Would you let a PC that is also a blacksmith forge a +3 magic weapon?
>Players:
Have you ever seen a PC successfully forge a magic weapon?
Hard mode- it has to be at least 75% Warlock levels, literally everything I can think of is just Warlock 3/something else X.
What are some good riddles and puzzles for a vampire's keep?

FUCK I forgot to copy the entire post
What are some Warlock meme builds?

How likely are gay kobolds in your campaign?
>>54193704
>one of the PCs keeps begging me to let him play a kobold
>when I background checked him he has an FA account with a bunch of comm'd kobold porn
How do I troll this fucker into never playing tabletop again? ps: roll20
>>54193895
Well I wouldn't go that far, fucker just wants to get his gay kobold rocks off, but first thing that comes to mind is.

First for the Drukhari!
who is going to get new models with their codices?
gw said some will soon
>>54193178
WHO'S LINE IS IT ANYWAY WHERE THE NAMES ARE MADE UP AND THE FLUFF DON'T MATTER
I mean, try this scenario:
>Dastard Mcdastardson suddenly has an epiphany
>Dastard Mcdastardson has a lifetime of hardcore evul
>Dastard Mcdastardson decides to do all he can to redeem himself
Question is, how you do it without whitewashing his past, making who should be his foes overly accepting of him, and overall turning him into what is called, a Dindu.
The example of Illidan Stormrage is an example of what's to be avoided.
>>54193124
Stick with the classics.
>If you hold her accountable, she can't be redeemed.
>If you don't hold her accountable, she doesn't need to be redeemed.
>Largely only killed people who threatened her once she was deinfested.
>Also infested a lot of people when she turned Zerg again.
>Ultimately sacrificed nothing and saved the world for its own sake, not to prove a point.
>Gets happy ending with best husbando.
The best way to do a redemption story is to not redeem the character and just let bygones be bygones.

Obscure setting you love but only you know about and why you love them thread?
I'll start with Blue Planet
>Tropical hard sf
>Very 90's V A P O R W A V E look and feel
>Lethal as fuck combat
>Setting where you can have like urban noir adventures that start out in the Warf of Kingston and over time transition into a Far Cry/Heart of Darkness style trek into the wilderness
>Varied amount of roles to play
>I dig the hard Science fiction setting that isn't screaming unrealistic transhuman gobbleygook at you
It's the perfect setting to make a campaign for like a Thriller movie. Any of you guys got loves like that?
>>54192930
Blue Planet is nice, hard scifi with a neat setting. Good choice.
Warhammer 40k.
Nobody seems to know what it is when I go to my local game stores and I never see anyone talk about it on here, but I love the aesthetic of one of the factions in it.
The imperium of Man is kind of like if the Papacy was a stellar empire. They've got some really cool units too.
>>54192930
Is it really vaporwave? It seems more to be seapunk or oceangrunge to me.
Excuse me Commissar, but why don't we just use significantly more tactical nuclear weapons on everything?
>>54192873
Because they're too destructive for practical tactical use, and we have better strategic weapons than fissioning heavy elements, Zathras.
>>54192873
Do you want to affix bayonets in a nuclear wasteland?
Alternatively
>If we wanted an uninhabitable wasteland we'd exterminatus instead of ferrying you dimwits
>>54192873
Hold your hand up to that wall, guardsman.
I was playing the video game Vermintide with friends, and I thought about how cool a setting the game takes place in. I dont mean the Warhammer setting (although Im not saying that its not cool) but the idea that the players are in a huge capital city that is decaying near the end of the world and the city has been overrun with some kind of evil creature like rat men or orcs or what have you. They have a sort of home base in the inn or in one of the districts and everything else is overrun with survivors huddled around. Instead of dungeons you crawl through monster infested houses and sewers, or plunder the mansions of a corrupt and decadent elite that have secluded themselves from the disaster and have embraced dark powers/killed themselves/abandoned the city. It would be a great sandbox environment to just explore the city, gather treasure, and take back sections and maybe even entire districts from the evil chaos.
So established that it sounds cool, what are some good city supplements that I could use for something like this? Particularly stuff that has good maps and factions. My idea is to sort of steal or frankenstein some city stuff together, read it and get a good understanding of the city, and then make the city fall to an apocalypse.
>>54192577
Why not wholly homebrew the city? You know what you want, you have inspiration, you know the system you want to run it in, and you've got some anons willing to give feedback and advice when you need it.
>>54192577
This is basically just real life Detroit so you can use that if you want.
>>54192732
I want to run a system where my players all have weak peasant like PCs at the start.
Every game I find is built around people that can already easily take on wolves and monsters and stuff and do a bunch of stuff.
I want them to grow in strength slowly and consistently with each adventure, but not start out special.
What is a good system for this?
>>54191930
Song of Swords.
>>54191930
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay
>>54191930
Dungeon Craw Classics actually has the players make a bunch of characters at level 0, before putting through an introductory adventure called "the funnel" in which the vast majority of them are wiped out, and any that remain are your candidates for starting out as a shitty level 1 adventurer
Why is 80s fantasy art so completely superior to modern fantasy art?
>>54191711
Effort.
And because photoshop and digital programs had not reached their current level of sophistication.
And because Tumblr and deviant art wasn't a thing yet.
something about the shapes they use imo, nowadays art students are taught to exaggerate poses to extremes, and in some cases make it look worse than if they did something realistically. Only trouble with 80's art is it was fairly bland, which is fine, but nowadays expression has to be a part of armor...
>>54191711
I'm going out a limb here but I don't think Diablo 2 was released in the 80s.
Hey guys, can we have a thread about building a cube out of Magic cards?
I'm trying to make one out of a bunch of nonsense cards and draft chaff rares I'm not doing anything with, but I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out what archetypes everything's going to be. For example, I've got about a million cards in white, red, AND green that all support token strategies, but I'm worried that having a "token" archetype next to, say, a "sacrifice" one would just make both of those color pairs broken. I'm working on it.
How about you guys? Have you guys put together, designed, or even just proxied any Magic cubes? Let's talk about it.
>>54191245
I'm really tempted to proxy the vintage cube from MtG:O. Anyone ever play it? Any fun?
>>54191512
I've played it on MTGO, it's a lot of fun. There's really nothing like playing with the super high powered cards, drafting p9, jace, natural order, etc., all in the same cube. I usually do a few every year. There are obvious archetypes that get drafted, though, so it's not like it's a competely different ride every time. Storm is often there, white weenie is usually pretty good, mono red can be good, green ramp decks, and blue/white good stuff decks. I always make sure to play a few every time they have it up - especially comfy in the winter. It's probably even better in person when you all see what each other ended up with rather than the playing in the league format.
>>54191245
Build a Wizard's Tower instead
How long is the wait time for these guys to reform? They seem like they can just keep going unless they see the light, and most of them are probably too far gone for that.
As long as is needed for it to be dramatically convenient. There's no set amount of time, deliberately.
>>54191210
I love that they allow for more open options by leaving things like this open.
So what do you do with a party who has no real intention of redeeming one of these guys? It'd seem shitty to make them do it if they find him too far gone.
>>54191526
The standard practice is, if you can't kill it, imprison it.

What's the stupidest, most avoidable way you've ever witnessed a character die?
I wouldn't call it the stupidest, since it did result in a really cool scene, but one of my players decided to go after a big bad by himself while everyone else was unable to get to them, and attack the guy with a spell he would be resistant to. Still not a good idea, but it was what his character would have done. Choosing to use a spell that would do less damage to the guy though was not the brightest thing to do.
>>54191090
>it was what his character would have done
>hurrdurr imma retard but in character so its all ok
This is the logic right here. Don't be like this and don't let your players be like this either.
>>54191147
>if everything you do isn't optimized you're ruining the game

>For you gamers out there, one very exciting addition are new rules representing specific sub-groups in many of the major factions; these range from old classics like the Space Marine Chapters or Chaos Space Marine Legions to returning rules for individual craftworlds, as well as previously unexplored groupings like Necron dynasties and Adeptus Mechanicus forge worlds. These will be included in each codex.
So Eldar Craftworlds, Necron Dynasties, Forgeworlds, and more sub factions will actually get different rules, but how much differences will there be between Ork Klanz for instance? Does this discourage custom Klanz/Dynasties/Chapters /tg/?
>>54189263
Think all orks fall under one of the klans, just the "your doods" will be further down the line if your Bad Moons are green or whatever.
Counts as etc. Custom armies basically just get to pick whatever suits them best, so hardly discouraging.
>>54189263
I imagine we'll see the typical klanz and craftworlds that has their own rules in the past. Done in something like chapter trait style with a set of rules/unit limitations. I hope there's a "none of the above" option where you just use the list given with no rules.
>>54189329
>None of the above option
Probably. I suspect it'll hang off the Keyword you choose to make your army.
So I could pick 'Aeldari' and go with whatever, or I could pick 'Saim-Hann' and have a more restricted list, but get some bonuses, like maybe having Windriders as troops.
I expect it'll work like that, anyway
DMs, do you offer mercy to the party if you notice they are getting screwed up by RNG and may be wiped out?
I do, but sparingly. If the decisions they're making are sound ones, and the dice are just not helping them, I might lighten a blow here or there. Not enough to win them the fight right away, but enough to give them more time to think or come up with a potential escape plan.
No I let the dice roll where they lie. I think if you don't respect the game and it's rules then there's not much point in playing. Or more specifically if you don't want to play a game where I your characters can die in combat if they get unlucky then run something where that can't happen or house rule in something like fate points. But never fudge it.

This.
