China was pretty much in the same place Russia was, only without the drive to industrialize to participate in the World Wars until Japan forced their hand.
I think before you start asking that though you need to decide on their political state. China for the life of it couldn't stay united around that time.

This should probably be in Horus Heresy General given we're a little slow nowadays. People tend to help newbies, they did with me.
Thousand Sons are borderline overpowered and Magnus is extremely so, so you'll be fine as long as you don't use him outside of huge games. Seriously, he can wipe a Warhound off the board in a turn easily and probably two-turn a Reaver.

Have you ever played more than one character at once? As a player, not as a GM of course. How was it?
My backup character was introduced as an NPC and it seems they're sticking around while my main PC is alive, so I'll play both characters at once until one of them dies. Not sure how it's gonna turn out, but it sounds kind of cumbersome.

The closest I came was back when I subjected myself to the torture that is Pathfinder. In that case I was playing a Witch and her familiar. However given that the familiar wasn't really a "character" in the sense of being able to fight or adventure on it's own, I'm not sure if it's really comparable. The only things I actually had to roleplay for the familiar was it's dialogue and reactions to things going on around it.

Had a game where everyone made a Monster Trainer kid and a pet monster, but then they had to swap their monster sheets around and everyone played their own trainer but someone else's monster. And no you couldn't just trade monster sheets with another player, whoever got your monster, you got a monster to play from a different player.
Ended up being really fun, had some good conflict between trainers and monsters until we all got better at working together.

I've been here multiple times, looking for advice on seeking a gm for DRYH. Gave up on it. Now, I have to be one.
I want y'alls advice on player powers. A player of mine has suggested a power that's extremely versatile, but incredibly random. It requires two rolls to function at all, and can potentially kill them on the second roll.
For those familiar with the DRYH setting, here's the power list:
1: Brick is Red: Throw a brick, whether or not one is available. Harm or break something.
2: Barbie Girl: Target is frozen solid
3: Father to Son: Depending on the roll, teleport an object to its intended target. If the targets are father and son, the success is guaranteed. 1-3 is a failure, 4-6 is a success.
5: Cherry Bomb: Similar to Brick is Red, but hits everything in an area.
6: Don't You Forget About Me: 1-3, character exists, but other players perceive him as a threat. 4-6, character dies, and half his dice are passed on to others.

My board game group wants me to show them D&D. I have the basic 5e books, two prepackaged adventures, tons of minis and maps, pounds of dice, but I haven't played or looked at D&D since pretty much 5e came out (can't find group).
So I need a core 5e one shot with premade character sheets. Something about 2-3 hours on paper. 4-6 players. I don't need anything fancy, I just need to not spend much more time than hitting the print button.
If they wind up being a group I'll start DMing and investing time, but to just show them the system I just want something quick but engaging.

Alright /tg/ I got a confession to make, I live far in Northern Europe where (at least in my town) nobody plays traditional RPGs.
I have for a long time been interested in traditional RPGs and as autistic as it sounds I play a lot of it alone.
I understand that I miss out on the whole social aspect and surprises in stories but it still feels comfy playing.

So, everyone can probably agree that power creep fucked over the Yu-Gi-Oh meta, aye? You can't use the old sets against newer ones without cherry picking the OP cards.
What if i told you that i've had a stupid idea on how to fix this...by adding another gimmicky meta to the existing one?
Hear me out.
First of all, you get a new zone to the field.
Stage Zone, onto which monster cards can be played into, placed between Spell/Trap zones and Monster Zone.
Any monster cards in the stage zone can attack any monster on the field unless blocked by card effects, or blocked from attacking a stage zone card by a monster zone card, but cannot attack the opponent's LP directly.
Cards on the stage zone can only be attacked if the attacking card has direct line of sight in either cardinal or diagonal direction without crossing another card.
And the second piece of meta - Event Spells, played on to a slot next to the
To cast an Event Spell, the player must first have a specific (amount of) monsters on the stage zone as written on the card.
Similar to fusions or XYZ, but without losing the monsters.
Event Spells last a number of turns during which their effects are activated as free actions.
For a mock up, the Event Spell Dark Magic Research requires three cards with 'Dark Magician' in the name. The Spell lasts six turns, during which the player can, say, search from their deck any spell or trap cards depicting anyone from the Dark Magician line, or any 'Dark Magic' cards, and any Dark-element Spellcaster cards get a boost to their attack or defence values.
Another mockup, the Event Spell 'Ganbare Goe-Goe' requires 'Goe-Goe the Gallant Ninja', 'Lady Ninja Yae', 'Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke' and 'Masked Ninja Ebisu'. lasts 8 turns and allows the player to search for any card depicting any character featured in the cards required, or maybe special summon possible Impact cards, and boost attack values of any card with Ninja in the name.

You roleplay as some kind of warrior, right? Even the people who play mages, priests, and technicians end up fighting, for one reason or another.
Teach me something about fighting that your character would say.
Stuff like "Try to get a wall to your back when you're outnumbered" or
"If you need to interrupt a wizard mid-spell, a punch to the throat guarantees they'll lose focus" or
"Feint through a glass mask. Don't try to lead them with your eyes or facial expressions, but remain expressionless and feint using your body."I don't even care if it's wrong, as long as it sounds like it could be right.
