How would the Republic from Star Wars turn out if the Jedi Succeeding in their Little Coup d'état over a democratic-elected Chancellor?
Would the Senate and the People accept it without any issue?
Would they take Issue and Demand the Jedi to Stop at Once due to Palpatine being Beloved Figure?
I mean how were the Jedi going to succeed with their takeover?
>>53832181
The Jedi weren't seizing control, they were removing Palpatine
Without Palpatine influence, what remained of the separatists would have fallen apart, and the more corrupt elements of the Senate would have had no leader to rally behind.
It could have gotten messy but until Palpatine claimed otherwise, the Jedi were above reproach
>>53832181
When you think about it, killing Palpatine would have REALLY shifted the balance in the favor of the Jedi.
There was a ridiculous number of moving parts during the Clone Wars and it only lasted as long as they did because the guy in charge on their side was literally feeding information to the other side on a regular enough basis that the War kept dragging on with more and more casualties to their troops, requiring more and more effort to compensate.
If Sidious dies then the Seperatists (or at least the parts actually driving the war itself forward rather then the much more reasonable planets who were dissatisfied with the Republic) are effectively rudderless and leaning towards peace since even Nute Gunray was tired of all the bullshit that came with his dead.
The Senate is still corrupt, but the key figure of it's corruption and the one paying most of the bribes and with the most skill at exploiting weaknesses is dead. Hell, if they ONLY killed him and then just had him disappear and not even publicly admit that they did it a TON of their problems suddenly would become easier to deal with.
The only weakness in Sidious' plan was that it required him to work at all, so if Windu had managed to waste him the whole thing would fall apart, especially since the only other guy who knew the details he'd had Anakin kill a few days ago.
>>53832303
I don't think Sidious cared about his plan surviving him. He was selfish, not like he wanted change for it's own sake.

If we have a bunch, I'll put them into a roll-table.
No takers?

Anyone here play bolt action and if so what army do you play
pic related
My friend and I are getting into it. Not many people play it, despite the fun and easy rule set. I bought a box of the British Paratroopers. I'll start an SS and heer allied force, when the SS come out in plastic.
I have a panzergrenadiers force and I'm starting on Americans. Not sure if I want to do an Armored Company list or Rangers though.
Have a standard brit and german list. not many but im poor and also play saga. would love to have a french or polish list though just for their quirks.

What's a cool system to run a horror-themed family road trip in?
Preferably something with a sanity mechanic, or something to represent the family bonds between the characters. I was thinking Unknown Armies but that's unlikely to contain a family unit as a party.
>Pic related, I just want the group to run into weird shit like this (or Mist creatures) and have the parents frantically making checks to reassure the children as they cower in terror in the backseat

OP here. Same. I think it's deliberate.
>give players an "average" ability score
>let them pick whatever scores they want

Why don't more people do this?

>kick out anyone that even jokes about trying to give themselves all 18s
>playing D&D
>expecting sane and reasonable people who are mutually committed and capable of building a good narrative
It's more likely to find a millennial who has actually read the GURPS core.

Wouldn't everyone pick 16 then?
Faggots over at Giants In The Playground never responded to this shit...
Default Alternate System: Fallout (Exodus) D20
I am creating a campaign/world for a new campaign that I am going to try this Summer (2017). My friends and I love the Fallout series more than you could imagine, and we are willing to try this system despite its flaws.
Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, stories, or anything else they'd like to discuss?
Post it here!
The campaign: I am deciding against giving the players a big main quest--having GM'd for them for 2 campaigns prior and seeing how they work, I think this will work out better. Rather, I have created a world map Fallout2-style gridmap and I will let them explore it at their own pace. I have created plenty of towns and factions for them to interact with as they wish, and have created some important npc characters--some of which may join them as a GMPC, should they ask.
The world : I will follow mainly Fallout lore, but I will incorporate Exodus' lore just so they don't get lazy and get in the mode of "Oh, its Fallout, got it." However, I will rename many of the elements that Exodus clearly intended to be Fallout elements and have them work as the Fallout world would; I.E. Ghuls being ghouls... Trans-genetic mutants clearly being super mutants.
I intend on incorporating synths, but they won't be a major element--think about the super mutants in Fallout: New Vegas--they exist, but they are scarce and only congregated to a few spots on the map.
Grid-Map details: I have written up a list of random encounters (35% chance of encounter every 2 squares traveled on map). The map of the world is 11x17 squares and is marked with 17 locations (towns mainly). I want to keep the world simple, but still give them enough freedom to explore, and give them a realistic feel for the world--its a nuclear wasteland in a desert, it's going to be barren, but settlements still exist.
Nothing to contribute, but I'm bumping this. Fallout is too good a universe to leave up to just videogames.

>Giant In The Playground
Fuck off. You aren't welcome here.
>>53826161
I feel like this is one of the few times I can honestly ask why you aren't just using GURPS without it being a meme, considering that's what Fallout was going to use until the deal with SJG fell through.
Why does he sound like such a balla?

How little has changed...
So, I've been meaning to do this for a while, becaus /tg/ enjoys Lovecraft and comics, so here it is: I. N. J. Culbard's rendition of what I personally find is Lovecraft's best story.

Can I get a quick rundown on Rifts?
I bought a few books at the local thrift store, and "Vampire Kingdoms" was one of them. I flipped through it and it was pretty much just a bunch of shit about south american vampire lords or somesuch bullshit.
>>53815291
This is the book I bought.
Is Rifts worth getting into?
Only if you want to support a tranny loving thief.
>>53815291
>>53815302
Rifts is pretty fun if you like absolutely fucking insane 80s brand sci fi fantasy. And don't mind a clunky but somehow charming system.
Rifts is not worth getting into legally, as the company that makes it is run by a dangerously insane man who is also a huge scumbag.
Has anyone played this? How is it?
I usually detest being hyperbolic, but it's overly contrived, Eastern European schlock.
>>53814064
Germany isn't eastern European (yet).
>>53814072
It used to be, but that's besides the point. I was referring more to the mentality that went into the game's creation.
Whats your favorite D&D Edition /tg/?
>>53807059
i like all of them :3
>>53807059
2nd edition AD&D, for it finds the middleground between the lethal and gritty old editions, and the story-driven new ones, allowing me to easily run either one, even within the same campaign.
I also enjoy the Basic D&D as well as a number of retroclones.
I used to play 3rd edition and Pathfinder a fair bit but these days have rather drifted away from them, though I can still have a good time with them provided the right group and DM.
Never really got into 4th or 5th edition, but I'm sure they have their merits as well.

1E. Warhammer 1E
Seriously, how the fuck does a force relying on getting into melee with swords and claws not get completely BTFO by everyone in the setting just shooting at them? Even the Orks and tyranids have better ranged options than them. Are the chaos gods incapable of giving their troops guns or some shit? Why are they sending the same forces they used against fantasy Germans against super advanced space elves?
Because the daemons can make the mind go insane, cause plague, or just teleport behind u every static defence.
>>53803299
demons don't work like you think. Who needs guns when you can walk through walls and shrug off bullets like they're nothing?
>>53803299
Bullets are so effective and replaced all other weapons because we are humans.
We can be killed with ONE of those.
In a universe where riddling something with bullets DOESN'T kill it immediately, the effectiveness of guns is reduced.
A phalanx of infantry with spear and shield today isn't scary because you can just incapacitate them all with one machinegun burst.
Now imagine if they DIDN'T stop marching towards you OR scatter or even break formation once you filled them with holes. Suddenly they become a concern again.
Creatures of the Old World edition.
