I've been a GM for nearly fifteen years now, and this morning, I got the most surprising attempt at creating a character that I've ever seen.

I don't need a advice, just a place to vent.

There's a player of other RPG's, been playing them for at least five years, maybe more. He's not a perfect player, but he shows promise sometimes, and he has been asking me for a VTM game.

I promised him a game, and we talked about a potential character. He said he'd manage creating a V20 character by the book, and I said sure.

The image is what he sent me.

For those not in the know, Generation is the background trait that determines the power of the vampire, and using a regular character sheet and rules provided by the book, it only goes up to 5 dots.

The book doesn't even have descriptions of higher traits, nor does include a character sheet that has space for a sixth dot.

He found a custom character sheet, and spent freebie points at the creation process to raise the generation up to 6, assuming that that would land him an even more powerful vampire than getting a trait of 5.

When I asked him about it, he said that the rulebook doesn't have the limit explicitly defined, and it didn't say anywhere that he couldn't raise the trait up to six.

As an added bonus, he took Humanity 8 so he could "diablerize more vampires, because diabelerie always reduces one's humanity."

How is this my life.

tl;dr version:

Seems like a good time to introduce rule zero.

I've had so many terrible roll20 applications they don't even bother me anymore. My favorite ones are those which ignore the rules outright and are something like a homebrew half-vampire half-furry rainbow mage.

What modifier should I add to weapons and armor made of brass?

I know it depends on the system, but should I give it a little or big penalty?

Depends what the baseline is.

Brass is pretty heavy and not exactly a weapons grade metal...

Make them shit for physical combat. But maybe for magical kit they could have a bonus.

I'd say Vergil was more chaotic, since he was interested more in personal power above all else, and did not care much for power structures. Probably still neutral because he did still stick to a code (most of the time).

NA is more Lawful because acts as part of a hierarchy (unwilling as he is).

How would you go about worldbuilding an adventure set in the Fallout world?

I would try to connect parts of the overworld of Fallout games and make one of the games protagonists be the pen and paper antagonist.

System would probably be the fallout 1/2 game system or an adaptation of that game system

Thoughts?

So the Players are Mutants, Raiders or Ghouls?

Actually, I would just let it play in some different place than the games, or a other time. So you can have your BoS, Enclave, Human Cities, Mutants etc. and make them how you want so you can fit the players well in. If you want my tip, make it either in a bigger Town with figthing factions, new york or seattle perhaps, or in florida. Everybody likes giant mutated crocodiles.

So I've come up with a odd mechanic to all martial combat in DnD 5e. When an attack is declared a hit, the attacker chooses one of five positions to target and the defender tries to predict the choice. The damage is modified depending on the outcome.

Attacker choices-
>High
>Medium
>Low
>Side (Right)
>Side (Left)

Defender choices-
>High block (Weak to Medium)
>Medium block (Weak to Low)
>Low block (Weak to High)
>Side block (Right) [Weak to Right]
>Side block (Left) [Weak to Left]

Results
Neither win (100% damage)
Defender wins (Blocked Hit) (50% damage)
Attacker wins (Clean Hit) (150% damage)

I've also changed every weapon types to have additional effects like bleeding and stunning.
Handaxe Clean Hit (Medium) : Apply bleeding (DoT)
Dagger Combo (Side>Side) : Gain another attack (Side only)
Greathammer Clean Hit (High) : Stun

These help attract the attacker to making certain choices and allows the defender to try to predict correctly.
Any thoughts on how this could be improved?

So certain monsters like Goblins could have attack patterns that the players could learn and adapt to. I want to see them wise up and after many sessions, know how to fight and kill several types of monster effectively.

PvP-
Both combatants choose from the five options they have. Reveal when all is said and done. Experimenting with either 2 sets of cards (10) to resolve each attack one by one or making 6 sets of cards (30 total) to resolve attack three at a time to speed things up.
PvE-
Each monster will an AI deck with constants depending on the monster.
i.e. Goblin (Low)(?)(?)-repeat

so, realistically, is there a single faction that wouldn't EFFORTLESSLY wipe out the entirety of the forces in the star wars universe?
