There is a rather popular, as well as soundly founded, belief that with the advances in robotics/computer technologies that the vast majority of careers will be taken by robots and AIs in the future.
How do you justify organics still having jobs in Science Fiction settings where you wish to maintain an economic system similar to real world ones now?
>>53709911
I'd say for the jobs where the robots cant reach.
In my setting robots aren't small and/or articulated enough to reach the bowels of spacecrafts for inflight repairs, so we have humans braving the depths to perform maintenance on damaged components, said damage caused by space parasites.
Particularily smart robots are illegal, as they have a nasty habit of turning homicidal. That leaves dumb robots for labour and people for challenging work.

How did Inuquisitor Greyfax question Saint Celestine's divinity? Isn't the holy flames, the wings and halo, and literally being empowered by the Emperor a dead giveaway? Wouldn't she even feel the Emperor's divine blessing from her or something.
She was just messing with her.
Isn't Greyfax a top tier telepath?

>Isn't the holy flames, the wings and halo, and literally being empowered by the Emperor a dead giveaway
Look at Thorianism or Horusianism as traditions in the Inquisition. They know how to get there without the Emperor being involved at all; the rest is showmanship.
That said, time to put on the /u/ goggles.

My players were in a section of the sewers run by a thieve's guild, which was lorded over by a lich. They killed the lich. they open the door onto a library, and are confronted by a faintly glowing skeleton slowly floating towards the door. They have o clerics, but several have religion; they presume it's a ghost.
One reaches out to stab it with their ghost touch silver dagger. If he hadn't had resistance to acid, it would have been much more amusing, but as it was, the gelatinous cube gripped his arm mercilessly, and slowly started to engulf him.
What made it all the more amusing is this is a monster I'd warned them about months before.

My first character was an edgy shit.

Played a stereotypical edgelord ninja for a kinda "not joke-session but as close as you can get."
To top it all off, he was an ogre that rejected his own culture to try and be nihonjin, it was pretty great, the party loved him for all of the irony and jokes.
Pic related, the one i made for him quickly.

>>53706047
Good money, salvage and research once the critters inside have been cleared out. You've got about a 1 in 2 chance of coming out ahead.
As players, you know you're going to be in for a wild fun or suspenseful adventure so as players you win either way.
>>53706047
The heroes are there on a distress call. Why would they expect anything good? It's like the police being called out and expecting a birthday party. Makes no sense.

I'm looking at starting a game for some friends of mine to introduce them to the world beyond DnD 5e but the ability to run whatever I want without player's demanding something from me has left me a little overwhelmed by options. What's a good fantasy RPG to use as "baby's second tabletop game"?
Pic completely unrelated
Boy, do I have them amazing baby tabletops. Ryuutama and Mouse Guard. Both are amazing, newbie friendly games promoting something more than "hit a bigger enemy with this new ability that lets you roll bigger dice". Mouse Guard wants you to manage in a harsh and brutal world of mud, cramped spaces and overwhelming odds while promoting roleplay and teamwork. There were people doing Dragon's Dogma in that system.
Ryuutama introduces is ridiculously easy to understand, engages gm by making him play a narrator dmpc, and using simple methods, engages your players into item management and party roles. I can't recommend that one enough. Shame I have to post from my phone
>>53705646
>Ryuutama and Mouse Guard
Never read either, but I know one of the players really wanted to do mouse guard because of how much he loved redwall as a kid. I was under the impression that the mechanics were really married to the talking animal fluff though. Will take a look.
A big thing for me is not having to constantly reference a book for spells/abilities/whatever during combat. How are they about that?
>>53705507
Use Fate. Go stronger on the storytelling angle, resolve combat with one roll, 3 tops if the combat is significant or long. Get the players to understand that minis on the map, attack of opportunity and d8 longswords are simply the boring details.
Your heroic paladin does not fight the goblins individually, he charges in the front and clashes with the 3 at once (roll), rallies the footmen to follow his lead (roll, adding the extra +es from the first roll) and coordinates the footmen attack until the goblins are fleeing (roll). The rogue assasinates the warchief (also 3 rolls), the ranger takes out the sige-gang commanders and spots the pilediver group that threatened to encircle your left flank -- also in 3 rolls or less. And that's the combat -- the most boring part of the session, the real challenge was to bring every piece and player together to make the battle happen on our terms.
Anyway, that's what our GM did to us -- we accomplished many a heroic feats without finding out how much damage our weapons did or rolling for initiative. And it put DnD into a correct perspective.

This is current.
Hey all, I am currently thinking of collecting a Space Marine army, but can not decide between Dark Angels or Space Wolves.
I like the Dark Angles colour scheme and their decent amount of fire power, but I'm not so sure about their whole "quest for redemption" and secrecy thing.
I like Space Wolves because, well, I like wolves, their unique models, Leman Russ and their fluff. I do think that they have a bit too much wolfiness, and was wondering how their fire power measured up.
I know I can just make my own chapter and add things I like about DA and SW to it but I'd rather just do one or the other.
Any help would be appreciated guys and sorry if this thread has already been posted.
>>53704661
I say go Angels, I don't play SM (Guard) but on a lore basis, as a suggestion, read more about the Lion if you haven't, and the whole knightly orders and such. Deathwing too, they are pretty bad ass. I have recently developed less of an uncaring attitude towards them since I see the Angels more as knights rather than inquisitors, what with all the secrecy. Also, look at some of the Dark Angels successor chapters, you may find something you like even more.
>>53704661
Strategists or retards that simply charge the enemy? Take your pick.
>>53705079
Thanks! I like the fact that there are instances where SW's care about civilians and such. I have heard that Dark Angels kill their own to keep their secrets, and the fact that they have/were infiltrated by a Changeling and was not sure if that was true or not. I did a little bit of reading into the Lion and there wasn't much that stood out to me but I'll give it another shot.

What's a neat little detail you love about some models?
I love that most unhelmeted GK heads have arming caps and/or old man faces. They're grizzled veterans and Knights/Paladins in Space, and I love that.
So, where the hell did GW find the old, old, old Plastic Terminator mold from 2nd Edition, and what possessed them to rerelease them in a new set instead of the Black Reach buddies?
Seriously, I was down with buying the Build+Paint Heavy set for the cheap dread and Termis, until I saw they were the super outdated models.
