How sure are we that there aren't aliens who have ascended way before the Exarchs? Maybe they are the reason why the Exarchs can't just go ham on reality

Multiple levels of simulations to the point where the prisoners aren't even sure what's actually real. For the most part the simulations are perfect except that they sneak in a couple of details that give away the deception like 3 AM lasting two hours or titles of famous movies being slightly off. When the prisoner dies in the simulation, they wake up back in their cell and another begins.

Have you tried RP sites or roleplaying in MMO's lad? YOu may find some success roleplaying in Wyrmest Accord or by downloading RPH. I've been looking for a good rp forum myself though and can't help you there.

I prefer the smaller formats, the big 3000 point slogs are for slumber parties and whatnot

For example, the old IG codex has a ton of different units, from troops to elites to new vehicles. Meanwhile, Tempestus Scions are very limited in choices, with just a troop choice, a couple vehicles and a QG unit

All those models are available and have rules for them. Why would GW scrap them and release an entirely new range? . It makes sense for them to just release small forces for each army that can either be an addition to the existing army or form their own smaller , at least in respect to model variety , army if the player wishes.

Likewise most people focus their lists anyway and don't buy a rainbow of units to use as this is generally ineffective.
