Pauper thread?
There's a small local tournament being held here and I've never played competitively.
What deck should I play for the best chance to win? I have no idea what the metagame is around here, but I can build almost anything but Tron decks. Recommendations?
>>54650564
Haven't looked at Pauper in a while, but Delver and MBC used to be really good?
>>54650564
UR Delver is the currently best deck.
There is no real "best deck" in pauper, but UR Delver is the watermark. It posts roughly even EVs against most decks and is skill intensive.
Affinity, Tron, and Dimir also are good.
Has anyone here played this RPG? Was it any good?
>>54650557
wasn't this just BESM or something else?
It was Fuzion.
But you could always convert to BESM or OVA or GURPS.
>>54650557
It's alright even though it has some major flaws that need houseruling. Probably one of the most infamous is that in the game the hardsuits slow you down when making you faster and more agile is one of their most important features in the show.

>Have you ever used a Immortal in your games? (Purified, Blood bathers etc...)
We played a 1e Vampire game once. 5 players. Everyone ended up going one clan. Nobody actually realised it until the fourth-to-last session, but our terribly secretive 'mekhet dragon' was not a strangely built mekhet as we'd originally thought. Mechanically, we assumed he was using obfuscate and coils to avoid reading as a kindred. He was our recon specialist, but so incredibly shady about his comings and goings, even for Kindred, that we were following him to check for meetings with people like VII or local mages.
We discovered this was not the case, (VII or him being a Kindred) when he was staked in the heart. He died a very normal death, two turns later stood up and force fed the vampire who did it a fireball. Several very tense conversations later (Mostly revolving around topics like OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK and ARE YOU THE DEMONS and BELIAL'S BROOD, KILL IT!) we hashed out a rough understanding of what he was, that he'd just learned some dragon parlance earlier in his life. He liked Vampires because money and sexy thrills.
It was a shock OOC, because the smug fuck had kept it a secret from us there too. The chronicle went on mostly unchanged, but he didn't have to be so quiet about his comings and goings anymore.

Listen, I really appreciate the work you do, your dedication and your willingness to format things for PDF - but if I want to try and stick my dick in wrinkly unreality I will.
What's with the 'shadowrun is complicated' meme that I see going around here? I decided to give 5e a read after having played the HBS shadowrun games and I fucking love its mechanics, they're not complicated at all. If anything, the complicated part is keeping track of the gorillion items you can acquire, and that realistically would only show up when you're considering getting upgrades or new shit. The basic mechanics are very simple, and I love the casting rules it has. I wanna play this right fucking NOW.
Did I get memed, /tg/?
>>54650246
Have you looked at the decking rules?
Also, start looking for all the references to stuff that don't exist.
>>54650246
Try playing it.
>>54650257
Yeah I have. They're nothing special. Some values change, and you have to look at a different portion of the character sheet to pull your numbers, but that's about it.
So which of this systems haves a hard but relative fast combat(Rank from 1 to 5 in speed and hard(deadly)combat)?
Hackmaster 5e
Mythras classic fantasy
Rolemaster(and any of its sons)
any suggestions?
>>54650109
Hackmaster 5e
Speed 2
Hard 4.5
Haven't played the others.
>>54650109
Mythras is tough to get into because all your options are available to you right from the start. You need to know how everything works before you start playing. That's difficult and slow. Once you figure it out the game plays beautifully and I can resolve 20-combatant melees within an hour.
Combat's not particularly lethal. Death happens sometimes but usually you're rendered combat ineffective and ignored long before dying.
>>54650109
Hackmaster has some fairly complex combat that can be very very lethal. If you know what you're doing the system can move pretty quickly, but there are a lot of combat techniques you can use and managing it all is key to it being speedy.
I'd highly recommend it but I can't speak for the others so I won't give any ratings.
Think of a Space Marine chapter or warband. ok, got one? good. You now need describe a movie idea that involves them in some way
>Red Scorpions
The movie is the entire life of a space marine from the point of view of Carab Culln going from initiate scout, to vanguard vet, to captain, to chapter master, all the way to becoming a leviathan dreadnought
Spend over a decade filming it with the same cast and then we call it
>Space-Marinehood

Just adapt Kharn's Day Off into a movie.
>>54650255
Id honestly love to watch a Movie centered around Angron in the style of Planet Hulk going over his life on Nuceria and ending on a super anti climatic ending of him being beemed up to the Emperors ship.
that cock tease would be great
I'm about to wrap up the nth D&D campaign that I've gmed and I'm starting to get burnt out on the system.
What system should I play next?
I see threads on different systems but I don't really know where to begin.
I would like a more rules heavy system and one that strays from medieval fantasy.
>>54649891
Shadowrun.
>>54649891
What would you most like to improve on? Deadly combat? Player involvement? Edgelording?
>>54649891
You play any TSR D&D yet? Or just WotC "D&D"?

Paracritters edition. Have you ever played a sasquatch? Ever had pixies poisoners come for you in the night? What was the most interesting thing - wonderful or awful - to happen to your runners involving paracritters?
any of you guys had any real emotional moments in your campaign lately? my DM dropped some serious shit on us this week and it totally wrecked us, almost got a tear out of me. the shadowrun world is a pretty rough one but i don't hear a lot people talk about the heartwrenching bits around here.
>>54651202
What happened?
>>54651350
it's a long story, but basically one of our characters, who started the campaign as an amnesiac, had the memory spell lifted from him and was suddenly brought to the realization that he'd been an absolutely terrible person for years, had countless addictions, drove away everyone close to him, did & said terrible things to the people he loved, etc. it was pretty heartbreaking because he's a lighthearted guy and a big part of him is just being a good samaritan. it'll be interesting to see how he grapples with it.
Why did they nerf Indestructible?
It was so much fun
>>54649159
Im not familiar with the nerf.
How did they change Indestructible?
>>54649173
they didn't.

So roughly how strong are lovecraftian monsters compared to other monsters
Could Cthulhu beat a ridiculous vampire like alucard?
>>54649042
Cthulhu probably beats most vampires but it depends on the vampire
>>54649042
Cthulhu could destroy the entire world alone if the stars were right. If the stars were wrong he can't do a damn thing.
Overall though, beating Lovecraftian entities has more to do with knowledge than power or skill. For example, Wilbur Whatley's brother would be entirely undefeatable without the specific incantation to banish him.
Lovecraftian monsters vary from literally just shoot it, like ghouls, to completely indestructible like the color out of space or hounds of Tindalos.
>>54649042
Cthulhu couldn't even beat one dude in a boat.

So I have only been Painting Heroic Scale 28mm so far, I am about to get some Larger Models in the Mai soon, about 4 times bigger as a Marine
are there any differences when it comes to painting them, like different ways to Highlight/Shade ?
Should IAirbrushthem instead?
>>54647711
It dependes, it has large flat surfaces? then use airbrush, if not the case, stick with regular brush
Does anybody know where to get Dental Stone in Canada that ships? I want to make molds for generic things like bases but plaster of paris, and hydrocal aren't cutting it. I could use resin or metal, but I want my models to last more then a few uses. I've looked everywhere but haven't found shit.
