You are at a gaming store.
You meet a random guy who offers to play a game of 40k with you.
You accept for whatever reason.
As you're setting up, the guy starts getting painted models like these out of his case and setting them up on his table:
How do you react?
I would ask him to stop spending on Raging Heroes or whatever that company with the fanservice models is called. It's not because I'm a prude, I just don't like seeing someone get ripped off like that.

I tell him that's a damn good paint job

A week and and a half ago...
Reserved mine at my FLGS a while ago now.
No money down, but he'll be sure to save one for me when I stop by.
Haven't seen one in a while. Flintlocks and powdered wigs vs. magic and monsters.

Hello and welcome to /tg/’s hectic attempt to fix the Naruto setting. Our goal is to make Kishi’s world more fun and interesting, while still keeping its identity. Maybe work on some game rules too if anybody’s interested.
We've settled on a few things so far.
1. Power levels should be fixed to about where they were during the Chuunin Exam Arc. Fights between the most powerful ninja are about technique variety and quick strategy, rather than outright power.
2. The relationship of power between little kid ninjas and grown up ninjas should actually make sense, even if the little kid has a special technique.
3. Politics between the hidden villages should be more fleshed out (this is rather vague, but we haven't had consensus).
4. Many of the bullshit powers (or even entire clans) should be excised and tailed beasts should be far greater threats than they became. Godlike powers are reserved for legendary figures from the past.
5. The setting must decide whether it's modern or it isn't. This is because technology actually has an effect on how effective ninja are.
6. Samurai should also be more of a threat, using brute force and possibly chakra absorbing metals to counteract ninja cunning. Alternatively, they could use chakra themselves in simpler ways.

>and tailed beasts should be far greater threats than they became
Fuck off. Their Bijuu Bombs were being fired like machine guns & were destroying mountains. If anything the Tailed Beasts became too destructive. Tone down the Bijuu Bomb or hike up the cost & I'd agree but fuck making them stronger. They're already too fuckin' high on the power levels
>>53603756
The bijuudama shouldn't have been a thing in the first place. They should have just been huge beasts with each one having a unique power.
Here's some worldbuilding for you: sandals/shoes/footwear that actually covers the toes
So I'm a Newfag to ttrpgs in general and I've seen plenty of threads saying certain games are shit, but what makes a system shit.
If people discuss it here and play it, it's not shit.
People will have alternate definitions, but it'll mostly be a definition crafted to exclude games they simply don't like.
>>53602561
The main point that most of us agree on, above all else, is that a bad system is any system where the mechanics don't support, and actively work against the goal of the system itself.
In fact, that's what a majority of our system arguments are about. Arguments between People who have tried to read/run the system and it didn't support their goals/the written goals of the system, and people who have learned the system and are able to run and enjoy the games that it does well.
Anything in D&D 3.5. That game is all entirely shit, literally everything about it is bad. It is literally unplayable, fighter as a class does not even function and is basically impossible to even play, even at level 1 wizards beat fighters pretty much 99% of the time. Also it is basically impossible to play as RAW because there are so many rules it is impossible to learn them all.

An established Dark Heresy 2 group of mine recently had a player drop. Thus, we're looking for one replacement. You'd be starting at 3150 xp, that being including the 1000 xp you get at character creation.

ITT: we use the description of our names to describe who we are supposed to be.
>First Name: The name you are more commonly referred to by is your Face name. Everyone can tell in an instant on what you do/who you are for a living.
>Middle Name: The least known name is your Hidden name, only reserve to those you get to know you. Hidden skills are a commodity to everyone.
>Last Name: This is your Surname, your family trade, and heritage. Every member of your family is brought through this way as a way of life. Whether they keep to it when they get older is up to them.
To worldbuild, every group of five surnames will join as five great families to create their city or nation across the globe. We'll discuss how they affect the each other as more nations arise.

I'll start us off.

Warmasters Triumvirate is an attempt at creating yet another 40k AU. The Primarchs have changed, and instead of appointing a single Warmaster upon returning to Terra, the Emperor leaves the Great Crusade in the care of three of his sons. This eventually culminates in a civil war between Loyalists, Chaos Traitors and Separatists...

Things to work on:
>Finalizing the Separatist Warmaster
>Make an overview for how the Great Crusade and the Heresy play out
>Other stuff Sarco isn't observant enough to see
So Frederick is going to be the Sep Warmaster? We're all in agreement on that? Has any form of consensus been reached on who stays Loyal then? Rokuten?
Also, what are the new dudes called? I read some disagreement on the name.

I knew I missed something.
A thread for all those trashy sword and sorcery stuff that no one heard about.
From all ages and all times, 80s stuff, youtube larp videos etc. But only stuff you actually had the balls to sit down and finish watching.
The bar is "if it has a physical DVD ever released it is too mainstream"
Post them! Trash for the trash throne.
I will start with the worst
Barbariana Queen of the savages!
Larpers try to make a Conan movie. Features a fat barbarian queen, Freddy mercury clone, an Elf ruler who uses a white plastic chair as a Throne.

Ah porn flicks with decent costumes count too. Post all those game of thrones xxx parodies I know you have seen.
SAGA curse of the shadow
Unironicaly liked the elf.
Here is the trailer

The thing I love about this one is looking at weapons and recognize them as props from other movies like LOTR.
How do you prefer your vampires? Why?
petite and overwhelmingly smug
because that's my fetish

generally still people, human enough to be able to interact with humans without being immediately spotted as not.
At their core still monstrous and human predators, play up the conflict between their still present human self and their new dark appetite and need to injure and kill.

Ace Chemical, the place that turned a completely normal guy into the Joker.
My attempt at giving Red a comeback lifegain mechanic.
Comrades, firewarriors and commanders of the Fire Caste, workers and scientists of the Earth caste, bureaucrats and diplomats of the Water Caste, pilots and admirals of the Air Caste, members of the Ethereal Caste, the age of the Riptide Wing is over. We must come up with new strategies and tactics to liberate the galaxy against tyranny and spread the Greater Good across the stars.
Having made this general observation, let us now pass to practical questions.
Let's discuss how we will build our cadres and contingents. Which formations of units do you think could work.
What do you think of the 5th Sphere of expansion? What can we learn about the lost 4th Sphere of Expansion.
What about Farsight?
Well I predict 8e will be infantry edition. Suits and vehicles are stupidly overpriced now, whereas troops just got better and or cheaper.
But stealth suits stayed relatively the same price but got another wound and better toughness, and I like their stealth field rule. Keep in mind they still benefit from cover, which is cool.
Unfortunately I am less inclined to take crisis, tides, and those big ones, but more inclined to take stealths.
But alas, my dream of doing suitspam effectively seems to be shattered. I didn't even like taking more than one riptide, and never took a stormsurge. I get boosting the price of those, but my crisis suits?
And was it really necessary to make broadsides 6w? Especially since they cost so much now
It seems that drones detach from their assigned squad once you deploy them. You can also allocate wounds from nearby units. Pathfinder drones are very intersting with their bonuses.
>>53569986
I plan on detaching the Pathfinder drones and double timing them straight over to my fire warrior gun line.
-d3 to enemy charges and 36" pulse rifles, for 16 points. Delicious.

So /exg/, when creating a Solar in 3e, how many charms do you invest into your Supernal? I find myself not wanting to invest any less than 7 in it, and for my current character have gone 12 in on it. (Resistance is the supernal).
>>53565903
Typically, about nine or so. If I invest too much I just feel that I'm overspecializing.
>>53565903
Around 8-10.
