Thread Question
What's your favorite new card out of C17? Hardmode: no legends
Previous: >>54907273
You guys ever consider playing a real format?

>What's your favorite new card out of C17?
Teferi's agoraphobia
Is the "0" on a D10 a 0, or a 10?
It's a 10, what did you think the 1 represents?
Just read the goddamn rules of the game you're playing, and they'll tell you.
>>54912719
What 1?
>>54912732
Yeah but I mean generally, like which is the most common?

Wow, Nevidd is hot. Mostly the way you wrote her.How often do you think she wants to fuck?I would appreciate sauce on the pic too.
(Also, sexiness aside, I may use some of that e.g. "human hive" for the fae when DMing.)
OC here, sort of. I was trying to make something more intricate but got stuck on multiple projects, so I made something experimental instead. It's almost pure narrative, so I don't know if it's any fun to "play," but I did learn a few things while making it, some which can maybe be further applied and some which were just total dead ends. If nothing else, I hope you find it interesting. Oh, and it does have connections to another CYOA but I'm hoping it works as a standalone Weird West story.
So I was thinking about it after the fantasy /tg/ thread and if East Asians (Chinese, Koreans, Japanese) are Elves, and Europeans (Spanish, French, British, German) are Humans, what are the other fantasy races? Dwarves? Orcs? Goblins? Drow? Halflings? Gnomes? Help me out here /tg/
Basically, >ITT: We do real life-to-fantasy race conversionspic semi-related
>>54912502
These threads always devolve into retarded /pol/bait.
>>54912502
>>54912502
Dwarves are Jews. Tolkien said that, don't question it.
>>54912554
And blacks are orcs. But what does that make goblins? And what race are sand niggers?
I finally realize why we can't have an MTG movie
https://youtu.be/QxLjPO3gdvE
You have so many old stories so many characters with his own stories, a lot of planes, a lot of supposed "main characters"
You can't fit those stories in 3 movies, or better said, Hollywood can't make it...
Also it doesn't help that it would be like somehuge cinematic universe.
Which would be the point yo start so you need to know nothing?
They're making a movie out of Monster Hunter, a video game franchise that focuses on a no-name hunter who kills monsters for money.
Hollywood is making it about monsters coming into the real world via magical portals and wreaking havoc, and the average joe protagonist actually is actually the long lost descendant of an ancient hero.
Do you really think your average Hollywood director gives a shit about source material when it comes to making movies?
>>54912289
I imagine that any MTG movie would be awful like the Mortal Kombat sequels.
>>54912346
So are you suggesting a Mtg movie where planes walkers and monsters travel to earth so it get infested with monsters while Jace work with earthling army to fight against the mtg monsters and make a "transformer style movie"?
What tabletops let you play as a ghost???
>>54912015
Well, there's Wraith: The Oblivion for the obvious, Exalted has rules for playing ghosts in second edition (not good rules, but they exist), and I think that Blades In The Dark lets you keep playing as a ghost if your charcter dies.
>>54912015
D&D 3.5 had Ghostwalk
>>54912015
Wraith, but you don't get to haunt the living much, actually. Shit's pretty hard to do.
Would you play games with me in my Wizard Van?
Only if there's free candy.
>>54911644
No I will not,
Man with Van.
I stay alive
When I can.
>>54911644
If I was above 18, yes. Below, no, I'd call the cops.
So I've always wondered, whats /tg/'s opinion on Fallen London and the Sunless Sea?
And if your in a generous mood, any advice how to setup a good campaign in rolld20 with Fallen London as the setting/theme?
Cool setting.
Do Trail of Cthulhu or World of Darkness as your system. The game needs to be super fatal, but be sure to give your players heads up if they are going to dangerous places until they become more familiar with the setting.
Between Echo Bazaar and Sunless Sea you will have plenty of resources to draw upon for images and even lines for setting descriptions.
Excellent storytelling, somewhat mediocre game mechanics.
If you want to run a game in it, either choose a specific premise within the world and fit something to that, or go for something loose and narrativist like FATE.
There are two schools of thought on running it. One is doing extensive wiki research and reading to be accurate, the other is more focusing on the theme and style of the setting, making your own story and adapting it to your needs, capturing the feel rather than trying to be accurate.
One of the most original settings I've ever come across. The writing is excellent, in fact it's so good that I would struggle to capture the atmosphere as a DM.
What if Space Marines could turn into balls like Samus?
They would have a feature that doesn't come up in most materials.
... Which would fit.
What if Samus Aran had highly acidic spit like Space Marines?
>>54909947
>marines are killing everyone around you
>you don't even know why, maybe they're evil marines or maybe someone has done something to blaspheme against the Emperor
>you pull yourself into a dark hole that barely fits your malnourished frame, like a worm trying to escape the sunlight
>you should be safe in here, they'll never find you, much less reach you
>the screams and gunfire have gone quiet
>suddenly you hear a strange sound close by
>bloop
>bloop
>BLOOP
It's "Will Call" day, and that means the 50th Annual Lake Geneva Conference is now open!
Who's got plans this weekend?
Who couldn't make it?
Who am I going to see at all the history panels?
What free swag are you hoping to get?
Are the anniversary swag items really worth it?
The only reason I care is because I want to see Starfinder get shit on.
This is my first ever con and I'm so nervous, the only game I play is d&d5e
i'm running games for Games on Demand for the second year in a row. Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
if you don't know what to do with your time, grab some generic tickets and come to GoD. 2hr and 4hr games, Lots of selection specializing in smaller, or more indie titles. not focused on playtesting like IDGN, more about playing finished games. lots of game designers as GMs.
I'm running feng shui 2 and into the odd.
So, long story short, there was a post here in a thread a while ago pointing out that part of the Tau's appeal to their fandom is that they're one of the few "big" factions who don't have roots in fantasy. Ever since then, I haven't been able to stop wondering: how COULD you convert the tau to work in a fantasy setting?
My kneejerk approach would be probably to replace the gnomes: they're the race who has a natural knack for technology and the progressive mentality to put it to use. Amongst other things, they do have widespread firearms and favor them over melee. Depending on the kind of setting, either they're steampunk technologists with no magic, or they do have magic, but they approach it differently to "high magic" races like elves; they use it as a supplement to their skills and focus it through their technology, for a more Eberron approach to tech. Add in a Renaissance/Asiatic mash-up culture, and that's probably my kneejerk.
So, what do you lot think? How would you handle converting tau to use as a fantasy race?
>>54908931
Ant People.
A race of semi-aquatic humanoids that have exotic weapons. Ethereals are sorcerers, battle suits are golem like magic armor.
>>54909898
>>54910060
I mean more of "transplant tau into Fantasy and make them work" approach, although the "Ethereals are sorcerers" and the use of battle-suits as "golem-armor" certainly fits a fantasized Tau race.
So /tg/, your latest adventuring party is tasked with defeating pic related, and preventing him from gaining dominion over the entire universe. Can they pull it off?
Just get us a sacred sword, complete a few fetch quests, and stab him till he's dead. Then murder literally every gerudo. Seems easy enough to me.
>>54906919
>Just get us a sacred sword
The question here however, is how willing are your gods to giving up their divine power to help you, and how strong are they?
Argue more about the game you don't play edition.

Man-thing, explain no high elf trailer!
>>54905662
Gotta leave best for the last
Skaven are so annoying.
I'm making a blind dwarf Oracle in pathfinder who was raised thinking he was an elf and is therefore racist against dwarves.
Help me think of some witty racial slurs against dwarves that my character can yell out whenever someone mentions the dwarf in the room
>beardgoblin
>alestain
>stalagmite sucker
>alcoholics
>pube faces
>spuds—both dwarves and potatoes are lumpy and spend time underground
>dirtlicker
>dirt gnomes
>boulder bitches
>forge rats
Have fun.
Hahaha I love it
>>54905666
nice digits, also spuds is hilarious
What are cool, useful accessories to have at the table when GMing? What do you carry around on your GM bag of tricks/utility belt?
starting with the obvious:
- miniatures
- maps
- screen
- dice
>>54903712
>GM bag/utility belt
Autism.
>>54903712
Little portable speakers for playing background music. Really adds to the mood.
>>54903942
See I hate music, I find it distracting.
>>54903712
How about stained paper. When I have to give the players a letter in game I tea stain some paper then write the letter in pencil before going over the letters with a thin paintbrush.
