Depends a lot on the tone of the game, although >>53769370 adds nuance. Whichever you do? Be consistent.
Nothing pisses me off more than character generation using different scaling to character progression, meaning that two people can end up with vastly stronger or weaker characters due to the inconsistency in translating between generation budget and progression budget.
Just use one system for everything, keep it consistent and know the strength of your system, what you're trying to achieve with it and what will add to that.

Last thread >>53740001 was made by me to get ideas and opinions on a setting I wish to GM in the future.
As for system the majority thought either GURPS or a homebrew version of Dark Heresy 2ed.
The overall theme of the setting is a Noble Dark one with a medieval theme only set in the future of earth after an apocalyptic crisis.
Equal rights are a thing of the past, the world is in a decentralized mess, conflict is a constant thing both within and without and the Catholic church has regained it's power over the western world it had in time of old.
Hover bikes are used as cavalry, Knights and Men-at-Arms use power armor yet guns are still a thing being mostly used by peasants.
Post more futuristic knights if you want and feel free to both provide ideas and use this for your own games !

It's already established that the US turned into a mix of HRE and medieval Italy with various medieval themed republics (things such as noble republics or merchant republics and such) and that they provide a lot of mercenary jobs for people willing to become "Contractors" which are the setting's equivalent to Condotta.

Every time I see this, it pisses me off more. Yes, if you want combustion, you need an oxidizer. Oxygen is also the third most common element in the universe, which means that most alien life will be using it as well.

It's ~80% Nitrogen, ~20% Oxygen. N2 is notable for being one of the most chemically boring things we've found in nature. There's probably some trace amounts of Hydrogen, but if there was enough to start a significant reaction, every time someone flicked a lighter there'd be a massive fireball.

Traveller is a classic science fiction system first released in 1977. In its original release it was a general purpose SF system, but a setting was soon developed called The Third Imperium, based on classic space opera tropes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with a slight noir tint.
Though it can support a wide range of game types, the classic campaign involves a group of retired veterans tooling around in a spaceship, taking whatever jobs they can find in a desperate bid to stay in business, a la Firefly or Cowboy Bebop.

I'd like to request my Crab Clan Shugenja girl. She should have the basic skin color, body type and hairstyle of Baiken (in the middle), except with black hair and blue eyes. She's wearing blue robes like the set in the bottom-right image, with a blue-grey cloud-like pattern on them. One hand is pointing out at her enemy, with a spray of jade darts erupting from it like in the top-right image, while the other arm is clad in heavy blue-grey armor like in the far left image, and should be casually holding a jade tetsubo on her shoulder.

I'm the Anon working on the custom tiny 'bot system that uses scaled-down Spaceships rules. I tried making a powered battlesuit and ended up with something comparable to TL9 Powered Combat Armor on my first try (with some exceptions, namely that the ST for the battlesuit was INSANE and needs serious scaling). I'm pretty happy with the results though.
If anyone want me to try and make a 'bot or battlesuit, throw ideas my way and I'll stress test my system.
