I approve. When you give someone your army to paint, you're submitting to their creative freedom as long as they are painted in the style you requested, eg. Ravenguard colour scheme.

Very sneaky, gave me a chuckle.

Alright, /jc/, I've figured out I'm going Farseer in 40K Eldar.

What's the minimum I need to pull it off? I'm thinking some plot armor, a lot of regen, some durability, a few planning perks, and at least one pocket dimension to lay low in if things get too hot.

At this point the value of these things is at its lowest.
You could wait a few years and 'maybe' see then gaining value, or crack them now and do some drafts. Battle for Zendikar doesn't have many played cards in legacy formats, so I would sell them now or open it.
>>
>>55054415
Drafting is the best format of Magic, so whilst you might not get the value, you'll definitely have a good time.

I just started playing this system. I'm running Lost Mines of Phandelver with some friends. So far we've had a good time, but I wonder how I should be giving out magic items? Some of them seem really powerful, and I don't want to remove the fun of the challenge from the game. Also, is it considered a faux pas to create your own magic items?

>>55052869
Take a look at the random loot tables arranged by level. You don't have to choose randomly if you want. Just start low.

No it's not a faux pas, but it's easy for an inexperienced DM to accidentally break the game by introducing a broken item. Use caution.

Tell me about Your Dudes /tg/. I don't give a single fuck about what game they're from, as long as they're Your Dudes. Your terrible conversions and awful choice of colour scheme don't matter either, they're YOUR Dudes, our opinion doesn't matter, except when you want it to. Don't have any models to show? Tell us about them anyway.

Here, I'll start.

Duonian Tunnel Ghouls: Imperial Guard regiment who specialist in subterranean combat. Planet was virus bombed to fuck, and has a serious ravener infestation. They live in underground bunkers 100% of the time, and speak almost entirely in sign language due to the fact that noises cause ravener attacks. Other people think they're creepy, and they think other people are loud and obnoxious. They hate pretty much everyone on the surface, and only respect their own. They also all carry a single grade who's sole purpose is to collapse tunnels in case of an enemy attack. They are a fun bunch.

Now its your turn.

I need help /tg/. I looking to create a ranking system of demons, starting from Imp and going up, and I don't know nearly enough unique types of demons to fill out any kind of roster. The basic thing to consider is that all demons can become a higher tier in an almost Digimon like fashion..

Just to be clear, this isn't asking for help with the setting, but more "OP doesn't know that many types of demons."

So far I have
>The Lost: An unprocessed, mostly intangible ball of soul energy that was once a person, sent to the hell plane that has yet to 'become' something higher. Powerful souls change quickly, while some souls are too weak to ever catalyze and become a demon.
>Imp: The lowest demon on the totem pole, and what every Lost Soul turns into at first. Majority of the plane's denizens are imps, and while individual might may vary, the trait of Imps are their unnaturally high magic reserves. Powerful imps look like their original, previously mortal selves with some imperfections or changes (horns, unnatural eye color, etc), while weak imps look like short, almost exaggerated caricatures of their past selves.
>Fiend: Second level demon, and the choice of an Imp that prefers to use force. Sacrificed the magic reserves of their previous form to be able to channel magic through their body instinctively and get mad gains. Generally, most warrior type imps become this, and the fate of almost every fiend is either death in combat or an eventual promotion to something higher.
>Devil: Second level demon, with a focus on magic. Mostly non-combatant, focuses on gaining might and energy through more subtle means since they can't just rip it out of someone's chest like a Fiend can. Sometimes consider a two and a half level demon, as many Devils find their new social status and might enough of a difference from their previous status as an Imp that they simply never bother with raising to a higher level.

>digimon
Immediately stopped and dropped your weebshit
>>
>>55051038
>Demon: Third level demon, and their outright confusing name is because this is what the mortal world generally knows of as a demon, since they are a favorite for cult summonings. Many Fiends run the risk of losing most of their higher reasoning, and just become battlefield brutes.
>Succubus/Incubus: Third level demon. A ballsier Devil, for the most part. Skips the contracts and just drains people and things of their energy directly. At this point, they start coming up with plans to get into the mortal plane and stay there, rather than just being temporarily summoned.

And that's it because I don't know what else to do besides stepping into general monster names and I feel that defeats the point.

>>55051058
Completely understandable, and I wish I had a better way to explain it without devolving into some tl;dr setting wankery. Apologies for leaving a bad taste in your mouth.

Imp
Fiend
Devil
Archfiend (imp is to fiend as devil is to archfiend)
Superior (no magic but absolute authority over its own legion of ranks)
Demonlord (incredible power only a handful of demons in the world at this rank. Aside from having amazing combat strength and spellcasting talent, each has his own unique powers and quirks.)
Something Truly Special (one or two or no demons at this rank. Doesn't have a name because it is so extremely rare and unprecedented)

I like planing ahead and even tough the final battle is still in the future i just can´t seem to find the right tune for it. Everything medieval fantasy sounds 'churchy' as fuck.

I´m looking for something quiet similiar to the final battle in the last DmC-Entry, empty from combichrist ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XynTyxleH1Q ). Reason i don´t take it is that i find it quiet weird taking electronic or modern music in a fantasy setting, still you don´t find anything that "depressing" or "booming" in the fantasy departement, at least i don´t. Everything "evil" is either churchy (90% of the dark souls stuff which you get bombarded with when you ask for final battle music) or lotro style.

Depends on what you want to do with it. Also, you should probably play some of the games, if only because there are some really good ones, especially Symphony of the Night.

I don't have any advice for a specific system, but if you're straight up doing Castlevania, you've at least got a clear goal for the campaign: Kill Dracula. How the players get there can be any number of ways.

It could be a world-spanning adventure where the PCs do as much investigation and information gathering as they do fighting, with the main enemies being cults that worship Dracula and are preparing the world for his return. It could also be a single enormous dungeon crawl contained entirely within the labyrinthine Demon Castle itself. Or it could be specific to a single area of countryside, like Order of Ecclesia was, with each area being its own sort of self-contained dungeon.

Real talk, though? Play some of the games. They're really fun and good. (most of them)

I'm working on a campaign that for the most part takes place in a city where the birth of an Elder God has reawoken the 4 Great Old One siblings that were lying dormant beneath and around it. This set off a chain reaction that makes up most of the significant history of the city (plague, riots because of plague, mini self contained post apocalypse etc).
I'm wondering if, even if their influence is kept hidden for the most part until very far in, like "there's a ton of really wierd shit going on here" instead of "ITS CTHULHU GUYS THERE'S TENTACLES EVERYWHERE", would people become fatigued with the idea since there are so many Great Old Ones contained in one area? Do I run a significant risk of someone boredly going "its another old god or whatever isnt it" every time they discover something new about the city's history?
Does this solely rely on writing quality or do you see the concept growing old and tired/losing interest very quickly? Any tips to make sure no one gets "Old God Fatigue"?

Make it one old one awakening another, and not four unless it's important
>>
You can make as many as you want so long they dont appear at all. Eldritch horror work best the less you show them. Make their presence felt, but not seen or touched.
>>
>>55050194
The idea was that something the populace did from the awakening of a previous one combined with the birth of the god would awaken another brother, like some of the people stricken with plague from the first's awakening would disturb another and fall under its influence trying to find a cure, etc

>>55050239
I'm not going to have them fight them as bosses, they'd stay underground or underwater or wherever. The most I'd have them interact with would be the effects of their awakening, their broods and the fucked up remains of the people under their influence
