Why are healers, and the people who play them, always so smug?
>>54139247
Why not?
>>54139247
Because without us playing tard wrangler, the others die.
>always
Most of the time they're meek sluts who want big tough fighters to show them who's really in charge.
The 7th, or 4th if you ignore the last 14 years, edition is a thing. As expected, /tg/ doesn't seem to care. But neither does anyone else apart from the odd fanatic squaking in a dusty corner.
So, how about a RQ/Glorantha-thread?
Will /tg/ finally start using the d20 for its intended purpose - rolling hit locations? Are ducks really worse than bipedal, thumbless tapirs? Will the metaplot kill Glorantha? Is the d100 the best die ever? Will the edition war consume the world?
>>54133733
I always kind of liked the skill-based approach of RuneQuest, though the crunch level was a bit too high for my comfort. I couldn't tell you the difference between the editions though, aside from Glorantha popping in and out of existence.
>>54133733
If I didn't play and enjoy King of the Dragon Pass, I wouldn't even know Runequest exists.
>>54134053
It was one of the first big skill-based system on the market, so much like Traveller, it's got history. These days though, its system (albeit a streamlined form of it) is probably much better known from Call of Cthulhu.
"I used a new picture, fags" Edition
For all your questions on Dark Heresy (1st and 2nd Editions), Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Black Crusade, and Only War.
Not the wargame, not Chapter Master, not Space Hulk. Inquisitor is okay, but not many people know about it.
Not sure between starting Dark Heresy 1e and 2e? Pick 2e.
>Why did FFG lose the 40k RPG License?
Because they were bought by Asmodee and that caused some sort of licensing conflict.
>Will GW make their own 40k RPGs now?
Probably not. But if they do it will likely be worse than you could possibly imagine.

What is the hardest enemy you've ever fought? What did the GM do to make it more than just a normal enemy of its type?
Has anyone thought about running a game during the Indomitus Crusade? It seems interesting to have the imperium at a low point trying to retake territory rather than trying to keep what they have.
As for OP. Hardest had to be a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch in Deathwatch.

A DM friend who resides in /pol/ is arguing with me over whether or not Elves should grow normally, then become ages or spend 40ish years as babies. We got to the argument of what a 40-year-old baby with a brain of an infant, but with 40 years of experiences would be like. We wanted to get /tg/ opinions
>>54097090
Elves physically mature at the same rate as humans, but live longer
>>54097090
>>54097112
It is outright stated that elves mature more quickly, physically, than humans (half-elves outstripping their elf-elves friends, ex), at least in shit like D&D. Tolkein elves have their own rules.
Elves age more slowly, so a 40 year old elf is going to physically be more like... a 6 year old.
Elves LEARN at the same rate as humans, so by our terms they would be a super intelligent 6 year old, but only with a 6 year olds capacity for reason, ie childrens brains aren't physically developed fully and there is some shit they just can't understand, like death.
FULL HEADCANON EXTRAPOLATION MODE
The reason elves aren't complete mental giants that outstrip humans when they're adults is because they have the same 'capacity' for knowledge and memory that we do despite their advanced age. A human being can probably hold ~ 100 years of rough memory (though increasingly abstract as studies have shown). Elves consider themselves to reach adulthood a decade or two after their first century. Coincidence?
Elven aging is a century of aging and experience cultivation followed by a period of self selection and soul searching where they consciously and subconsciously choose what experiences to remember and solidify who they are as a person. This also explains why elves of ~120 experience what the elves call wanderlust, a thirst for new experiences. They're looking to fill all that space they just defragmented.
>>54097090
>We wanted to get /tg/ opinions
You're both retarded and DEPENDING ON THE SETTING you almost assuredly have setting info that tells you about the gestation and maturation of elves.

What kind of accent should a drow have?
>>54170373
Austrian.
>>54170373
I told my players that their accent sounded "like a halfway cross between Gaelic and Hindi."
>>54170373
Look at their names. Their way of speaking must be in line with it. Is there an accent that suits these kinds of names, or maybe do these fantastical creatures have an accent that is beyond human?
Have you ever harmed a small animal during a campaign?
>>54168910
every time my party rests my character goes around and hurts small forest animals. My character would also hurt big forest animals if she could, but everything bigger than a squirrel can probably kill her.
I play a Harpy and its fun for her

Oh I was thinking more like puppies and kittens.
The only thing my chaotic neutral Deadpool-based character WON'T murderize is a small puppy. Puppies are CUTE! ^_^

>>54168903
How do you mean?
ITT: looking for creative concepts & powerful art for a roleplaying game.
Here's some of the vibe of what I'm looking for.
Enchanted artifacts.
Deep science.
Ancient haunted ghost ships.
Cybernetic
Time Portal Hotel: "Lose track of time exploring all of it"
NeuroMesh Suit: gives the ability to digest materials into the skin of the suit and convert them into excited states of energy.
Library of Legends: Summons legendary characters from books.
>>54167696
>ghost pirate magic cyber-peg legs
I'm not sure I understand
>>54167720
I'm looking for creative concepts for a world I want to build. A diverse world.
For example. If pic-related was in my world and if it was special. It'd probably be some ritual-like bath church. And gods could be spoken to there. Water sorcerers could be blessed there.
It's a unique concept that has a cultural texture to it.
>>54167775
Okay, but what the hell is Deep Science?
What are the main differences between 3.5 and 5E?
Which would you recommend for a new group and why?
I'm going to be DMing for some new players and I'm leaning towards 3.5 simply due to the amount of material published for it.
Is there any benefit to using 5E?
Play 5e. The system actually works as advertised and offers you good, interesting and (mostly) balanced options rather than setting you loose in 3.5's minefield of garbage and superweapons.
>>54167491
>What are the main differences between 3.5 and 5E?
5E has less options but it's less of a mess.
>Which would you recommend for a new group and why?
5E. It's not my favorite system but it's a lot harder to completely wreck a game based on a good/bad build even completely by accident. And I don't mean "Oh no, the wizard/cleric/druid is better than me" I mean "Shit, I don't know how to plan an encounter where the wizard doesn't get one shot and/or the fighter isn't bored and boned"
>Is there any benefit to using 5E?
Yes. it isn't written like garbage.
>>54167491
>
5E is simpler and easier to understand and does not suffer from the many mechanical problems in 3.5E.
Have you ever played a campaign that was so bad it was good?
I'd post mine in length, but I've already posted them on old threads.
>VtR game where due to ludicrous XP gain, we had a personal army by session 2
>nWoD game where we all prepared characters for a journey to the afterlife but instead fought alien chickens
>>54166550
I ran a one shot that basically became time warp. Players consisted of anime fighting man, stevie wonder, and NotDonald Trump. Stevie wonder was dual wielding revolvers with acog sights, NotTrump had a chunk of Rebar tied onto a long rope and anime guy could jump really high and had a mingun.
Campaign started in Detroit, battling gangs and aliens and ended on D-day against a militant group of zoo animals. For every new encounter the players would each give a random suggestion and I'd roll to see which it was.
Stupid? Yes.
Fun? Hell yes.
>>54166721
>Stevie wonder was dual wielding revolvers with acog sights
but why would stevie wonder need sights
Yes, it was one of our most successful and fun campaigns. We've been playing together for about six years now, and I can confidently say that most of our games been either bland and uninspired garbage or "mysterious" where we don't get an answer to anything because the GM couldn't be arsed to make something up. At least when one of the two "bland" GMs (me being the other) fucks something up, we get to have fun by cracking jokes at his exense.
Did he really do anything wrong?
>>54166291
I don't know or care who he is.
So...yeah, someone did something wrong at some point. Someone go kid marketing in the nads about that.
