Do you guys think this is good card design? It requires zero synergy and just transforms into an absolute beast when a deck inevitably meets the simple conditions.
I think it's lazy and lacks drawbacks. Post cards you find have good or bad design
>>55083166
I would argue that is does require synergy. You'll never see it flip in something like U/R control. Even decks like B/G Constrictor, Ramaput Red, or Temur Energy would also have difficulty maintaining 5 critters long enough to activate it's transform ability. This is, of coursw, assuming you are talking about it in the standard format. It needs a deck adept at crapping out tokens.
Would you like it more if it required nontoken creatures to sacrifice?

Stay safe, space city niggas, and remember the Emperor Protects.
It's been a whip since we had a thread on these guys, has anyone made a 1d4chan article yet?
Aren't 40K vampires just Dark Eldar?
>>55082925
There are also some guys who touch some artifact or something that turns them into vampires. Forget the name.
>>55082925
It's a /tg/ homebrew thing from a month or two ago. From what I remember some heretek tapped into a big time rogue Necron AI (possibly the Void Dragon) and ended up unleashing a Nercrontyr nanovirus that mimics vampirism in rare cases, but mostly turns its victims into nanite zombie things. There was talk of renegade Space Marine equivalents of Blood Dragons and Rogue Trader Von Carsteins.
All in all pretty cool stuff that I'd like to see finished so I can use it in 40kRPG games.
Ok so I've got a setting/scenario pitch here. All I want is to know if you'd be interested in playing in the setting where this is happening.
"The keyboard in front of you is infected. If you were to pry those keys off and look carefully among the switches, you'd see the first growths in there. Thin pink threads braided around the base of each key, woven through plastic that seems to have been corroded. But those wisps of flesh and the vanished plastic are one in the same; the thing that got into your keyboard is tearing apart the neatly ordered hydrocarbon chains of dead plastic and creating the proteins of living cells. If you were to do something as foolish as touch those threads, they might react to you. They might raise themselves up like questing earthworm heads and brush your fingertips so gently you probably wouldn't feel it.
Your keyboard will keep working for a week or so more. The flesh in there is careful, like the larva of a parasitic wasp. It wants things to continue as normal until it is fully grown. But one day soon you'll press down on a key and the whole thing will collapse like an egg shell and reveal the rapidly pulsing organs underneath. The thing that was your keyboard, half formed and fetal, will slither out, leaving a trail of fluid behind it. It will search out the other things in your home that are infected. Tv, cds, computer monitor, plastic bottles, motor oil, action figures, anything plastic, anything with hydrocarbons to rip apart. The nascent flesh will pull themselves together, merging into something unknown and inhuman. Something alien."
>>55082899
"You will live to see it of course. The infection burrowed into your flesh way back in the beginning, cutting into keratinocytes with protein drills and infiltrating your bloodstream. By the time your keyboard has revealed itself, you will have lost all fear of such things. Lost most of your emotions, in fact. You will watch the keyboard leave, thinking nothing for hours until you get hungry. You will keep yourself fed, to nurse the thing that is busily disassembling your neurons and every other cell in your body. By the time the other worldly creature born of your keyboard steps into the room, you will have no capacity left to understand it. You may look at it, if you have eyes left, but more than likely you will simply sit, motionless - the muscles of your limbs were scavenged days ago - on a dissolving chair.
The creature will not harm you. It will simply walk past you and out the door, into the street. There, it will join with the others of its kind emerging from other homes."
Interesting monster, but where's the setting?
>>55082899
It's a no from me. You started with a good idea but you put all your eggs in that basket without any thought to how any of it would result in a playable game. Really all you've got is a creepypasta and while the writing is good there's not much underneath it.
Hey /tg/, I am looking for suggestions on a fairly easy to use universal roleplaying system.
been interested in chaosium's basic roleplaying rules but I want to know If it's worth it or not before hand.
>>55082448
GURPS is pretty good

Anyone have a copy of Subversion's City Generator Demo handy?
I have lost mine and it's annoying to find and I can't. I need it for working on fluff-maps for a Star Wars game.
QUICKLY /tg/
I'm running a game, and the part and their NPC girlfriends are going to be exploring an abandoned mansion in the forests of Virginia.
What are some spooky things I can have happen? Puzzles, creatures, stories, all welcome.

A strong, masculine ghost cuckolds the players by fucking their NPC gfs silly
Is it physically possible for a planet in our universe to exist that has Earth-like qualities (1g of gravity on the surface, strong magnetic field to protect from space radiation, 2/3rds water, 1/3rd land, etc) BUT the planet has 3 times the surface area of our Earth?
No.
>>55082229
Not all of it.
If you increase surface area and want to keep gravity, and thus mass, at around the same, you need to make the planet out of something considerably less dense than Earth. That in turn implies that you do not have a mostly iron core (iron is dense), which in turn fucks up the magnetic field.
>>55082258
What if it had a supremely dense (but tiny) core and a supremely thick (but light) mantle?
>attack action == single swing of weapon
>roll to-hit doesn't beat AC == "You miss"
>>55082089
It's easier to understand and quicker to say than "You swing your axe, but it glances off of his chainmail"

Man, I feel bad for you poorfags. You should just get a better job and play the best formats the game has to offer: Legacy and Vintage. Enjoy your 70%+ aggro format, I'd think not playing magic was better than playing a format this shitty. In the mean time here's a picture of a Black Lotus to help motivate you to stop being such absolute plebs.
Shit format, shit thread
what would disproportionate strength and constitution look like
>>55081723
What do you mean, anon?
>>55081905
He probably means 3 STR/18 con or 18 STR/3 con.
So basically, beef cattle (the first) and a bodybuilder with hemophilia (the second).
>>55081905
I think he means what would it look like if someone had an absurd amount of con but really low strength, and vice versa.
Walked in without expectations, came out from an enjoyable thrill looking for more.
How much longer until I get disappointed?
>>55081719
As long as the book has Weiss and Hickman as the authors and isn't when they tried to shoe horn the 5th age, they aren't bad.
They haven't aged well, but when you consider they are many times the trope codifiers for post-Tolkien fantasy, they are required reading to be student of the genre, at least the 1st 2 trilogies are.
They are certainly better than anything in the Forgotten Realms series.
>>55082227
>looks up the publication dates of Chronicles and Legends
Holy shit, these books are almost as old as I am.
Anyway, I can't speak for the later stuff, but the Chronicles and Legends trilogies are good enough for what they are.
I think I've pretty much read all of them EXCEPT the main line. I really enjoyed the world, hopeful fantasy.
If you were GMing Arthas campaign and he actually listens to Medivh and goes to Kalimdor with Jaina and most of the kingdom.
How would the story proceed?
>>55081611
Probably the same? Warcraft had a pretty good story up until WoW launched and everything turned into a carnival of nonsense
Ner Zhul controls the Scourge
>>55081647
Well everything kinda had to turn into nonsense it's anexo MMO.
