Seriously people, I wake up, start to read the thread and it archives and nobody had made a new thread because you were too busy trying to get SDA to post smug animes? It takes like 10 seconds to make a new thread. Go hog wild, I guess.

I don't want to sound like a Slaaneshi faggot but, I'm just tired of ripping out skulls for the skull throne. Doesn't the Blood God want a armoire made of spines maybe?
I'm sure the throne could use a footstool. You could make it out of feet, that would be fun.
>>53828836
Well not to criticize a fellow Khornate too much here, but you do sound a bit ungrateful. If you get tired of SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE you always get the choice to instead give BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD. Whenever I get bored of one I always switch off and let me tell you the difference is plenty to keep you busy.

do what u want man
>High fantasy high magic
>High fantasy low magic
>Low fantasy high magic
>Low fantasy low magic
Which does /tg/ prefer?
Personally I prefer low fantasy high magic. You get to explore all the possibilities of a fantastical world but can focus on small events and the people that shape them. Not everything has to be a dramatic world-ending threat.
Out of those options, I prefer high fantasy, low magic.
I'm a sucker for fantastical worlds that aren't just rehashes of bygone human cultures. And low magic, so the story itself is still focused on individual characters and local-ish events.
>>53828787
Aren't high fantasy and high magic the same thing? And vice versa?
Either way, high fantasy. Epic, mythological shit is the best.
>>53828787
I'd probably classify my preference as being high fantasy low magic. I like interesting worlds and settings that have a lot of weird geography and the like, but in terms of magic I prefer it to be common, but generally weaker.
fantastical bronze age adventures. How would they differ from the 'standard' setting of fantasy medieval land?
people use bronze instead of iron
The heroes will likely be some sort of demi-gods. Other gods hate thier guts and will try to fuck with them. Religion may be less organized and local. City-states, city-states everywhere, even if these have been conquered by a larger empire, the city-state will likely keep its very own culture and deity. Oh yeah, cities having their own gods. People use bronze instead of iron, except that's not entirely true. Iron saw some use in that age, it just wasn't widespread. You will also find all kinds of copper and stone tools in this age.
>>53830673
Also forget that kings often were also the highest priests of their city.
Hey, /tg/, let's go on an adventure! I even have a party all rolled up!
>Vestivus, the human bard. She's fresh faced and eager to learn of the world, but unsure of herself in a fight
>age: 22
>level: 1st
>Gilnfro, the dwarven fighter. he's a grizzled, battle hardened warrior who doesn't suffer fools well and drinks constantly. He's been fighting for millenia, and has fought in battles which raged for days
>age: 538
>level: 1st
>Thilmautor, the elven warlock. A powerful magic user, she has seen many ages come and go, like the rolling tide upon a beach. A seasoned adventurer, she has seen horrors that would make the bravest of human men cry to think of facing them
>age: 1,205
>level: 1st
>Elmjoy, the halfling rogue. He spends most of his time drinking, eating, and laying around his hobbit home, but occassionally likes to steal apples from Mrs. MacGregor (the scamp)!
>age: 48
>level: 1st
My plan for the campaign is for them to all go to fight some goblins (an equal threat to all of them, to be sure), maybe face an ogre oe something, and maybe they'll ALL even gain their 2nd level! Who knows! Man, it sure is exciting dealing with novice, completely untrained adventurers!
>>53828505
I roll to seduce the elf
>>53828505
>Fighting for millennia
>Not even a thousand years old
>>53828505
There is literally nothing wrong with this.
Hey /tg/ im still really new to the hobby of Warhammer40k and I'm trying to learn everything (even though a new edition is coming out) and i have a small play group of 5 others who are mostly casual but 2 are Extremely annoying to play with, they both do the same shit,
>Calculates every single movement as much as possible, spends like 10 minutes on a single move just to make sure its perfect
>Plays eldar and brought a super heavy walker to my 2th time ever playing and basically wiped the floor with me
>people where complaining that their/his eldar where annoying so he swaps to tau, brings 2 riptides to a another game with a different player in the group
>Consistently skips over rules and doesn't let me double check because "we have went over this before"
Is this normal or just kinda bad stuff i can deal with? or is it sign of a awful player? how can i avoid playing with them without seeming like a jerk?
Sounds like a dick. Honestly its a game to have fun, if you're not having any then you've fucked up. So just when you get to the tables say you're looking for a "narrative game" (code for fun) and if the list they pull out isn't chill- say you'll play someone else and actually do it.
Some people have fun winning, some have fun playing. Find your type of player and schedule games only with them,
>>53827788
Sounds like you're dealing with tourney players who aren't willing to cut you some slack.
Either don't play with them if you don't enjoy competitive play, or just wait for 8th when the current power lists will all be really toned down.
Looks like you're playing 7th edition 40k
In 8th edition FW superheavies don't have rules yet and riptides were nerfed into the ground.
I advise you stop playing a really shitty edition.
ITT: we play with an alchemiter
>You have your whole house at your disposal to alchemize any and all objects together for some incredible or shitty loot.
>Using || (OR) combines the items together with the function of one and the form of the other.
>e.g. pogo ride || hammer = a pogo ride in the shape of a hammer
>e.g. hammer || pogo ride = A hammer in the shape of a pogo ride
>Using && (AND) combines the items together with both functions and appearances.
>e.g. pogo ride && hammer = A hammer that USES a pogo
I kinda wanna see this thread succeed so bump?
As for combinations ID conditional and combine a beyblade (using the spinning thing that makes it go as a part of it) and some really edgy pants I've got that have more metal than cloth to make a super hardcore death spinner that does fifty bajillion damage because it's just that edgy
>>53827743
I'm assuming that we also have a captcha deck, because that's kinda required for this to work.
>Printer && Captcharoid Card
>>Captcharoid Printer
Like the captcharoid camera, but it's a printer. I can print any object off of the internet as a ghost image for use in alchemizing.
>Ghost Image of Lead || Ghost Image of Steel Plate
>>Lead Plate
I'm just gonna print off a lot of these, a welder's mask, and some welding tools, then make me a lead box. Oh, and a radiation suit. You'll see why.
>Ghost Image of Eridium Chunks || Ghost Image of Iron Ingot
>>Eridium Ingot
>Eridium Ingot && Ghost Image of .357 SIG Kriss Vector 2 with Dual Drum Mag
>>Kriss Vector Plasma Caster
I am, and have been since I played it, a fan of Borderlands. E-tech is friggin' dope.
>Kriss Vector Plasma Caster || Ghost Image of X's Mega Buster
>>Vector Variable Plasma Caster
>Ghost Image of Programming for Dummies || Ghost Image of X's Mega Buster
>>Coding Variable Weapon Entities for Dummies
So, I needed a plasma weapon base for the variable weapon system, and a way to code for it. Now I just need a terminal.
>Coding Variable Weapon Entities for Dummies || Ghost Image of Personal Computer
>>Variable Weapon Modification Terminal
Boom. Done.
Now I just need armor, and it's going to be, uh, more of the same. Printing out ghost images of stuff that's super useful, then combining it. And, yeah, killing a whole shit-ton of imps to pay for it all.
>>53827743
I think I have a potentially funny and disastrous combination
My father's gun || A bottle of water
Then I would just leave it in a store or something

Reminder that DHB brought these concepts and was told to fuck off because they didn't tickle the GM's dick.
>Mad Dog True Primitive Barbarian || Hussar Beast Rider Cavalier VMC Witch
>PrC into Mammoth Rider
>Tribal champion and representative of his people being sent to east to Mendev for the crusades from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. His tribe lives on the eastern side of the Realm of the Mammoth Lord and he grew up with his culture centered around fighting and killing demons. He defeated two powerful demons to prove himself worthy to the shaman before being sent.
>Techslinger Maverick Gunslinger || Primalist Wizard VMC Bard
>PrC into Technomancer
>Ranking member of the Technic league and hero of a station place on the northern border with The World Wound. Ended up defending the station for four days straight by himself before detonating the entire place and returning the Technic league. The Technic league did not agree with his decision and sent him as a representative to the crusades.
>Royal Accuser Urban Infiltrator Inquisitor || Hidden Blade Rogue VMC Bard
>PrC into Sleepless Detective
>Direct servant of the royalty of Ustalav, tasked with keeping the safety of the northern border with the World Wound. Elected among his fellows as the representative to the crusades when they are called after the death of his wife and embarrassment at court made it dangerous for him to stay in Ustalav.
Where were you when flavor/connection to events didn't matter and all that mattered was baiting the GM's fetishes.
>>53827690
Mental stats are for fucking plebeians
I'm gonna play my super athletic, thicc and healthy wife with quality build memes, and she's gonna be dumb as a brick, lack common sense, and be absolutely unpersuasive. And then someone better mindbreak and bully her like she secretly wants
being a player that started out with D&D 3.5 I am currently scared of trying out GURPS since I have heard it to be a complex game.
Is my fear justified ? Would GM'ing it be frustrating ?
>>53827665
It's complex, but like anything else you'd have to get used to it, and if you don't like it nobody's gonna force you to run it.
>>53827710
Yet right now it seems like the only thing I can run for the setting I had in mind.
>>53827710
>It's complex
It really isn't. It has very simple mechanics.
How can I make a setting for this thing that captures what the setting is made out to be rather than bland medieval fantasy but now there's technomagic instead of wizards.
>>53827587
You can stop thinking in terms off generic, status-quo medieval fantasy settings, for one thing.
>>53827622
I'm sorry I used the word wizard?
>>53827587
Use the Book of the New Sun netbook instead.

How have you worked classical sci-fi elements (and not necessarily high technology or psionics) into your campaigns? Have you ever played in a space opera campaign, or visited another planet in your games? How would you handle the incorporation of these things into an otherwise bog-standard fantasy setting?
How would you make a ring of power artifact in your game?
I hope the autism gnollanon and his group hop on here at the same time.
