Have any of you had experience with your party working together to pilot/sail/drive/control a vehicle of some kind? Be it mech, ship, tank, whatever, I'm curious to hear how it functioned and your thoughts on it.
My players just got a 12-crew boat and I want to ensure that everyone has something to do and can directly contribute to the vessel, but I'm not sure how.

First, the only tactically interesting job is pilot. Everyone else's job is "roll to not fuck up". Gunner? Roll to hit or miss AKA fuck up. Engineer? The job varies from game to game but whether he's reinforcing shields, overclocking engines, or repairing damage, it's rolling to not fuck up. Etc etc. Even the Captain in most systems.
The other problem is roll isolation. AKA the Shadowrun problem. Everybody takes his turn doing his thing in his role on the ship, then goes off and waits while everyone else does their thing in their own worlds.
What is in your opinion the worst thing about D&D 5e (please only post things that are intrinsic to this edition of the game and not the game itself)?

Don't get me wrong, I DM'ed Mines of Phandelver as it was excellent, used "theather-of-the-mind" in one dungeon, minis and squares in another, zones (each room, cutout as a puzzle piece) in the other, as it was great.
But the rule system is bland. It looks like WotC feared the same backlash they had with 4e, so they returned to 3.x, added successful 4e mechanics to it (encounter disguised as short rest, hit dice), obfuscated the cogs that made the system work and kept into the safe space of the know.
It lacks the "humpf" of trying, of innovating. If someone released it on /tg/ as 3.75 or "what PF could have been", no one would bat an eye.
What is a shame. As I recall, the playtest Fighter and Sorcerer were awesome.

Low bonuses compared to the dice range. Bound accuracy isn't a bad idea, but it doesn't work in execution, especially when also applied to skills.
Advantage is not a bad mechanic, but it doesn't scale at all (and exacerbates the issue with dice randomness+small modifiers). I massively prefer SotDL's boon/bane system.

Not going to deny that what you describe is how a lot of games end up, to varying degrees. But so what? Sometimes that's all a player and DM want to do - and they'll have fun with it.
Players who want to lean more heavily into character development and improv acting can keep trying different groups until they find one that can cater to their tastes.

Contact our resident Transmutation Wizard and politely ask him to clean a pdf. He will set his scrying device to accept pdfs and then you ship it to him. Magic occurs, then the pdf is purified.

This would not be a document for sharing, only to check links.

Would it work?
For the uninformed, the manga/show is about a gigantic hole on a desolate island that is so deep that nobody ever reached the bottom yet, with all kinds of ancient artifacts hidden in it and primeval beasts dwelling below that has become a huge hub for adventurers to come to in search for riches.
A group of adventurers trying to climb down as far as they can would make for a pretty fun setting in my eyes. Could probably work really well as a 'hardcore' setting, too, where player death is rather common while always having an easy way to add new characters to the party.
Would ultimately probably just be a simple loot raid campaign, but I can still see the potential to have quite some fun with it.

Yes on the following conditions
>No forced child characters
>Make curse burden a legitimate obstacle to overcome.
>Make overcoming curse burdens the hardest part of character progression as you get to the 3rd layer and below
>Steal any artifact ideas you can from any setting, players are supposed to return them to the surface and purchase them legitimately otherwise they risk being disowned by the Organization (if they want to go that route let them though)

The other points are pretty much how I'd imagine things would work. The curse effects and resisting them would probably be the hardest part to implement, but I suppose they'd fall under general vitality/constitution saves or just be based on your character level. For D&D as the system, making a curse save using your Proficiency bonus would probably best represent it.

It costs 8 mana, and won't even win the game by itself. This has absolutely no use in standard. With zero way to cheat out enchantments in standard, you wouldn't even be able to get it out in any deck other than a ramp deck, and if you're ramping to 8 you might as well drop an eldrazi instead.
