I know a cute girl who'd probably sit on my face, but she has no interest in MTG ;_;

Has your character or the BBEG ever done anything gut-wrenchingly despicable but is almost quotidian in the setting in which you're playing?
>>55327429
My character mind raped bad guys into good people, but that was okay because the bad guys also did it.
>>55327429
I killed innocent people as the means to an end.
I started a massacre to cause a revolution.
I betrayed the law.
>>55327771
>I betrayed the law.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW
We are starting a new campaign set many years after the events of the last one.
The BBEG succeded and his plan of cultural domination on the continent through the comercialization of magic technology was a success.
What kind of changes can this bring to a medieval setting?
>>55327057
So you've done nothing to prepare?
>>55327160
he didn't actually play the campaign anon, the biggest fantasy isn't the magic and dragons its this board. Or some edgy shit like that
>>55327195
>he didn't actually play the campaign anon
This.
OP, you should have just started with "what could 200 years of forced industrialization at the hands of a lich do for a standard medieval fantasy setting".
Hey, I was thinking about it. Would it be good to have a DnD campaign where the start of action is a group of characters deciding to become spice merchants and thus the adventure is a journey across the fantasy Silk road to find the source of the cheapest spice.
>>55326867
It would be a good campaign. But it would not be good to have in D&D. D&D is primarily combat focused system. Traveling merchants would generally want to avoid combat if possible.
>>55326906
in retrospect, you may be right, but all sorts of menaces could be around the corner for the would-be spicemen. I was thinking long, dangerous journey with a mercantile goal.
>>55326867
>start of action is a group of characters deciding to become spice merchants
RAILROAD
make world with huge effective spice route and make it the only really good way to make money in an otherwise impoverished country. Have spice be a quieter reward they then have to sell. Have lots of opportunities for caravan guards, retrieving stolen shipments etc. Keep them impoverished in gold but in barrels of spice, which is no good as currency because every merchant already had spice but swords, swords are rare trade goods 4x as expensive etc.
> because most ppl just shout railroad without giving better idea
Could the essence of the Truenamer class be saved in the form of one that's more mechanically... functional? Less pure shit?
>>55326273
Yes.
Removing the DC increase for using the same utterance repeatedly would be what jumps to mind immediately.
>>55326273
Lots of systems use skill based magic.
>>55326273
The fluff was great. You could fluff literally ~any~ wizard as using the power of True Names. particularly since wizards are expected to spend many years digging through dusty tomes in obscure libraries.
After all, where would you learn the True Name of a demon who can shoot fireballs but from decades of searching?
How do you deal with captured players or NPCs in your setting?
>>55326203
No Shibari for starts.
>>55326203
I don't because kidnap is one of my player's fetishes and would make things at the table weird
>>55326224
I get that fetish-grade ropework is kind of unnecessary, but quality rope work is still a good idea and the two aren't that different. If you look at how someone is effectively bound using an efficient amount of rope it's not terribly different.
im making the gith the first major antagonist in my game. i wanna have them conduct experiments on other humanoids to give them mutations or psychic powers just like how they came about.
if a player gets captured i wanna have them put him through a experiment instead of killing the player. are their any tables for cool mutations or random powers?
>>55325913
That seems like an odd thing for the Githyanki to do, why not use Illithids instead for the mad science, and pull the Githyanki in that way?
>>55327280
that makes more sense actually
>>55327709
Yeah, I wouldn't have thot Gith were science-minded enough.
Does /tg/ play contract bridge? Any good stories or tips?
>>55325059

Only Hornblower fanboys play whist now.

Could you help me decipher the rules of this game. Apparently it's some kind of prototype.
The goal of the game is to occupy the home row of the opponent and to capture other pieces.
How would movement work in this game and how would capturing work?
Only other image I have of it
Anyone?
>>55324628
>>55325095
>>55324783
What do you want?
Sure. Let's make up some rules. Pieces are placed down in alternating turns on your half the board. you move them to the other side to make an interlocking wall. You can't move into your opponents blocks. You move one square at a time.
Done. That's a viable workable ruleset for the game board as seen.
Is it fun? No.
We're not your personal fucking dev team.
I have studied this "rune of loss" for days, /tg/, and I still don't understand why it's a meme. How does this image connect to the Loss meme?
>>55324383
look at loss, imagine each character is replaced by a horizontal or vertical line depending on which relates to their position
>>55324383
Amount of characters on any given panel is the same.
>your shield moans when hit
>>55323618
Spooky moan or sexy moan? This is important to the premise.
>My shieldmaiden moans when hit
>>55323618
M-moans how?
Rate my card game m8s.
How can I improve it?
>>55323573
Be a bit more clear and explicit about the rules.
I'm certain the player who does not go first does also get some cards at some point, but when and how much and other stuff is not explained.
And I think you probably draw a card each round. But I also could see the game being played with only the initial cards, maybe. So which is it?
>>55324312
Right, so like just clarifying things like:
>at the end of their turn players draw 1 card
>played number cards and dethroned face cards are discarded
?
Do you think I should add an option for playing no cards during your turn?
Should I make a hard hand size limit like players draw at the end of their turn until they have 5 cards?
>>55324645
Mostly, yeah.
>Should I make a hard hand size limit like players draw at the end of their turn until they have 5 cards?
Yeah. Most games seem to do limit + discard what's over limit. I like limit + don't draw into oversize.
Can't give much advice beyond that, since I have no experience in designing and balancing shit.
Do kings have "detectives"?
>>55322790
We call those 'spies'
>>55322790
They typically just have both the accuser and accused and any witnesses brought before them and make judgements based on the testimonies.
Maybe the local guardsmen would do some investigations if the claims are vague or contradictory.
>>55322790
Of course, they are called secret police.

SPACE MERMAIDS ARE COMING IN THE ALIEN ARCHIVE.
>>55322652
the kalo look more like trilarians than mermaids. alot of the races in this game seem lifted from master of orion 3. not that that is a bad thing, not at all. moo3 had some of the best alien races ever.
