Does crossplaying go against the human spirit?
>>54452717
No, but banning quest threads from /tg/ does.
>>54452717
No, mostly because humans have no spirit.
>>54452717
No but prohibition does.

I might as well start with a little pet project ive been working on for a bit now, its a set based on the RPG games ive been having for about a year or so now mainly as a gift to the GM.

Wording is important.

Raptors do it well enough that any improvement basically makes them seem too good. Even now their only real downside is they get progressively more and more depressed, like a way less useful version of the Black Rage.

Reasonable in what way? Tactics, numbers, organization, all three?
One chapter of reasonable Marines could be the Marines of Relevancy.
The Relevants are a chapter which values assassination above all.
Understanding that most Xenos require leadership to avoid being mindless or collapsing (Necrons, Tau, Orks, and Nids), the Relevants attempt to remove leaders via shock tactics and then melt back to allow the guard to clear the opponents.
Relevants eschew tanks of all kinds for this reason, using heavy numbers of drop pods and gunships to deliver force to a position instead. Drop pods full of devastators and dreadnoughts, along with assault terminators, descend on a vital enemy leader from orbit. They focus on slaying the warlord and then clearing a safe landing site for extraction gunships which had been holding aerial control during the operation.
As soon as is safely possible they withdraw to orbit to seek the next target.
The standard grouping of Relevants is one dreadnought drop pod, three devastator drop pods, a squad of assault terminators and 1-2 extraction gunships.

What common tropes in tabletop games go against the human spirit?
>>54452438
you
roll for will?
>>54452438
The tendency of enemies to always fight to the last man.
Seriously, it's like nameless henchmen never retreat or surrender, despite being the lowest paid and most unappreciated members of the villain's legion of doom.
Why is magocracy the best form of government?
>>54452299
Because you just turn the whiny peasants into frogs for daring to interrupt your research.
>>54452299
Because it is shaped like itself. Meritocracy presupposes a general agreement about the definition of merit in governance. If you have this then finding the most merited is indeed the only real problem.
Of course in reality there is no such agreement.
>>54452299
because it's the only logical outcome in a setting where part of the population can reshape reality with an effort of will.

Why do you do this?Has you're character ever lost someone dear to them?
>there are some trolls here who's entire goal is to make any discussion about D&D as mind-numblingly stupid as possible by doing nothing but complaining about it in the most pathetic ways possible, all in hopes of scaring people away from it
What is wrong with these idiots? Don't they have something better to do than lose a game of system politics?
Welcome to /tg/.
No one actually takes those cynics seriously, because 4chan by its very nature is contrarian and should never be taken seriously.
Nice try, shill.
Your game is shit. Play something better like GURPS.

How do you handle your 'small middle-America town' horror games /tg/?
>>54452105
Isolate the town.
don't show the antagonist until the climax, and even then maybe not.
Focus on story and building dread.
>>54452105
I don't, because the PCs would, realistically, be run out of town by a mob for being wierd and different even before they got to the 'dark secret'.
I've been to small-town middle america.

What kind of retard wants to be in middle america?

Old thread hit the bump limit.
Blue Rose is an RPG that sets out to emulate fantasy in the style of authors like Mercedes Lackey and Tamora Pierce. The old edition introduced the True20 system, a modified d20 based on Mutants & Masterminds. The new editions uses the AGE system from the Dragon Age RPG.Neither system seems like an especially good fit.
From the end of the last thread, what other systems are there that might fit Blue Rose's setting and genre better than ones it came with?Sorry if I did a bad job on this. Please forgive this newfag who has never started a general before.
Lamentations of the Flame Princess!Seriously, Raggi was interested in buying Blue Rose.
>>54452183
...that combination sounds horrible/hilarious.
>>54452183
I am somewhat confused. I'm not overly familiar with James Raggi or his work, though from what I've heard of it, it's not very Blue-Rose-y.
Im a pretty mew DM and just found out that my players absolutly love dungeon puzzles, kinda like the ones in windwaker, but I want to be a bit more original than "pull a lever in another room to open door" Any ideas?
>>54450915
The dungeon is the ruins of a city that partially sank into the earth. while many buildings were damaged the whole of the city generally remains intact although numerous paths and walk ways may lead to dead ends and bottomless pits.
The PCs will have to make use of their climbing gear and creative uses of ropes and hooks to make walkways for party members who are not as fit as they might be all the while dealing with creatures who are very well adapted to the their new home.
>>54450915
A big galleon or even a shipwreck with lots of ships (like a ship graveyard) where the water level changes along the day.
Or maybe a set of half sunken caverns with the same effect.
>>54450915
Let me try to think of something.

Did the leaker ever post higher res stuff?
Or did wizards kill him?
>>54450336
He's been dealt with, because our data shows leaks are bad for the game! Please forget that you ever saw it and try your luck tomorrow on our Standard Showdown™ event! You don't have a deck? Purchasing a few Amonkhet™ Booster Display Boxes should be enough. Oh, and remember don't ever try to show up on fridays, those days are for Casual players now. Have a nice day
>>54451167
Oh boy! I can't wait to be there! But how will I know what deck to build? If only there was some sort of resource that would tell me the most popular decks?
>>54450336
The leaker was wizards.
Me and my group are setting up for Starfinder next month, and we're all looking for some character art. Unfortunately, character art for sci-fi campaigns isn't nearly as abundant as for fantasy. Can I get some help with some character art?
Pic related, my character's gonna be a roguish space drifter, think along the lines of Spike Spiegel or Han Solo. Anything along those lines works well. All help is appreciated.
