I'm building a monster girls setting for my players that want one.

Because this is a very weird request coming from some awesome(if strange) players I wanna make a very unconventional feeling world

>what are some unheard of but awesome monsters to put in here?

Hoo boy... I've gotta bump this thread because taken seriously... things could get interesting.

Your best bet is to base it off of Centaur's Worries and Kui Ryoko's body of work. Less fetish that way. Golden Sky Stories is a good system to look at as well.

Bottom line: MAKE IT FUCKING COMFY.

Monsters are a diverse order of magical parasitoids created by a jealous creator god that only wished for Their creations to have something to challenge them.

Monsters are exponentially stronger than any human, and passively emit a corrupting miasma that brainwashes male humans into wanting to mate with them unconditionally and forcibly transforms female humans into monsters. The fact that this would inevitably lead to the extinction of the entire human race and the subsequent extinction of every monster incapable of asexual reproduction is well-acknowledged, but no efforts are being made by monsters to prevent it. Humans who attempt to prevent this are either killed by monsters or enslaved.

The only way to effectively prevent this slow, crawling, raping apocalypse would be to kill and replace the monsters' sovereign demideific overlord. Unfortunately, the monster overlord shows no interest in giving up their seat and is far too powerful for the creator god to defeat personally. For some reason, this is seen as a good thing by everyone.

Interesting ideas for exotic monster girls include "Girl With Thematic Hair Accessories", "Girl With The Lower Half Of A Wild Animal", "Girl With Thematic Hair Accessories And Unusual Skin Color", and "Girl With The Lower Half Of A Wild Animal, Hair Accessories, And Unusual Skin Color".

How long until the obvious twist is revealed of Guilliman being an agent of Chaos because Games Workshop will never ever allow their author-insert Evil Stu faction to lose, be challenged or be set back so that they can destroy the Wh40k world and introduce a new line of extremely simplified games set in a retarded pocket dimension the Emperor created to start a new Age for himself?

Holy fuck how stupid are you OP? They literally changed the results of that global campaign years ago because Chaos BTFO of Imperium so bad but Imperium fags whined too much.

The only reason Age of Sigmar was made was because Warhammer Fantasy was completely dead. 40k still has a lot of players.

I'm trying to make a decently optimized ranged initiator that's more interesting than "boost+full attack". Is a Gunsmoke Mystic a viable option for this?
>>
Forget about 'armor' lets talk about Starfinder and our hopes for power armor! We all know vesk get MUH HERITAGE armor but what about Spess Marine style suits? Is that reserved for like Azlanti Star Empire or is just the stand-in for plate-wearing martials?

Do any of you fa/tg/uys get pre-game jitters? What do you do to get rid of the anxiety that can come from running a game?

>What do you do to get rid of the anxiety that can come from running a game?
A good fap, a slug of rum, and remembering that ultimately it's just a game, and bad/dead games happen and are generally forgotten, unless they're bad enough to serve as drinking stories or object lessons.
>>
>>53658111
Eat something. It helps. Don't over do caffeine. Sometimes going for a walk helps chill me out.

Take a break every couple hours in game too. Ask for feedback when you're done. Lot of anxiety is worrying about shit no one else cares about or notices so checking that against the people you're around helps.
>>
>>53658111
Used to. These days, I just remind myself that we're all friends and no one's going to hold anything against me if I make a mistake or two. Before I grew that kind of confidence, I'd just push myself through it and the jitters would go away within a half or hour so of starting the game.

Isn't the guy in your OP pic closer to a Binder in the movie? He makes pacts with his "friends on the other side" that grant him mystical powers, and seems to be able to negotiate with them at least a little bit.

I could deal with playing as him.

As I said, I can see it; I'll experiment with it when writing my next couple of jumps.

Good call, will do.

I'd really prefer not to. I hate having "generic" drawbacks when they're not justified by the setting (for example, Amnesia in Negima made sense, but here it really doesn't), so if I did that I'd end up just cutting it completely. I know it's a serious challenge, but in my opinion 300 CP drawbacks are supposed to be serious risks; and after all, slaves DO escape on their own, even without any outside knowledge, help, or skills.

New drawback for Carmen Sandiego:
What In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?: +300 CP
Well, now there’s an explanation for Carmen’s impossible thefts. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly kid-friendly; as one of the Tindalosians, she’s actually from a place outside the normal angles of reality, with slightly… different perceptions of “legality” and “property” and “Time and Space.” If you want to retrieve the things she’s stolen now, you’ll have to end up journeying to places like dread Rl’yeh to bring back the concept of cause and effect, and if you don’t undo her crimes the entire world will suffer for it (It’s really rather important that nobody steals away the Forbidden Plateau of Leng, otherwise about six different apocalypses will occur at once). Further, her minions are no longer just humans with silly names, but other horrors from space, such as Shoggoths and Mi-Go.

So I'm going to make a game in the form of an app.

I basically want friends to sit around and play pen-and-paper-like games via their smartphones.

It should be easy-to-use, heavily narrative-based, and fun for casuals as well as veterans.

Anyone have any ideas they'd like to see fleshed out?

>heavily narrative-based
>your average smartphone user
how much reading we talkin here
>>
>>53656872
Why?
What benefit does using an app over paper and pencils have?
What's the premise of the game?
What are the game's mechanics?
How long will a game last?
Is it transient, or do things carry over from session to session?
>>
>>53656965
Well, I want to put the narrative in the player's hands—like in Dungeon World.

So hopefully not much reading, but I want to provide an escape hatch for people who are bad at storytelling.

>>53656970
>Why?
I'm not a fan of having to memorize rule books, or haul them, character sheets, bags of dice, etc. around everywhere.

>What benefit does using an app over paper and pencils have?
Above reasons + I think it'd be a nice way to get normie friends into pen-and-paper.

>What's the premise of the game?
I want it to be generic so people can pick what type of setting they want, and they'll develop the story as the game goes on.

Also kind of hoping you guys had some insight on this. I'm pretty casual.

>What are the game's mechanics?
Again, just looking for ideas at this point. I'll flesh this out more later.

>How long will a game last?
As long as people want to keep playing a campaign.

>Is it transient, or do things carry over from session to session?
Depends on the universe players create, but I'd assume it'd default to session-to-session.

Sorry if these answers are vague. I'm not trying to be lazy. I just got a hair up my ass to get to work on this today, and I want the system to be generic as fuck with an emphasis on players developing the setting/story as they go.

Hey there, /tg/

I'm working on a dice popper board for the wife's birthday and I'm having trouble deciding what symbols should go on the 6 circles around the edge. We play 5th edition but I can't really seem to track down a good resource for glyphs or runes that mean actual words or concepts instead of just individual letters.

Any ideas?

One that jumps to mind is Thieves Cant, but I don't know that there's an actual set of symbols. It was used in real life for wandering hobos, but it's included in D&D 5e as a secret language for rogues

What's the name of the pen/paper game where players share storytelling duties to recreate reality?

Players also vote on what traits a player exhibited during a round, and those traits are translated to that character's physical appearance.

Thanks in advance!

>you're all college-aged adults playing a game about regularly fighting to be death and breaking fingers bothers you?

I wasn't surprised I was shut down in character (lawful and good party), but the fact that I creeped out a group of eight adults with something so minor stuck with me.
>>
My male, half-orc inquisitor-esque character grabbed an informant by the balls because he was clearly hiding something and wouldn't fess up. Some players looked at me like this wasn't a common media trope, 'though I initially brushed such glances aside. Well, until one player asked me if my character was gay and I just painfully rolled my eyes and told him he was a child.

That's super weird. Some people really lack perspective when they're playing imaginary games — must be their lack of creativity.

It's less weird emotional problems and more a bias they're not seeing. If you pointed out how much Literal Murder happens they'd probably realize they're being silly
