What will happen when he gets finally into the Black Library?
>>53640252
something contrived
>>53640273
Just as planned
>>53640252
He becomes aware of Primaris Marines when it's too late too stop them.
>decide to run a horror campaign
>"Here is my character, he has no concept of fear and doesn't want to get involved with hauntings and shit"
>switch to dungeon crawl
>"Here is my character, he can't fight for shit and hates even stepping near dungeons"
>switch to seafaring exploration
>"Here is my character, he hates the ocean and wants to go up the mountain to mine snow"
>switch to political game
>"Here is my character, he is an antisocial hermit and will avoid contact with anyone from the group."
Talk about expectations and desires for the campaign before you play.
>>53640328
go fuck yourself you entitled subhuman piece of shit
>>53640360
I think that "don't go against the theme of the game" is just common fucking decency expected of the players.
Would you like it if your cozy exploration campaign had a war criminal with a foot fetish in it?
>>53640520
Fuck you. I made a game, everyone comes with an appropriate character, the same fag comes and wants to be contrarian.
So once again, go drink bleach namefaging cunty faggot.
What does /tg/ think of the guy doing the "How To Be A Great GM" channel on youtube?
Some of his advice seems sound and hes given me some solid new ideas but I find myself disagreeing with him on a few topics.
Is being a good GM just subjective or what?
Also does anyone know of any more similar youtube channels like this? I'm trying to find more resources for ideas and such.
>>53639949
I like alot of his stuff for "how to be a good PC". Its a great starting out point for deeper, better characters by getting you to actually think about things.
>>53639949
GMing is entirely subjective. There are as many GMing styles as there are different groups of people who want to play RPGs, and what might be amazing in one group might be awful in another.
Anyone advice given should be taken with a hefty helping of salt, doubly so if it's given with an attitude of 'This is the one right way to do things'.

Are you excited for Archenemy: Nicol Bolas?
Starting again after a few years of not playing. Will playing Kaalia of the Vast or Jenara, Asura of War decks get me auto-nuked by everyone else? I usually got ganged up on when I played them when I started playing EDH.
>>53639817
Jenara, not so much anymore.
Kaalia maybe.
>>53639817
Jenara is a voltrony commander. You'll get nuked when you're an appropriate threat.
Kaalia is "If I turn sideways I win." She will get focused hard the second you cast her.
Vulkan is best Primarch, and the Salamanders are the best chapter.
>>53639647
Now that flamers are fucking awesome, will we see a sudden spike in Salamanders players?
>>53639647
Then why wasn't he Warmaster?
So lets say, 6 months from now, Cawl and starts a war between himself, those declared for him, and the rest of the Imperium (probably the rest of the galaxy too). The story is given a "wrath of magnus" style treatment with the campaign book, the lore updates, etc.
If you care about the story behind your dudes, will they declare for Cawl? Or will they side with the Guilliman/the incumbent FabGen? What would make you switch sides and fight against/for him?
Against, fuck tech-heresy. AIs are a large part of what got us in this mess in the first place
I like Cawl tho
>>53639229
Against, the guy's a heretek in all but official classification and nearly squanders the teachings of the Credo Omnissiah in his maddened lust for power. He is absolutely everything that got Humanity into this mess, the rebirth of the Dark Age's arrogance incarnate, and were it not for the precarious situation my dudes wouldn't be opposed to just lancing his followers from orbit whenever possible.

He's not that muscly though.
Night Lords don't fight fair, duh
So /tg/,
what's your opinion on using 4e's neat abilities and spells to supplement and somewhat spice up 5 e's combat
>>53638104
I got so excited for a moment there. Thinking Diarca was back, and we'd have Totemist Quest once more. Now I'm sad.
>>53638104
>what is the battlemaster fighter
low tier bait
It sounds like a good idea, but requiring extensive knowledge of both systems, which is apparently rare.
It's rare to see this sort of a thing brought up outside D&D, but whatever - we've got way too many threads for the new edition around so let's set our sights back for a bit.
What's the best edition of Warhammer 40k? Which one in your mind has the best mechanics, the best lore? Which one evoked the best mood of a grim dark future galaxy? Which one's got the coolest models? Or which one was it that you picked up when you were twelve and never really could bring yourself to put back down?
Or, for that matter, which one did you like the worst? Which one had the worst lore, the shittiest models, etc.?
Do you think 8th edition will change this in any way?
5th, just like D&D
>>53637630
>the best mechanics, the best lore? Which one evoked the best mood of a grim dark future galaxy?
3e and 4e. When we were getting novels like Gaunt's Ghosts, Eisenhorn, Execution Hour, and Ciaphas Cain
>Which one's got the coolest models?
6e/7e
>Or, for that matter, which one did you like the worst? Which one had the worst lore, the shittiest models, etc.?
The reverse of the above.
>Do you think 8th edition will change this in any way?
Less Horrid Heresy books and more original content have definitely seen a marked improvement in Black Library than the rock bottom depths that was 6e/7e.
>>53637630
The best one is the one you started with, of course!
And the worst one is always the latest. Some things are inbuilt in humans, it seems.
What games let me kill tabletop roleplayers?
>>53637443

Russian Roulette.
>>53637485
Russian Roulette doesn't let player kill other players.
What if the entire main cast of Trailer Park Boys was transported to the 41st Millennium and became Primaris Marines?
What the fuck is happening to /tg/?
>>53637550
>june
>>53637567
It's that time of the year?
How does one know if they're not alpharius? Can you even know? Does Alpharius even know who Alpharius is? How the actual fuck do the Alpha legion keep things straight when certain people need to be called for? Is there really no such legion?
These are questions that require answering.
Literally me
everyone except Alpharius is not Alpharius.
then again...
>>53636925
I'm pretty sure I'm not Alpharius.
Wrote up a first draft for my dudes. Imperial Guard subterranean assault specialists. Since their planets surface was completely fucked they live in vast networks of underground tunnels (think Vietcong tunnels, but more permanent) and have gotten REALLY good at digging said tunnels. Now they dig underneath battlefields doing hit and runs, collapsing the ground underneath fortifications and rising up from beneath the imperiums enemies as a single huge assault. They also have a ravener problem and hate loud noises.

What does /tg/ think?
>>53636572
Ghouls is a little too Nurgle-y. Is there anything else you might want to call them?
>>53636572
Pretty cool story bro.
Sick picture too.
Like the sort of Death World feel going on too.
Kriegers but even more underground?
Molemen of /k/ ?
