Hey folks, I'm new to Magic. Can I get some tips on resolving New Perspectives?
Also, based on the spoilers we have so far do you think Hour of Devastation will be fun to draft?
>>54044454
in drafts it's mostly just a cmc6 draw 3. Not good but not bad either.
>HOU
dunno, they haven't spoiled a majority of the commons
>Friend who was suppose to reserve us spots for HOU prerelease never did it, and now doesn't have the cash to do so
I really hope when I get paid Friday there are still spots open.
>>54044478
I disagree, cycling decks in limited are already a thing, having new perspectives lets you play a combo deck in limited
Okay, so let me get this straight... Guilliman was removed from stasis and saved by the fucking Eldar? And this was sanctioned by the fucking INQUISITION? And there's a new chaos god?! And new mega space marines that take 1,000 years to make have shown up and this one fucking tecmagus spent 10,000 fucking years building them IN SECRET?! AND EVERYONE IS OKAY WITH THAT EVEN THOUGH ALTERING THE ALMIGHTY EMPEROR'S HANDYWORK IS CONSIDERED THE ULTIMATE FORM OF HERESY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111
Seriously? What the fuck is even happening over at GW?
>>54044166
They let the black library writers and sales team have more influence on the direction of the fluff and it went full on fanfiction
like they could have gone full on ITEHATTSD and it would have made more story sense than what actually is happening.
8Th Edition is to 40K what warlords of Draenor was to WoW

>>54044597
>he thinks WoW lore could be raped, when actual Warcraft lore ended on WC2
>you can't rape the willing, anon.
Base WC3 was the rape, after that the lore's hips were moving on their own.

The Imperium has always been propelled by hypocrites.
Also many people are NOT happy with it.
But they've currently been shut up by a goddamn motherfucking resurrected Primarch who has the Big E's approval.
And even he isn't that happy with the Primaris, but needs must.

I keep seeing people arguing Red Tithe says our Void lads are chimeric, in order to put forward the loyalist NL argument. Maybe I missed that part in the book, so can someone show it to me?
I for one think the Exiled Terran Raven Guard origins from FW makes a lot more sense, and it's not yet ANOTHER loyalist traitors descendant. Open for debate though, as soon as I can see the exact extract from the book.

but now FW retconned the Night Lords as ALSO having pale skin and black eyes
How to you store your DM notes?
>>54042300
In one physical folder for one of my games, in a digital folder for the other.
In a note book?
If you dont live with the pc's keeping notes secret should be simple.
And if your pc's are adults even living with them it should be easy.......adults dont raid each others rooms

What would be the "tastiest snack" for a dragon?
I'm pretty sure the traditional answer is virgins or princesses or something along those lines, but there's probably better options
>>54042281
A smaller dragon. Dragons are rampant cannibals, which is why juvenile dragons rarely linger in the territories of their elders.

Who here has given this a shot? What did you think of it?
How does it differ from other popular systems like D&D and Pathfinder?
No memes, please.
>>54041756
The system is shit. Any game that needs a 15-line table for swimming modifiers is terribly designed. The setting, as has been established many times OP, is godawful historical revisionism. If a book only has a bad setting, but good rules, you can play in your own setting using those solid rules. If a book only has bad rules, but a great setting, you can use your favourite rules that fit that setting in order to play.
MYFAROG has bad rules and a bad setting, and it's written in Papyrus. This is not a meme, OP. This is just the truth.
>>54041836
>as has been established many times OP
Apologies if this is a common thread, I don't come to this board often.
As per your review, it is very informative. Thanks. I don't play RPGs myself, but I have recently started watching Varg's videos and I was just wondering how the system holds up in the eyes of /tg/.
>>54041869
Wait, Varg has videos? I'm strangely tempted.
For your history lesson, we used to get semiregular bait threads that always went the same way. OP would claim to have played and found it alright what does everyone else think, everyone else would meme about, the thread would end. Eventually we got actual scans accompanied with a brutal play-by-play dissection of the game proper, which revealed it to be aggressively poorly designed in pretty much every respect.
Meme as it is, the fact that it's written in Papyrus really does represent the game as a whole: Not just incidentally shitty, but the special kind of obnoxious wank that comes from bad designers trying to get complex and cramming weird nonfunctional obsessions everywhere.
