Perhaps some remorhaz that he's beaten into submission, or the frost giant king has a frost giant runecaster and shaman backing him up. That, and he has class levels. That's a solid way to make him way stronger, is if he has weapon specialization and d10 instead of d8 HD. Magical backup is great as well. Perhaps lots of little ice trolls or ogres serving as foot soldiers and fodder?

Can't go wrong with Frost Giant mounted on giant woolly mammoth. It can not fly and has no breath weapon per say but maybe it is a magic mammoth with an ability similar cone of cold out the snout. It's still a big beast with lots of hit die and a trample attack of some kind. Frost Giant chieftain can still be tossing javelins of lightning from atop his mount. Maybe evil noble is also on a little platform on the back of the beast doing whatever he does to add spice to the encounter (healing, shooting a crossbow, just cursing the heroes in general or whatever)

Do you think making his domain almost like a court would be overpowered? I mean I could always have the party fight through waves or something like that and not all at once. The level range of the PCs are like 7-11 so they can handle most stuff I think.

Mammoth is actually an awesome idea and would work well in a large open area like I was planning. Also what about making the giant a recurring villain? The next leg was going to be set in an ancient dwarven ruin where a powerful magic forge supposedly resides. I was planning on having the giants seeking it out and perverting its power some how.

Wizard Conjurer (Specialist)
Unearthed Arcana Conjurer Variant - Enhanced Summoning (Ex) A conjurer using this variant does not gain bonus feats for advancing as a wizard.
The Master Alienist takes 5 levels in it's wizard class
At 1st level, a conjurer using this variant gains the Augmented Summoning feat for free instead of the Scribe Scroll feat.
At 5th level, the conjurer's summoned creatures become particularly tough to dispel. Add 2 to the DC of any caster level check made to dispel the conjurer's summoned creatures. At 15th level, this addition to the DC increases to 4.
Enters Alienist Prestige Class
For Metamagic secret, Alienst takes either
Coercive Spell (Drow of the Underdark, page 47): Spell deals a -2 penalty to Will saves for 3 rounds, non-cumulative. - Force use with Ravenloft Horror check tables or madness Check tables and other stuff, seeing as you're completely wrong looking
Extend Spell
Imbued Summoning (Player's Handbook II, page 92): Any creature created by conjuration (summoning) spells can have any spell you know of 3rd level or lower with a range of touch cast on it auto-magically.
Transdimensional Spell (Complete Arcane, page 84): Allows a spell to affect an incorporeal creature, creatures on the Ethereal Plane or Plane of Shadow, and creatures within an extradimensional space within the spell's area.
Irresistible Spell (Kingdoms of Kalamar Player's Guide, page 87): Remove all saving throws from your spell. Yes, you read that correctly. Fuck you Rogues and Evasion. This feat becomes Blue if playing with errata, which simply adds +10 to the DC of the spell. For a +4 adjustment, a bit steep. Useful with spells like Insanity
Alienist levels to 10 in the PrC and becomes an outsider, and is subjects to benefits her kind provides
Alienist is now Level (5) Conjurer and a Level (10) Alienist

You are gonna need to show so more evidence of what you are talking about.

From there, they'll hopefully follow up on the plot hook that the elf boy drops for them (the same elf boy who will be waiting to introduce himself by climbing in from the roof in case they can't free themselves).

I'd also totally be down to see what happens if they just decide to take this fort for themselves and fight off the rest of the bandit crew when they come to retake it.

Don't over-complicate things for yourself. Especially if you are a new DM. There's a lot of information there that can run the risk of distracting you from providing a narrative and adapting to player questions.

The Rubric saved every remaining Thousand Sons life. Without him they would have all died of the flesh change. Rubric Marnies can still be saved as has been shown so he just needs to find the knowledge in the Black Library.

Besides there are probably more Thousand Sons now then there were at the time of the Rubric. Except now they're all powerful sorcerers who only exist because Ahriman managed to go against the wishes of a god and his own Primarch to save his legion.
