Anons, what are the stores by your FLGS, and how do they have an impact on the store, if any?
I have two game stores in my town. One actually shares the space with a Mexican restaurant... which even the Hispanic guys that frequent the store say is a pile of Shit. The only good thing there is the Jarritos Soda.
However, there's also a Wienerschnitzel right outside the door, and we often just pitch in a couple bucks each to bring in some of their Combo Meals. This has led to a LOT of controversy surrounding chili dogs at the table.
My other store shares the block with an antique store and a Hobby Shop. The Hobby Shop is honestly a better, cheaper option when it comes to turf, terrain, paints, brushes... basically everything to do with miniatures BUT the miniatures.
The antique store has actually had a bigger impact on the store because they have three massive cardboard boxes stuffed to the brim with the 1995 Star Wars TCG, which has seen something of a revival at the store thanks to it.
So, you guys have anything interesting surrounding your stores?
>>54000978
there was an awesome pizza place next to my place.
It got sold.
There's also an inconvenience store, that closes at 6pm, and a diner and Chinese food place which are pretty gud.
>>54000978
Back in the day was GW stores were a thing, we had a few places around that store. a KFC, a Fuddruckers, a Genuardi's and a Panera Bread. I'd say it didn't do much for the LGS but it was great business for those places.
>>54000978
Bump.
Despite everything /tg/ says bout furries, the fact is, D&D has been doing beastfolk races as legitimate alternatives to Tolkienian demihumans for a long time.
As in, some of the first racial options for Basic D&D included Lupins (faux-French swashbuckling wolf-people), Rakasta (samurai cat-people from the moon), Hsiao (philsopher-priest talking owls), Pookas (faeries in the form of impeccably dressed talking animals), Harpies, Centaurs, Pegataurs and Sphinxes.
So, I wanted to see if any anons out there have any ideas for ways to incorporate beastfolk races into a setting alongside - or even in place of! - the traditional demihumans.
This can be in the form of a single statement - "beaverfolk are to the riverways what dwarves are to the mountains" - or something more detailed.
>>54000171
The Ooze mutates people into whatever animal they have been closest to/share a connection with.
>>54000171
Eh. I've completely ditched the usual demihumans and goblins and orcs, and replaced them with reclusive animal people. Works okay.
>>54000171
For example, some ideas I've had in more detail... of course, 2 will get you 1 that someanon is going to say at least one of these is magical realmy.
Hutaakans: Cool, aloof jackal-folk who worship what is essentially Trag'Oul from Diablo. An entire culture of necromancers and witch-priests, hutaakans are regarded with leery eyes by most races, but aren't hostile unless provoked.
Gnolls: Formerly savannah-dwelling savages, the hyena-like gnolls were "uplifted" after being conquered and enslaved by the hutaakans. Although this has unified the one-warring tribes and risen them above their Stone Age roots, many gnolls still chafe under the leash and could eventually revolt against their oft-distracted and sometimes cruel "liberators".
Diomedians: A race of carnivorous mare-amazons, a failed experiment by some arrogant and delusional mage to engineer a race of warrior-slaves by magically crossing horses, with ogres, and perhaps a dash of wolf in the process. He lost control over them, and they have since spread over the world. Aggressive, belligerent and with a hunger for flesh, diomedians exist in tribal communities that gravitate to a life of banditry and mercenary work, but their surprising capacity for loyalty means that, particularly in the frontier regions, they are also respectable bodyguards and even neighbors - if somewhat disreputable.

Do you think, all things considerd, this is preferable to an eternity of torture inside Slannesh? What would Khorne's afterlife be like.
>>53998126
>What would Khorne's afterlife be like.
Better.
Khorne isn't the god of death, he's not the good of torture or pain.
He's the god of violence, so you'd probably be fighting. Most likely not a fair fight, but I'd rather fight for eternity than get raped for eternity.

Khorne Eldar sounds awesome as fuck.
Like Striking Scorpions or Incubus on steroids. Or a really brutal version of that Ynnari champion in the traditional eldar empire armor except with more blood and viking influence.
Literally waging an eternal war of vengence against that upstart purple whore that destroyed his race, and unleashing all that rage knowing that Khorne has his back.

Serrated ones. Beast Cutter, a Church Pick, a Saw Cleaver, a Saw Spear, a Threaded Cane (but only in whip mode), Whirligig Saw.
But really, once you git gud pretty much any type will do.

What changes?
>>53995954
The nobility become notably weaker.
>>53995954
>Every Demon Lord of the Abyss now has 9 levels in fighter.
>>53995954
My setting is mostly bureaucratic empire and the only 'Lords' are ruling clan - but their rule is backed by their political might and legitimacy, not strength of their arms. There probably wouldn't be any significant change.
Illithids know that only through the domination of others can they actualize their inner desires, needs, and future goals. A mind flayer cannot truly call itself an illithid until it passes the first rite of adulthood the domination of a new slave (better translated as thrall).
The relationship between illithids and their thralls is quite intimate. In fact, illithids suffer when their thralls die from age, disease, or conflict. An illithid without a mind to control is missing an integral part of itself. Mind flayers in this situation seek to reestablish new retinues of thralls as quickly as possible--sometimes ignoring other goals in the process.
An illithid community views anyone unable to secure mental slaves as flawed. Usually, an illithid in such an untenable situation flees its community in shame. Bereft of the constant companionship offered by thralls, these poor mind flayers either die quietly or lose their faculties to loneliness

Posts for the OP! Awesome for the awesome dude!
Greetings one and all, and welcome to the Bureau. Some of you might wonder what this is, others might not, but what you must really know is that we fight against the darkness so that others may continue to live in the light, unknowing of the danger. Some of you undoubtedly have questions, and they will be answered, all you have to do is ask. Now then, with that out of the way, care to introduce yourselves?
Hey, I'll get to fight bad guys. Small D.G., biker and microbiology aspirant.
I'm Lance Lambchop, demolitions and heavy weapons expert. I was born from two dads, both professional body builders, after a slip up during an arm wrestling competition. At age six I took down my first third world country dictatorship and installed democracy by force. I went on to get an education at Sheetrock University on a football scholarship, but was arrest for assault and battery. I also hate aliens.
>>53987087
Interesting. You seem very eager, my friend, wonder how you will do out in the field. Ah, but I have forgotten in my haste to introduce myself to you. I am High Administrator Arnalius, current head of this branch of the Bureau.
Advice!
Just created a character for a brand new campaign, and the DM had a suggestion of basically pulling personality quirks out of a hat. Extra RP elements and so on.
One player pulled a crippling fear of the dark, which I don't envy, but my Drow girl pulled 'STRICT nudist, for purely selfish reasons'
What classes are really feasible for a naked character? As I really like the idea of a warlock, and that seems to make sense, blasting peoples shit off from a distance with eldtritch blast with her tits out.
Any input or suggestions?
>>53984053
Warlock fits the most, especially in relation to her nudity being some product or clause of the Contract.
How naked are we talking, though? Boobs and bush, or just topless? The latter seems more realistic for a casual nudity character, though the former has some really fascinating implications depending on your Patron.
>>53984097
We worked out the rules after I pulled it.
Full frontal nude, so boobs and bush (or lack thereof, as I think elves have no body hair) but she can wear jewelry.
No web bra/sarongs, which was my immediate idea.
>>53984053
>Any input or suggestions?
Playing a caster of some kind seems like the best idea since it's not like they'd be wearing armour anyway. Other than social issues your biggest concern is going to be exposure. Are you allowed to wear something like a cloak? Otherwise you're going to need to try and find some magic items to protect you from the cold and adverse weather.
