I used to frequent pretty much every board on 4chan and I truly believe that /tg/ is the best. /tg/ does not "raid" other websites or boards, we keep our heads down and discuss tabletop games like we're meant to. The only drama we get is in easily identified bait threads such as edition wars or when some newfriend comes along after reading a few articles on 1d4chan and wholeheartedly believes they will be the next Henderson with some bad OC.

Secondly, our cancer is pretty much contained. CYOA and Quest Threads are ever present, but that never spills out into other threads and the trips who run them generally stay in their own threads. In addition to this, our trips are pretty mellow compared to the trips of other boards and sometimes up front about just being attention whores, we also don't have nearly as many as the other boards do.

Thirdly, while we don't all share the same tastes, we are far less venomous to eachother about our differences than the other "taste" boards. We'll occasionally have people shitfit about roleplay/rollplay or martials, but I actually see arguments being presented instead of "HAHAHA TARANTINO FOR YOU AYY LMAO" or something along those lines. And while we don't always share the same tastes, we all hate the same things about our respective franchises like unnecessary fluff changes or mechanical imbalances and I believe we have bonded around that. I don't play 40k, but I can feel the pain of some guy who got Devilfished or whatever is going on in the current edition and I can understand how it feels to have the lore dicked over. This universal kinship also extends to the things we like in relation to /tg/. Whether you play AD&D, 3.5, 4th ed or whatever, any D&D player will love talking about history.

The attitude here is also much more stable. Unpopular opinions are rarely met with "kill yourself" or something along those lines.

Also I can talk about Berserk here without severely autistic trips shitting it up.

Suddenly inspiration stikes!

How about a small continent or large island populated by large city states and their allies, like Greece before Alexander. In each city state is worshipped a standard pantheon, however their trickster god is also the patron of children and the master of games.

The creation myth of these people involves the trickster challenging the other gods to various types of games. First he/she would play against the smith type god and as a prize of winning he would have him make the races of the world. Then he would play and win against the goddess of nature to imbue them with the spark of life. Win against other gods to teach them farming and warfare and shit, and finally after beating all the other gods to gain boons for man he would challenge the ruler of the gods to a game and win for men their souls and free will.

In each city/region of this area they either dissagree on what type of game he challanged the other gods too, or if he played a different game against each god they argue over which game was the most important. In each city they revere this game or type of game and either use it to settle all disputes, or it is just super important to them.

I am basically thinking of a world like yugioh where children's games are the most important thing ever, but with each city having a different game.

it's seriously quite impressive once you start looking into the game assets and stretch goals shown so far, but it probably 2 years from today away from release so anything could happen (good or bad).

Ships wont be like EVE where you just pilot a husk and queue up attacks while you sip coffee, no, there will be living breathing ships with crew members and roles to fill like radar/target acquisitions and torpedo loaders - all playable by real people.

No, /tg/ doesn't really have as much investment in it minus our habit of eating up all the juicy gossip like we all do in the aftermath and are doing now. The crusade is that of /v/, /pol/, Reddit, and attention whore Youtube celebs. But yes I should have said an individual or small group of people on /v/ and/or /pol/, but there's so much of an overlap which board doesn't matter. There's significantly less overlap here and we're a small so even the possibility the hypothetical culprit being from /tg/ too is rather slim.

It's worth looking up on but to be quite honest don't buy into all the >pay2win crap... If you weren't an original backer then there isn't a terrible lot you can do between now and launch, so might as well not beat yourself up over it.
