My go to explanation for what happen to the Primarchs' is that they were displaced temporally rather than spatially, one sent back to the Dark age of Tech and gave Big E the idea for the Primarchs in the first place. The other was sent forward to after the fall of Cadia, and several chapters with unknown Primarchs, and a few who are on paper Ultra descended, have found kinship with the child that they sense is their long displaced Primarch.

Here's an idea.

What if the primarch landed on a hostile world and was tortured to death, and when the emperor found him he was just a corpse?

This would lead to a legion who stayed completely Terran and had no primarch/planetary influence, with only the experiences of their Astartes to influence them.

I'd imagine the resulting legion would be grey (vanilla/original colour) with helmet stripes for identifying squad, rank and specialty. There'd be no bling or culturally influenced upgrade kits, just Astartes being Astartes.

I wouldn't even give them a name - their designation would just be The 11th Legion.

Without the sweet primarch DNA sauce they probably all died of attrition and were wiped from imperial history for morale purposes - Primarchs dying was unprecedented at that point.

In theory, yes, but as the setting is it's practically impossible, due to the constant threats the world keeps on throwing at them - the Dark Elves, Chaos invasions, Orcs and Goblins, Skaven - they can barely hold their own, let alone rise. With some serious help they could manage it, but that help's not likely to be coming.

Dwarves especially seem despondent about the state of things, since they have lost so much of their ancient empire and knowledge. Elves might feel the same way, but either they aren't admitting it due to pride, or it doesn't affect them as harshly since they've still kept control of their homeland without much loss.

Anybody try Zweihander yet? I'm not at home so haven't downloaded the PDF of the free version yet but it looks neat as a "totally not an unlicensed WFRP 4e with all the copyright infringement scrubbed off."

How do I make an Alternate Form template which represents my character turning into a weapon to be used another PC. I'll roll for any supernatural attacks made by my character while in said form and the other player makes the normal weapon attack & damage rolls.

Depends on which version you're running. If it's the Pathfinder one, then sure, a properly optimized group can steamroll through it. It's harder to powergame Swords and Wizardry though, because it's based in the OSR.

Because there are systems where you will substitute Charisma in place of Strength in Intimidate rolls if anything.

Rampant Darwinism that spirals down into Bloodborne's Beasts.

Something like a Capitalist Cyberpunk setting where people go to extremes over time. Someone gets a pheromone mod to make people agreeable to their pitches, people get claws to defend themselves, better stomachs to deal with their bad food but it inevitably fails downward.

So at the top you get ravenous, master manipulates basically bred to convince you to walk to your doom, while the lower classes start resembling things out of Dead Space.


Also, horrific maintenance. I honestly believe that a lot of authors never had a job or spent any time with any equipment, because people forget how faulty our bodies and gear can really be.

Meanwhile in Germany:
In the "Bornland" a fantasy-Russia within Aventuria, elections were held (only the nobles got to vote; it's not a democracy, stupid) and players could determine the outcome per web-survey. The results will be published by 2017-07-27.

It's like you said, it's near impossible to use it with another setting. The world has a lot of variation (as in "flying moneys with lasers") if you leave aventuria, but that's about it. Though I do have a (currently domant) campaign where we use homebrewed mods to play scifi set in the same universe.

Both time my ranger shot at a mounted enemy leader. Once he knocked a hobgoblin off his warg while it was running away at damn near his bow's max range. It lead to my dirty Frenchmen ranger dancing and singing about himself.

After he united the Empire, beat back the Incursion, did some (if not most) of the shit he was known for in cannon, he received a phrophetic dream. Sigmar dragged his ass up and show him the effing Endtime shenanigans, and tell him that the Empire can not survive on its own. The Dwarfs wouldn't be enough. Kislev wouldn't be enough. The Elves... have their own shitfest going on.
