How does /tg/ design their dungeons?
I want to homebrew my own stuff instead of using the books, but I'm so overwhelmed trying to prep a session that won't be shit.

There's a whole section in the D&D 5E DMG on making your own dungeons.

You can also use random generators like donjon.bin.sh.
>>
>>54095415
I do it one of two ways.

If I have a really good grasp of the party's level, dynamic, and overall aptitude at dealing with what I can throw at them, I'll make a big proper dungeon. I'll sit down with some graph paper and start sketching out a dungeon, usually around some kind of theme. Maybe the whole dungeon is a circle, based around a central column where they fight the final boss, or maybe it's build into the side of a mountain so there's a lot of little narrow cliffsides on one side of it, whatever. Then I start putting in monsters and adding in traps, with places to rest and recuperate placed to the assumption that they do relatively okay. Then I start filling in little cool bits, details, flavor and the like. Keep in mind that I only really do this if I know the group well and can accurately understand their challenge level.

What I do more often is design my dungeon's layout, then make myself a table/list of encounters, traps, and events and put a "starting placement" for them on the map, for what I assume the players can deal with. However, if I misjudged their skill with the last puzzle, or if they got really fucked up by what I thought was a normal fight, I'll change the upcoming area. I'll shuffle around encounters and events to make sure that they don't get wrecked, have a fun and challenging adventure, and it also gives me time to amend or rework monsters and traps if it turns out I misjudged their effectiveness.

Also as >>54095759 said, the 5e DMG has a great little random dungeon generator that's fun to fuck around with, and can give you some interesting ideas.

How do you feel about Paizo not trusting players to intelligently spend wealth and thus entirely removing starships from the economy? Are you upset by the fact that you can't buy ships, sell ships, or even scavenge enemy ships for spare parts?

So has anyone played a Sororita or a Sororita centric campaign? What was that like? I've only ever been involved with them by reading the lore, as I'm a poorfag who can't into minis, and my LGS doesn't have any 40k campaigns.

She's not in love, but someone's in love with her.

they met when her powers as a Feyspeaker came to light, and he witnessed the beauty of her soul. She's still terrified of him, however, as he is a fucking vilderavn

/tg/, I'm bored, I have a scanner, and I'm on an overnight shift. Let's make a Heretical Cult, and I'll try and draw some stuff for it. After all, the Imperium can always do with a few more dastardly villains.

We'll be using https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Heretical_Cult_Creation_Tables to make it, and let's have some fun and be creative!

First I need 1d20 for the cult's background.

I find the flaws in the Cypher System Rulebook to be quite bothersome.

1. Intellect is clearly and obviously the best statistic of them all, covering all tasks of "intelligence, wisdom, charisma, education, reasoning, wit, willpower, and charm" (page 15) and even healing (page 210), looking or listening (page 212), social interactions (page 212), disabling devices and locks (page 213), gaining insights (page 217), and using most cyphers (page 241). Intellect covers an absolutely insane span of tasks. This might have been passable in a wilderness/dungeon-focused setting like Numenera, but in other settings, Intellect is king.

2. Ranged beats melee. In this game, if you want to both move and attack, you can move only 10 feet by default. If you want to move further than 10 feet and attack, you must succeed on a difficulty 4 Speed task (difficulty 2 if you purchase a specific special ability), and bad things happen if you roll a natural 1.

Also, ranged attacks made within 10 feet lower the difficulty of the attack by 1. Melee attacks do not have this benefit. Yes, ranged weapons are more accurate than melee weapons within 10 feet.

Similarly, most attacks in combat target your Might, so you will want to conserve your Might as much as possible rather than spend it.
Because of this, ranged weapons are simply better than melee weapons. (Consequently, Speed is better than Might.)

Under the "fantasy" equipment list, longbows are weaker than greatswords, but the movement restrictions and the point blank bonus still make a longbow preferable to a greatsword. Use Speed and Speed Edge to attack with a longbow, take Practiced in Armor to start with elven chainmail for free, and laugh at anyone who bothered with melee.

Under the "modern" and "science fiction" equipment lists, there are better ranged weapons available, so you should wield one of those and ignore melee. Take an unarmored ability.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/47452111/#47454131
In the Cypher System Rulebook, there are 10 enemies that can damage Speed or Intellect, 2 enemies that can damage Speed or Intellect only sometimes, and 56 who can damage only Might.

https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/47452111/#47454344
In the Strange core rulebook, there are 4 enemies that can deal damage to Speed or Intellect, and 42 that can deal damage only to Might.

Therefore, the one damage type you really need to worry about most often is Might damage. Therefore, it helps greatly to conserve Might, by attacking with something other than Might.

3. In various cases, "magic" accomplishes tasks far more competently and cheaply than mundane methods ever could. Here is a good example: https://boards.fireden.net/tg/thread/46672143/
Far Step is worth a single talent. Being trained in "running" and "jumping" is also worth a single talent, and it is several orders of magnitude worse than Far Step.

I’m playing a really light game with some people new to the hobby, so the DM is playing with kiddie gloves to start them off. I didn’t want the new players to default to letting me lead, so I’m playing a Kenku hoodrat thug turned adventurer. Kenkus can’t make original sentences, so it’s perfect. However, after the first session, we decided that it would be easiest if I just had a list of sentences I could draw on, because apparently just shouting CAW with different inflections gets a little grating.

The DM and I decided to give him 15 useful phrases that I can pull out like a flashcard. I decided on 10 of them, but I still have a couple of free ones. Any ideas?

TL;DR: What should my Kenku be able to say that would be useful?
