No thanks.

why not?
Does anybody play? If so what version do you prefer? Which version would you recommend to a new player?
Bump?
We used the old school 1st edition set, and made our own houseruled cards that were selected at the beginning of each turn.
The guy who made the cards just wrote shit on an index card and each player drew a card each turn, they were all
>fire on your carrier! Lose 1 plane on a random carrier
>production boost! gain $5 extra to spend on units at the end of your turn
If the card didn't apply to you (like carrier fire! but you had no carriers) then it was ignored

I got A&A 1942 second edition, good game but takes a lot of time to finish. I had a Japanese carrier group that went through the Suez Canal and the game still wasn't over for the Allies.
Let's make a Marine chapter using the creation tables. Who wants the first roll?

I messed up
I rolled a 7. They're a standing army then.

Only issue with that is you get a cures strip down the middle which is a waste and kind of a pain. I tend to prefer pic related, myself.

Horror RPGs require that your players be invested in their character. Not every group will get into it because a good horror game demands that players give a shit about what's happening. Breaking immersion will kill a horror game. Anyone running a horror game has an uphill battle to fight because they are dealing with a bunch of people who are probably well versed in the tropes of horror, who are separated from their character's perspective by a greater degree than you might find in a movie.
What works to create fear in literature and movies will not work in tabletop. Describing a bloody body dropping from the floor above doesn't do much to scare players. Instead, take a hint from video games. Make your players helpless against an unknowable and extremely powerful foe. Put them into a situation where they have to make a choice that they know is a bad one, but it's the only way to move forward.
When I run CoC scenarios I always tell my players that the system will be blatantly unfair to them. I tell them that survival is probably the best they can hope for, and I warn them that trying to fight anything would be like trying to barefist fight a grizzly bear IRL.
>can it even be done.
Yes, yes it can. Exceptionally well.

Well I think Trevor Belmont would make a good Paladin.
He's Lawful, he pays for his drinks and food (or tries to) even if the locals hate him. He could easily have stolen them. He's good or at least has the Judeo-Christian god on his side. Blessed weapons.
Sure the Catholic church threw his family out but in the Netflix cartoon universe, they don't get a vote even if they don't know it.
If someone has a +1/+1 enchantment and they aren't using counters then you attack forgetting about the +1/+1 what happens? Is it really my responsibility to keep track of my opponent's nonexistent counters?
That's bullshit. If there's no rules against this then i'm just gonna stop playing with counters to fuck with my opponent.
>>54934700
Just use pennies (or your country's equivalent) or staples or track it all down on a piece of paper. This is not a problem you should be having.
>>54934700
We play casual and any dumbass who forgets about their +1/+1 loses it. Why should others suffer for the stupidity of one.
For the little bit of tournament I played (5) the player who forgot an effect loose it.
That's all.

Also, thread.
How would these guys work as an Imperial Guard Regiment?
>>54934074
Visually Armageddon Steel Legion, mechanically...I want to say they're effectively Space Marine Scouts. Take an Astartes detachment.
>>54934074
Malnourished, poorly equipped, indoctrinated to fight and die for someone else's profit. So, like every IG regiment ever.

How would you create a redwall campaign?
Would you create a class system or just a race system?
Would you have the campaign at red wall or somewhere else?
Would it be really hard, really easy or somewhere in between?
Just use Mouse Guard and set it in the Redwall universe
Woodland Warriors does this with a very D&D-style system. Its art leaves something to be desired though. There's also Hyperborean Mice, but the attributes for social standing might not work well in a Redwall game.
Barbarians of Lemuria might work pretty well, too. Just replace all the different races of men with mice, hares, shrews, badgers, and the like, with their own qualities.
>>54932349
>How would you create a redwall campaign?
>Would you create a class system or just a race system?
I think Redwall is the perfect sort of setting for a more narrative based system. Mouse Guard doesn't fit well because it was mainly designed to emulate the world of Mouse Guard which, despite superficial similarities (mice! with swords!), is quite different. Mouse Guard is much more gritty, with an emphasis on the fact that the player characters are much smaller than most of the threats they face.
Size and species difference in the heroic fantasy world of Redwall is based more upon plot and dramatic need. A mouse can fight a fox to a standstill with the sword of Martin the Warrior in his hands. In Mouse Guard, a fox is essentially a dragon, a beast that might take fifty mice to bring down.
I'd use Fate or something with similar aims to run Redwall. Aspects would cover the differences between species without having to worry about the minutiae of stat differences and would put emphasis on the connections of the characters to the world and each other.
>Would it be really hard, really easy or somewhere in between?
I suppose that would be up to the players and their expectations. Personally, I'd want a world slightly more grown up that the books, with a bit more grey morality, while still having good triumphing over evil in the end and death being impactful and dramatic when it does occur. Going too far into the darkness - searats raping their captives or a secret cannibal cult in the abbey - would cut into what's best about Redwall.
So where is he now?

/v/ here, recently discovered Warhammer thanks to the Total War game and I was really into all the lore and shit in the game so I went looking for more online, but apparently, Warhammer is discontinued?

because it wasn't making enough money

I soak them in a solution of vinegar and either tea or used coffee grounds for a few hours on game day, before people show up.
I always wondered why specific gods had rivalries with others. Like shouldn't khorne hate tzeentch since he don't like sorcery and has so many buffs against it? Or shouldn't Slaanesh hate nurgle since he's gross and 'ugly'? It seems to me the established rivalries don't make sense.
>>54927787
Yes... That's exactly how things work right now. Khorne hates Tzeentch because of trickery and sorcery. While Slaanesh hates Nurgle because he represents both decay and also stole away Isha after the Fall. What rivalries are you talking about?
>>54927787
>Tzeentch hates nurgle because tzeentch is change, nurge is stagnancy.
>Khorne hates slaanesh because knorne is martial pride, and slaanesh makes battles weird.
>>54927787
Khorne isn't fond of Tzeentch because he encompasses portfolios of trickery and guile which oppose honour and valour, and Magic is the antitheses of progress brought about by sacrifice, because it's literally cheating cause and effect.
Khorne has minor leniency for magic, in terms of summonings, enchanted wargear, and daemonic natural abilities such as the sweltering body-heat his daemons have, as it is stated that if a Khornate get's his hand on a wizard, he's to force that mage to make him a sword, because it's fucking hilarious that you take someone with phenomenal cosmic powers who can cheat and rape the laws of reality to do things that border miracles in the rawest sense of the word with little effort who could craft wondrous items for you-
And you tell him to fucking shove all that effort and talent into a sword else you'll stab him in the face till he doesn't have one. That's the ultimate expression of domination, right there, and Khorne is good with that. Also his Daemons are effectively Anti-Mage Nightmares so there's that too, Tzeentch can't hold a candle to him, not since it broke it's staff in ages long past anyhow.
Slaanesh Excess incarnate and his equally pissed off the other 3 in excessive measure, Slaanesh basically wants to fuck Khorne and often goads and berates him for it, to the point where there was mention of the fact that if the two fight, it would be Mutually assured destruction, and it's noted the form it takes around Khorne is pretty much a nubile fuckboy, so I guess it's trying for the whole Warriors reward angle, but Khorne is all business so he's not into that shit.
Nurgle immediately slapped Slaanesh's shit for getting all uppity when it woke and starting eating eldar gods, saving Isha from her, but there's sort of border between Slaanesh and Nurgle because people burn themselves out, leaving them to despair (AKA when you feel bad after you bus a nut) And of course, some more- er nasty fetishes come to mind.
