What do you think of the Reverse Robot Apocalypse?

Also, post robots. I've just found out I have a shitload of robots I haven't seen posted in forever so I figured I'd share. I really need me some robot world building stuff so feel free to share.

Well I for one LOVE the WHOOSH KABLAM SHWOOOOP SHLLLLLP DINGDINGDING IT'S A ME MARIO but I genuinely hope they allow you to turn it off for players like you.

It feels like Hearthstone because that's what it should've been the whole time.

I'm just thankful that I don't need to wait five whole seconds before the game registers a goddamn action.

I've been doing a lot of handwaving for my players in the current game I'm running for them, and as far as I can tell, all but one of them super dig it. The outlier is a rules nazi who min/maxed his character for combat scenarios that seldom come up and when they do they are quick and deadly for everyone.

I've discovered that many rules only serve to limit and complicate what should be simple and potentially limitless possibilities. Dice adding an element of chance is all you need to make it a game. Everything else is bullshit for people who want to "win" or "beat" the game.

Fuck crunch. Fuck min/maxers. Have fun and tell a story you fuckers. If you want combat, go play a video game.

I agree up to the crunch is bad part (I don't mind crunch) but min/max ppl and rules lawyers are fucking cancerous

The funny part is the person this thread is bait for will ignore it because it's his bait.

So, GW mentioned at the Nova Open that Arbites are on their "wish list" in adding them to the wargame.

How could they be implemented without feeling too redundant, especially in the wake of so many Imperial factions already in the game?

Presumably, they'd be a mini-faction, since Arbites aren't meant to fight full-on wars. I doubt they'd be much more than Sisters of Silence or Custodes; ie, basically a few unique units and a transport. Likely part of the Imperial Agents codex.

But what would their role be?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
I feel the best in-flavor use for them would be close combat horde for Imperium, we don't have that yet. Something like BS5+, WS5+, 3T/3S, 1A, 1W, 4+ save. Give them all CCW. Take them in units of 10-20.
On top of that maybe give them an Elite choice of swat units. Aggressive, short-range, units with a CCW. give them 4+ BS/WS, maybe a 2nd attack (probably not). Equip them with Shotguns and a CCW and give them some special weapons, like flamers and meltas.
I think they should use Taurox or something as a ground transport and maybe a new unique drop ship.
This way they can fuffill the role of cheap close combat units which Imperium doesn't have yet.
>>
>>55274762
I would expect them to be focused around Necromunda, similar to all the gang factions. I don't think the gang factions will get full 40k rules and neither will arbites.
>>
Stormtroopers with Shotguns and Stormshields instead of Hotshot Volley Guns.

Yay, GW can now can sell a $49.99 codex.

I assume you want villains?

If so then I would run it like a Sinister-Six or Flashe's Rogue's plot.

Theirs some Big Good Guy who none of the characters ever seem to beat so they decide to team up, and make some big plot to beat them. Have them all be B & C-list villains against an A-tier. They can fight other B&C heroes and villains as they prepare their big attack on the main Hero.

But personally, I think a group fo Evil-Heroes would be more interesting.

Imagine a team of superpowered people that do good things for all the wrong reasons. Some are sadistic blood knights who realized they can kill criminals and no one really care, their glory hounds who are only their to save you when the camera's rolling, or their greedy bastards just there for the product placement opportunities.

Was just doing a big RPG clearout and came across a copy of pic related. Also found the Game Master's Toolkit, Player's Toolkit and the Gathering Storm adventure.

Naturally, I opened everything up and went to learn the rules only to find, I'm missing the core rulebook and whatever the blue book is in pic related.

Managed to find this quick reference to the rules but it doesn't really cover character creation etc. http://www.orderofgamers.com/downloads/WFRP3_v2.pdf

Anyone know where I could pick up the other books? Since FFG killed their support for warhammer I can't find it on DriveThruRPG either.

Okay, I'm kinda lost, but where else I'd ask this. Snakes on average more dense than hair, right? How much heavier would be to have snakes on your head compared to haircut of the same volume?

We first have to establish what snakes, or establish the weight of these medusa-head snakes. I would say we take a common kind of snake natural to ancient greece.

Keratin weighs 1.283 grams per cubic centimeter
The average garter snake weighs 150 grams, is between 46 and 137 centimeters long, and I estimate that their radial width is apx 2 centimeters in diameter on average.
If my math is right, a head of snakes should actually be LIGHTER than a head of hair, if both have equal volume.

Probelm is, human hair has volume to it, so it appears larger than its actual size. I have no equations to measure natural hair volume, so I reccomend instead calculating how many snakes an average medusa head might have, and calculate the mass of each of these snakes, and apply that to the mass of a bald head.

>Outbreak D’sholtu – The Gloaming Bloat Spreads…

>The coming of warp storm Baphamet left the fortress world of D’sholtu locked in permanent night. Worse was to follow as the Imperial defenders were overrun by Necrons rising from below, and by Aeldari from the stars above. Now the 3rd Plague Company have joined the war, spreading their foul sweating sickness to Imperial and Aeldari warriors alike.

>Outbreak Lorphax – Sanguous Flux Epidemic

>In the Lorphax Sub-sector, Imperial forces fought to drive back the Orks of Waaagh! Kraktoof. When fresh waves of greenskins exhibited a hideous, blood-weeping plague, the Imperial defenders soon became infected. Then came the 5th Plague Company, their Daemon Engines trampling the weakened enemy and beginning a punishing three-way war for dominance.

>Outbreak Tarpharon – Droning Squirm Infestation

>The Tyranids of Hive Fleet Scitalis tore through the Phantax Sector, on a collision course with the Nurgle-worshipping worlds of the Vermidium. Now, though, their advance has been slowed and scattered across a dozen systems by the efforts of the 6th Plague Company, the Ferrymen striking like sudden viral outbreaks against leader beasts and hive nodes.

What clusterfucks.
>>
>The Black Crusades

>Over long centuries, Abaddon the Despoiler spends the blood of countless followers in battles against the Imperium. Though seemingly unconnected, each crusade is in truth part of a far grander plan that eventually triggers the opening of the Great Rift. During this period, the new Warmaster forges numerous pacts with the greatest Chaos powers, amongst them the Death Guard. Mortarion’s scorn for Abaddon is obvious, but the Daemon Primarch cannot ignore his successes, and so sends warbands of his sons to aid in several of the Despoiler’s campaigns. Typhus aids Abaddon more readily, fighting alongside him more than once, and using his attacks upon the Cadian Gate as an opportunity to spread the seeds of the zombie plague far and wide.

Morty hates Abaddon for some reason.

>The Battle of Kornovin

>The Grey Knights meet the Death Guard on the planet of Kornovin, the battle representing the culmination of an ancient plan to banish Mortarion forever. The Daemon Primarch’s might is too great, however; after Mortarion fells Supreme Grand Master Geronitan in battle, the newly appointed Supreme Grand Master Draigo is forced to work a desperate banishment ritual that hurls Mortarion’s spirit into the warp for many years. It is a pyrrhic victory at best, a respite that Mortarion uses to gather fresh forces and plot his next and greatest invasion of realspace.

The Draigo one punching retconned? Doesn't seem as bad in this version.
>>
>Seed of Doom

>Confounded by the magnatropic defence matrices of the forge world Takbandrha, an invasion force of the 5th Plague Company is all but annihilated. Only a single Death Guard Sorcerer makes it to the forge world’s surface, vanishing into the gloomy serf-warrens of the underfactorums. Summoning Daemons through ritual sacrifice and desecration, the Sorcerer conjures a foul new army whose burgeoning corruption draws yet more of their number through the veil, their numbers growing exponentially. Though the initial Death Guard attack causes the merest pinprick in the hide of this Imperial world, the virulent doom that spreads from it soon sees Takbandrha sicken and die.

It only takes one.

>Hive of Horrors

>Typhus infests Hive Pandorial with the zombie plague, departing before Imperial retribution can occur. Instead of encountering a hated and ancient enemy, the courageous men of the Necromundan Spyders find themselves plunging deep into the shadowed horrors of a hive filled only with the shambling corpses of those they came to avenge.

So that's where the Necromunda zombies came from.

>Curdled Faith

>Attacked by T’au pacification cadres, the Imperial shrine world of Calendhula remains defiant behind their shield of faith. Their defence falters, however, when the world’s statues weep tears of filth and their water sources turn to gelid slime. As battle rages and the body count spirals, hellish portals yawn in Calendhula’s depths, and the warriors of the 4th Plague Company march out. Led by the Eater of Lives and bolstered by capering Daemons, they crush both the Imperial and T’au forces to claim the world for Nurgle.

The T'au will not forgive this. The Deatg Guard should watch their backs.

What is so hard about the game it is memed as tablemaster and a complex game but is it really? Is its complexity sole based on the fact it loves to use charts. People here find PF complex, a system so retarded and easy only difficult part is reading the shitty book they made. So please explain in what way its complex, what is so hard to learn people avoid playing it?

It's not so much hard as it is tedious. You're going to want to use an Excel spreadsheet to handle the math for your character, because otherwise you'll be calculating the bonuses to your skills for an hour any time you gain a level, or stub your toe and lower your Ag enough to change the bonus.

There are charts for nearly everything, which is alright as long as you remember where to find them and can do it quickly. Combat rapidly devolves into a slog if someone is unfamiliar with their weapon or casts an aether bolt that was in... RM6? Fire and Ice?

The system does address wounds better than, say, PF, by imposing penalties, stun, bleed, etc. A character at 1 concussion hit is probably unable to stand, whereas a PF character at 1 HP is doing just fine.

Use some houserules as you find necessary, and have fun with it. I've been playing the system on and off for 5 years now, it can be fun.

This is my first time coming up with my own character. I really wanted him to be a Dragonborn Wizard called "Blizzard the Lizard Wizard", so I kind of came up with a backstory around that. Am I doing too much? Have I done too little? Do I completely suck? Constructive feedback encouraged.

The Story and Origin of Blizzard the Lizard Wizard
Name: Gul’Thran Beldak Brizesiia
Clan: Member of the Gul’Thran (draconic for Cold Flight), a Dragonborn clan who have made their home in the mountain peaks. Descended from white dragons, they prefer to remain secluded on their mountain top. The Gul’Thran know little of the peoples outside their territory and do not care of their affairs. Few leave the clan to explore the world, for those who choose to do so are disowned from the clan and treated as strangers. They worship no gods, nor do they practice magic.

Childhood nickname: Bisairi (Duties) – Given to him by Marqull, who would constantly yell it at him to remind him to do his work.

Background: Beldak and his brother Ghatur were born to a single mother, but were raised primarily by the clan scribe Marqull, who pitied the poor hatchlings, as their mother lacked the resources to raise them herself. Though he never knew his father, his brother assumes a less than noble heritage given the looks they receive from the elders. Marqull planned raise them as his own, and once older Ghatur and Beldak worked as Marqull’s assistants, transcribing documents detailing the scattered history of the clan and running basic day-to-day errands. Doing this they both became fairly literate in the languages of both Draconic and Basic.

[2/2]
Since young, Beldak yearned for knowledge of the world. Questions of the origins of the world and the geneology of his bloodline haunted him throughout the nights. While Marqull knew some stories learned from journals of unfortunate adventurers who attempt the summit, this knowledge was nowhere near enough to satisfy the boy. His brother, however, was unphased by such existential thoughts, worrying only about building reputation within the clan. One day, while scavenging for food at Marqull’s request, he and his brother stumble upon the frozen remains of a traveler foolish enough to attempt to brave the ascent. As they were looting his corpse, Beldak happened upon a book engraved with a strange symbol in the man’s satchel. As soon as he touched the aged leather binding, Beldak felt closer to his answers than he had ever been before. However, the lettering was in a language foreign to him and his clan. He knew at that moment he must find the peoples who can translate this book and impart on him the secrets of the multiverse. He begged for his brother to follow him on his adventure, but Ghatur refused to join, telling Beldak that he cannot support him leaving the clan, because without Marqull and the clan they would have nothing. That night Beldak left a note to Marqull thanking him for his upbringing, gathered his belongings, and began his descent from the mountain, clutching the book tightly in one hand.

Again, total noob here, so this might be lame af. I gave him the nickname Bisairi (draconic for Duties?) with the idea that it gets bastardized into Blizzard by some illiterates.

I was going for him having a sage/scribe background. Thoughts? Literally anything would be great
