There's out premise for this thread: only five Primarchs, all of them second-rate and not especially formidable, leave the Imperium. The Emperor gets to keep the rest and will also have a functional webway soon. A whole lot of worlds remain unburned, at least for the time being.

Immediate questions arising from this scenario:
A) Where do the secessionist go to start over? What corner of the galaxy would fit them the best?
B) To whose side does Alpharius (and Omegon) throw his lot?
C) Will Leman Russ go Khorne instead, having no reason to rethink his way at the wake of Prospero?
D) What happens to the Emperor and Sanguinius? The former's death is at the very premise of the story, and can't go unchanged. The latter is Space Jesus and thus must die for our sins.
E) Is this the lamest and most anticlimactic Heresy AU ever conceived?

if you don't give a shit about your collection of miniatures, the culmination of your personal artistic expression, effort and time, then why do you play a miniature wargame instead of a video game? if the models don't matter and you don't give a fuck and will just ditch your shit for the new stuff (instead of just adding on things, like a sensible company would make possible) then what's the fucking point?

Establishing a powerlevel seems top priority. I've constantly had to go back and forth between super casual and super competitive decks just to try and match the rest of the people at my shop.

there's a player who's been pushing past the group power level of 75% by building annoying shit like UR storm and soon prosh, so i took all my retired monoblack cards and put together a skittles deck that will hopefully show him the error of his ways using turn 4 lethals

All of them, with more fanciful names being correlated with more powerful abilities.
Note that a correlation doesn't mean it's 100% true. The occasional simple spell with a pretentious name, or powerful spell with a simple name, is always an option to trip people up.

Also, D&D style includes stuff like "Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion" and "Soul's Treasure Lost", while JRPGs includes stuff like "Fire" and "Cure".

Personally, I prefer simple official names in RPG manuals, because the players can then add their own fluff/spin to the names, but more distinct names in video games like "Demon Fang" or "Rising Phoenix".

True adventurers don't exist any more.
I had to specifically build a huge automated dungeon just to kickstart them again.
Rather i take a page out of the Metalics and how they mingle with the mortals.


Sometimes i like to play with the mortals to raise them into first class subordinates.

I usually use divination to pick up orphans with tragic pasts or children that had to mature faster due to brutal circumstances in their surroundings.

Just presenting them with opportunities and guidance while taking the form of an elder will make them cherish you like you are their father.

The last case was when i picked up a Wood-Elf noble kid who was kicked out of his family due to intrigue that crippled his training.

I approached him when he was destitute and was about to die at the hands of hooligans whom a branch family hired to get rid of him.

Had to spend arround a decade training the kid in martial arts and everything and then set him loose.
Oh the chaos he wreacked by executing his revenge was quite enjoyable.
Especially the moment where he publicly cuckolded several of his enemies he had captured was a piece of art.

Well, I like hanging out in the rafters of the local tavern, so I definitely hear and see quite a few of them - it's one of my favorite ways to get news about goings-on. I've hired myself out to new adventurers a couple times essentially as a Bag of Holding for a bit.
Aside from a couple quarrels and insincere offers to let them retrieve the equipment themselves with some less-than-dragon-friendly group members, though, I've not had any antagonistic encounters with them.

True adventurers are explorers, hunters and mercenaries.

The ones entering my automated dungeon are just brats with too much time on their hands.

Thankfully only the quickwited survive my traps so the dungeon will bring up the quality of the local population after a few generations pass.

You may not believe this because of their name but Wood elves predominately live in rural grass lands and mountanous arreas.

They often mingle with human societies taking over sone of their social norms and forms of governance.

Of course they still prefer to genocide the humans every hundred years or so to keep their own territories.

Anyway intrigue is normal among nobility.
Thus the kid was poisoned over a long period of time making him unable to move as he wished and disrupting any form of magical or martial training necessary for a ruler.

As he was an only son this forced his father to hand over the successor position to a branch family member after the whole noble clan made a clamour about an incompetent heir.

Anyways the kid had a strong motivation in revenge as i trained him as a martial artist making him advance quite fast.

I'm now considering setting up an eugenics programm using all the subordinates i raised.

Forming institutions like a monastery or mage school would be fitting.
