads are backwards? I'm Googling photos and they are either symmetrical designs on the real tanks and the ones with similar design are just 3d models without a vehicle attached.
Finally, a Limo worthy to carry my Genestealer Cult.
It is basically all you could want in an assault transport. Except for the ability to bring troops directly into close combat.
And I think this was the design objective. A heavy assault transport that is not a Landraider.
So they made it a landfaring trireme.
And it will be glorious to ram them into enemy units of any size before unloading troops to finish off the survivors.
Now, the real problem here is that people could start and play them as battering rams to go and hunt enemy units without infantry in them. This migth make them really unfun to play against.
>without infantry in them
>not running a macrotek
>not running a butt ton of enginseer troops with automatas
now these transports are filled with guys that pretty much are guaranteed to fix all the HP. And they aint too shabby in CC either
It's fucking hideous. They also fucked up the fellblade. Damnit.
At least we have the glorious Sicaran and Raven Guard Contemptor. Pic fucking related.
Although many new models have been shit, I have to say that THAT is fucking metal.
CHOO CHOO MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
It demands a bow figurehead, a militant version of the Spirit of Ecstasy or something like that
If you are sure nobody will abuse them for bullshitty bulldozing, alright.
Just pointing out that if a transport is more valuable to the player than the troops it carries, people could get strange ideas.
They can't even into robes, how in the hell are they going to do pants?
It looks like someone took a steam train, slapped on some giant tracks and the ore collector thing from the War Miner on it.
>thinking RG Contemptor is ugly after seeing new studio photos of it with their newly hired, better-than-anyone-else-in-the-studio painter
>thinking it's worse than the WE Contemptor
...he said, shitpostingly.
They are pretty weird. So, was thei "weakness"?
Alas, in what they underperform?
I've been in an 8 player game with total kills only. It came down to one player with only an Allied jet pad with 2 jets and me with only a single russian ore miner fully veteraned. Shit was intense
Enough Conscripts should kill it.
No, that is just unholy wrath that has decided your opponent is the one it's going to shit on today.
Elite Soviet Ore Harvesters are nigh-impossible to kill, they are that bullshit.
Unless I'm remembering wrong, they also repair themselves over time, coupled with bullshit armor/life, they can just...sit there, plinking away at entire armies until they fade away.
Soviet warminer that killed enough dudes to reach veteran status. This usually happens in maps where two players, often AI ones, start on oposite sides of the same gold deposit. The warminer will then roll out into the ore field and do its work, while taking shots at everything that passes through.
The warminer is already one of the toughest units in the game, and it regenerates and it is entirely immune to mind control. The gun on the top is a heavy machine gun and stays that way through the first level of veterancy. When it then reaches max veterancy, it turns into a cannon, that is only surpassed damage wise by the gun of the heaviest tank in the game when it is also at max veterancy, and it fires twice. It also becomes much tougher and it still regenerates. If memory serves me right, the regeneration gained from max veterancy stacks with it's existing regenaration. Kirov airships can't catch it, groups of harriers can't sustain enough damage, neither can rocketeers, so air crafts is entirely out of the question. It is likely to slaughter any number of infantry you can throw at it, even hero units, and only groups chrono legionaries can close in on fast enough to get a shot at it and catch it before they get one shotted, and then it would take them so long that units could arrive from almost any part of the map to kill them before they make it disappear. The entirety of the yuri faction is useless apart from an army of lasher tanks, yuri's base defenses are completely useless. Some sneaky player might try to use terror drones, but the sheer amount of health and regeneration gives it time to drive back to base and wait for the repair building to be build just for it. The only unit to reliably take them out, is an apocalypse tank of equal veterancy or a battle fortress loaded entirely guardian GIs, and even that is a tough fight. Alternately hope for it to drive into a forest of prism towers or tesla coils.
So the image name is a thousand shades more accurate then it has any right to be?
Well...damn, that's the only thing that can be said, I mean, Jesus Christ, God Damn what a fucking monstrosity.
Forgot related items.
So it is very much the kind of thing you sink 90% of your total economy into killing.
And it's the first unit in the game you can control.
What happens when you have three of them? Does everyone just kinda give up? Even the AI?
The problem is, its base damage is zip.
Any group of tanks can catch and destroy it before it reaches veterancy.
A Warminer gaining veterancy is a fluke. Normally the Allied Chronominer is much superior as it can just teleport to home base when attacked.
Only in when the Warminer reaches the highest veterancy does it become awesome.
Well if I remember right, it costs 1200-1400 command and conquer money, and has to kill six times that amount of money worth of enemies or buildings. If it gets there, it earned it.
Oh god that brings me back.
My first encounter with an Elite Warminer was a 6 player free for all, total destruction rules.
The one who got it was the first one to be destroyed, he escaped with just his Warminer, Declared "I will Return, and you all shall fall before me." and disappeared off the face of the Earth.
Game progressed, we got sightings of The Dreadminer every now and again, picking off wounded and weak scraps from skirmishes.
Then came the last battle, where we all poured EVERYTHING into one massive clusterfuck against each other.
Then out of fucking nowhere the Dreadminer just comes out of the Shadows behind my base, destroys all that I love and hold dear, disappears again, my forces fall with no back up.
Then he does it again, and again, and again until there are only two people left, then it just sits there and watches as they destroy each other and then just casually drives in and ends it.
Fucking Warminers, man, they haunt me to this day.
>Player starts off as what is considered the weakest and most pointless class: Warminer pilot.
>It's fucking pathetic, he can't do anything to really help, he just kills like 2 guys each time there's an encounter.
>He never even upgrades his gun, he just keeps that base piece of shit and doesn't spend half of his exp.
>Suddenly, he hits lvl 15 and everyone takes a new look at his stats, his ungodly, impossible stats.
>TEXTURED it for some reason
Well at least the WE one kinda makes sense since it's not like they care about fine motor ability when there's stuff to punch...
Maybe because it looks like German panzer camo?
>If it's supposed to be tribal tattoos then it's even worse because it looks like a 5-year-old who couldn't draw straight did them with a sharpie...
Backpedaling won't save you from Space Shadow Islander Ravens!
this is different and actually good
Wow that sure is a meh tier pattern but at least it looks intentional.
I have a problem with the bad design and not if it's canon or not. It's boring at best and ugly at worst.
It's because this is the sculptor's first non-organic model.
He previously did I think the Dimachaeron (which also looks wonky because it doesn't look like the other Tyranids, the hood looks almost mechanical) the big mouth wyrm and I think the tit troll for WHFB.
Yeah pretty much the whole HH3 package confirms it. FW loves their pet chapters.
Tribal tattoos are a Terran thing. There should be a couple you can find on Alpha Legion and Imperial Fists too. RG just happen to have a heavy focus on Terran legionnaires due to the whole Corax thing.
i heard people talking about red alert in here
too bad /v/ doesnt want to talk about games
As it says there, Trish Carden (formerly Morrison) sculpted for the main GW ranges before FW. Did so since forever; I recall she was responsible for a ton of WHFB and LotR monsters, though I'm no expert in that department. Pic related is a relatively recent example.
try it sometime
Any good tanker wants to get out of trouble faster than they get into it.
