So now that chadmarines are around, what's gonna happen to the Legion of the Damned, sculpt-wise?

Are they gonna keep the models around?
Are they gonna re-do them and make them bighuge too? I guess they could justify it with the old 1st edition lore (they're infected by a warp curse that's kind of like Nurgle's rot so it makes them super-tough and crazy and eventually kills them) but I hope they don't do anything dumb like give them mkX armor.

I don't think there's any fluff way they could get Primaris Marines to the Legion.

And I hope they won't: the Legion will look even more badass when they're the only short ones around.
>>

Fire Hawks geneseed seems cursed to get them fucked over. Around the same time their Star Fortress got sucked into the warp, the only member they had seconded in the Deathwatch was called into the Omega Vault. As soon as he entered, the doors slammed shut, and there has been no sign of that missing marine in any of the following openings.

Could be that Cawl didn't know their true origins, and made a whole Chapter's worth of Fire Hawks from geneseed stocks. He is implied to have been tampering with geneseed he really shouldn't. Shortly after their entrance onto the Galactic scene, they disappear into the Warp, and are soon found among the ranks of the Legion of the Damned.

The new sculpt would just be larger, more deathwatch sized, and wouldn't really stand out. The primaris founding will be forgotten come next edition anyway as every chapter will be 99% primaris, so rescaling existing kits without reason isn't out of bounds.

So I'm running a D&D5e campaign. Got a solid BBEG built up as an ancient and horrible lich. Players have recently begun to recruit a massive army to fight back against the undead. I plan to have said lich murder the families of the army's generals once they're established.

Pic related, if someone could edit this so it says army instead of couch, I would owe them a great debt and it would give me a hilarious way to fuck with my players a bit.

Post this on /wsr/ or something.

Also, you seem like you're 12 and your story sounds really generic.

There's more detail to it than that, just didn't feel a need to write out the story of my entire campaign that's been running for almost a year now.

Thank you for the advice on where else to post.

It was an attempt by Talsorian to unify all their rule systems (Interlock, Mekton, Castle Falk) into one. By the time it came out in the late 1990s most of Talsorian's lines were dying anyway, and it never took off. Few people use it nowadays.
>>
>>54048609
Basic system is okay.
If you want to make your own vehicles, weapons or mecha instead of using the "plug-in" supplements, you need to make them in Mekton Z, then port them over to Fuzion.
If you want to make super powers, psionic abilities or magic with more details than is available in thier plug-ins, then you have to make them in Hero System 4th edition then port them over to Fuzion. Or you can use the print version of the rules (as opposed to the free pdf version) but their version of powers/psi/magic is kinda meh compared to Hero System.
That said, you could probably save yourself a lot of hassle and just play Hero System, which is currenlty up to its 6th Edition (6.1 or something with "Champions Complete").

>It mirrors the story of the goddess Sati, a consort of Shiva
Can I slightly sperg out? Some people really think that this may be the origin of this custom, but in the particular story her husband Shiva wasn't dead, she was never a widow. Sati burned herself out of protest, because her father wouldn't invite the unwashed ascetic Shiva to an imprtant festival.

Are there any settings with interesting mechanics/fluff for wands and staves?

I'm thinking about making a setting where they're massed produced and available to the common folk, and I'm looking for some inspiration.

Anyone can pick up an use a basic wand. Wands can do anything, they can literally create matter and energy, rewrite reality... but it depends entirely on imagination, will, magic energy, and training of the user.

Everyone has magic power inside of them, but without a focusing wand the power cannot be controlled. By simply taking a wand and focusing it, you can will things to change or magic to happen. But it takes a lot of power, imagination, and will for this to work, so most people picking up a wand can only make very temporary changes happen, or objects to move a fraction of an inch. More powerful users can move large objects, give life to the lifeless, and make permanent and drastic changes to objects or beings.

Wands are made of wood but are not just wooden sticks. They must be cut from a living tree that has a strong bond with its human gardener. It must be shaped with a special metal blade that has never drawn blood. There are a million more superstitions and rules that come from making wands from wand makers, and many of these are believed to be based either on the artificial magical 'humors' the wand posses and/or the pact of magic given to humans by the god of magic.

Young children are often given wands by their parents as playthings and with their imagination and youthful vigor they tend to be pretty decent at minor cantrips and playful illusions, despite being crude and lacking form. When they get older their innate talent starts to fade unless they were very gifted or went to further training. Most adults can still pick up a wand and move around a coin or change the color of a candleflame for a few seconds but it's very minor and draining to them mentally, they leave it to the Wizards.

This isn't from any setting, just what I think of what using all purpose wand-based magic might be like. Not the wands you're looking for with spells 'stored' in wands for later use.

Your variety works too. Anything that makes them usable for regular people is a step in the right direction.

My wand idea fits better for a novel then a game though, I don't know how you'd do that kind of freeform magic in a game.

We're always low on pieces that have traitor marines as protagonists, especially good ones. The closest we get are renegades here and there and occasional bolters blazing and chainblade rending, it's just not as... good.

1) At a con once.

2) Decent, possibly good.

3) Hard to say, but I'll go on a leg and say no. Building settings is something pretty simple anyway, no dedicated systems are generally necessary. At most something like Perilous Locations for Dungeon World.

Unrelated to Microscope, but I'm bored as a doornail at work and just made this

No detailed fluff planned out, but the reds and greens are going to be adversaries and the blue will be neutral
The scribbly thing in the middle is an asteroid field, the colored shaped indicate strong military presence and the collection of black dots is an assembly of semi-artificial satellites that concentrate factories, trading posts and shipyards
I was thinking of having the greens be a breakaway faction from the reds, the reds being a militaristic empire on the decline trying to reclaim its colonies and the blue being a (possibly alien) faction of vastly technologically superior merchants, trading with both factions and profiting from the war (notably, they control the only stable corridor through the asteroid field)
Rate my sector, give advice or berate me for shitting out yet another a bog standard sci-fi setting
>>
Yes, It's good. Not exactly.

You could run a microscope game, and end up with the beginnings of a setting, but I think it'll be hit or miss (because depending on the players moods and phase of the moon, you might get very different stories -- "I wanted Game of Thrones and I got Discworld")

That said, I like to start a campaign with a couple of prologue sessions (using whatever system, an elevator pitch version of the setting).

Then you bust out microscope. Only allow scenes to be before the other game. Play a couple of games (one is enough though). You're creating the legends and stories in your setting (which have a nugget of truth). This gives you myths to build on, to reincorporate. It gives the players the sort of grounding (and agency) in the setting. They know things about your setting that they'd otherwise have to get from some ham-handed exposition.

Ok, to start off, I am only mostly doing this as a joke.
I recently found a website that lets you make custom pillows and stuff with pictures you upload to the site, and I thought "What better way to show my love of The Emperor?" But I need your help, The pictures must be of a certain size and I am having a devil of a time finding some that will work. If you guys could help I would be forever in your debt. Obviously the sillier the better, but I am also open to just cool pictures.

Link to the website here in case anyone else wants a Guardsman bodypillow.

How would you implement krakanrok the black in table top?

I'd borrow do it like 40k did huge units and give him stats reminiscent of a bio titan but with numbers that would make a mars pattern warlord look tiny.

I used to run 3 Icarus Array Dunecrawlers in 7e purely because I liked the fluff, look and feel of them, they dragged me down a bit when no aircraft were present but weren't completely useless. Now with the BS4+ against ground units and BS2+ against anything with a jetpack or wings I stick my Dominus next to them and laugh mightily at how much better they've gotten as general-purpose units.

Any good youtube channels that do game lore?
I prefer longer video.

I've seen a bunch that do 40k lore and they're pretty great, i don't mind if it's super indept, i'd actually prefer if it was.

Doesn't have to be 40k though, i'd listen to it aslong as the lore itself is good.

Don't like 1minlore and those sorts of channel, i prefer consuming lore in a slow phase and not having to click through a billion videos to get my fill.

Help me out here, /tg/.

I am writing up a GURPS modern fantasy setting. It is set on modern Earth (2010's), where magic became revealed to the public during the late sixties or early seventies. Now, we have access to Ritual Path Magic (for people who know GURPS), basically.

There are no dwarves, elves or any other sapient race other than humans in this setting - but there are magical animals. Proper enchantments (magic items) are very expensive, so people rely more on rituals (which are more temporary if not instantaneous). Magical tools to cast rituals (like foci, grimoires, places of power, human sacrifices, etc.) are in hot demand, driving some political and economic manoeuvring. Non-mages can buy charms and elixirs (disposable pre-cast rituals that have been infused into some consumable) on the magic market to effectively cast spells.

Point is, can anyone offer some ideas for adventure hooks or campaign starters? Try integrating local history, headline events, urban legends, and so on into some magical stuff.

>Individuals are waking up to find body parts missing the next morning, ranging from eyes to feet and hands. Perhaps they're being used in some kind of ritual.

Now, by magical animals, do you mean like talking cats, cryptids, or full blown dragons?
