If any of you rpg geeks left his basement and visited any kind of abandoned ruins in the area with a lot of greenery, he would understand that it's impossible to adventure there.
So where does this meme comes from and why does every rpg has to have some centuries old ruins which are perfectly clean and devoid of obstacles? Why, do skeletons there borrow broomsticks from the witches and clean up a bit?

I'm currently into medeivl history and it's politics, I want to run something fresh for my players without guns, elfs or dragons (and without magic, fuck that shit), so I was wondering are there any good systems out there that don't emply social combat and have a quick and tense melee action? Something that has a lot of skills in it. Please don't mention systems that have magic and are borring to play without it, I'm sick and tired of people giving me stuff like Song of Swords and Symbarum, just stop ._. .

Paladin of the party is sticking his nose in every sad hooker, every I-m-an-orphan kid and every lost(or perhaps not) puppy. I was thinking of his god (Helm) sending him a dream to stop fucking around and go do some 10d10 radiant damage to some demons. I was thinking of him recieving a prophetic dream.
How should I do it? Is this a bad idea? How should I make clear to the guy(IC) he was not given divine gifts to use to for resurrecting Little Timmys dead cat?

both have the same overall damage, but the d6 means a smaller damage range, so if you get screwed by bad rolls it won't be as bad. yes you have a lower max damage with the d6, but the tradeoff is worth it.

depends on what the target number is
without doing maths, 1-2 doesn't matter, 3-4 d6 is better, 8-9 d8 is better.
