Can I be a Witch (male)
Guys I'm having a terrible issue with my homebrew. There are two classes, the normie and the wizard. It seems like no matter what, the wizard is completely overpowering the game. It seems to be that the wizards ability to manipulate the very fabric of the universe with their mind inherently makes them superior no matter what.
You can't really argue with this logic though. The normie is just a guy with some tools. The wizard can bend the universe over to his very will and make space and time his bitch. This power may merely manifest as the ability to light a match because that's the capability written in the system, but the powers granted by the system have nothing to do with it. The ability to manipulate reality with your mind is inherently OP no matter what.
Introduce a resource that the Wizard uses for his abilities that is used up, and kills or harms the Wizard once depleted.
Have using abilities either be possibly harmful for the player or the players party. Possibly a side effect to the Wizards ability, or the possibility for a failed use of the ability to set the party back.
Have a sage
I see what you're doing and I do not approve of it.
Ok, let's say, on a planet, a space marine chapter finds several large vaults. These vaults hold many things. Clothes, toys, books, diaries, artifacts, and weapons, and all other things.
They find out later, that these vaults are the full of Emperor's personal belongings from across his life. i.e the teddy bears he slept with as a child, a bottle of his #1 soda brand and the cars he drove.
Word gets out about this to the galaxt at large.
What happens?
If the personal belongings include experiments, superweapons, or any sort of wacky super science it's probably on lockdown while being investigated indefinitely. If it's just things of personal value I imagine it would just become a shrine world, as those have popped up for much less
said planet becomes a very impromptu fortress world, and the mechanicum get to work tryna find anything they can use, SM chapter leaders get pissy, and presumably a good amount of chaos bullshit happens.

Gait knew the stories and the rumours, and knew they were stupid. No dire curse-runes, no pages of human skin or ridiculous incantations to appease dead spirits. It was a small, plain parcel of cloth cover and creamy paper, the writing across each page the regular, even hand of a competent scribe. What ornamentation imaginable by a human mind could go a hundredth of the way to doing justice to what was inside?
The book was held in a neutral gas formulated to prevent the material from ever decaying; the stasis field that filled the room whenever there were no visitors made sure of it. It had acquired scuffs and creases in its days as a working document, but it would acquire no more. Fine wires rested between the pages and in theory the machine could turn the book to whatever clause a reader needed to look at. Gait could not remember it ever being used. The flotilla had plenty of transcripts and copies to use day to day, the masters knew the whole document to the letter.
>There was only one thing worth coming into the chamber to see. Gait crouched down and looked at the last page of the book, the expanse of stiff paper untouched but for three marks.
At the top of the page, in an antiquated hand that made the letters barely recognisable, the signature of Beleusa Phrax. And below it...
>below it, a single letter, written down the dead centre of the page with five beautiful, elegant strokes of a nib: a cross-slashed letter "I."
>And below that, a little mark, a smudge, a dot on the page. Looking at it, as always, Gait seemed to feel the air shudder around him, growing close and thick as though before a storm. He stayed there for nearly an hour, crouched before the case that held the Phrax Charter, staring with meditative intensity at the page and the twofold mark that signed it: the I of Imperator and the single pressed-in drop of blood
Pretty damn valuable. And that's just his autograph.
how do you create and keep track of your setting?
A degree of originality and creativity is needed, but judging by your post these things are already out of your grasp.
with ease
Notebooks motherfucker! Write that shit down!
Hey /tg/, long time lurker, new to PnP rpgs so forgive me for being ignorant.
Why the hell do people say rouges instead of rogues? I have a GM who keeps referring to my character as a rouge, and it's taking everything in my soul to not yell "It's rogue for fucks sake!"
Seriously though, am I missing something? Are they the same thing or not?
>>51323907
No, rouge is makeup, rogue is a scoundrel.
>>51323926
It's also the color red in french. I know a lot of things that it is, just not why so many people write rouge, repeatedly, even when the correct spelling is right in front of them
>>51323907
The modern education system doesn't teach English language skills in the same way previous generations learned it, and now most people don't have any idea about spelling any word that isn't suggested by autocorrect on their phones.

How do you do this kind of bbeg well? What makes Int+Charisma villains good when they come off as lazy?
Jabba the Hut but with a giraffe neck and a human face.

You're creating a false dilemma here. The two things are in no way related to one another.

So I've been trying to get good at Yugioh. Key word trying. It's the hardest fucking children's card game you will ever lay eyes on. I could probably more easily lift heavy weights, throw a ball, and become a pro athlete than win a tournament of Yugioh. You think Magic the cuckoldery requires strategy? You don't know what it's like to by the skin of your teeth avoid OTK and live long enough to get raped in three turns.
Which got me to thinking about how it's almost as if Konami wanted Yugioh to be a miniature game rather than a card game. Archetypes are so situaitonal and vacuumed that they play out like an army's specific codex.
Then that got me to thinking about Yugioh's "lore" and how much emphasis there is on demons, parallel dimensions, and metaphysics... which puts into perspective why this game is so bad.
Yugioh is The Warp.
What I mean is everything that is Yugioh exists inside The Warp. I noticed that today as I was playing and using my dragon deck of Doom Virus and Mirror Force Dragon which my opponents called "Cancer Dragons" and I said Papa Nurgle blesses me with longevity as it took them 38 fucking turns to figure out a way around my Trump wall of field wiping.
Six Samurai? Clearly the whankery of some powerful astartes chapter turned heretical. Same goes for Black Luster Soldier. Even sounds like Emperor's Children in being these glorious bastards of elitism.
Double Twisters and Mystic Space Typhoons everywhere. Warp storms.
XYZs are supposed to be "anti-matter" which is unstable and parasitic on it's need for materials. This shit is motherfucking Chaos. Yugioh is what happens when Chaos "wins" at the end of the 41st millenium.

10/10. This post is a work of art.

Maybe in the sense that it's broken as shit and there are too many damned cards.

If Kain was a cyborg this whole time then all of his posturing about free will and choice for 5 games was meaningless
I heard the people who made the Witcher video games are going to turn this into a video game.
Is this system any good? Have any of you actually played it before? How does it measure up
>>51321507
It's a product of the 1980s, meaning it has medium-simple rules with some awkwardness.
The setting is very neon, big-hair, synthwave 80s, which seems kind of outdated but at the same time retro is in now so it might work for you.
It's worth trying, at the very least. It's one of my favorite games.
>>51321991
How does it stack up against GURPS and Shadowrun?
>>51322595
less rules than both and no magic. Pure cyberpunk stuff.

How much do you fucking bench?
A thread for all those question you might have but you don't feel deserve their own thread.
Let's start with mine: Why are demons depicted with triangle or spade tipped tails?
>>51321108
Probably some medieval artist intended to draw him with a lion's tufted tail or similar, but drew a simplified/stylized version that looked like a spade, and then other artists copied that depiction without realizing what it was supposed to be.
Or something like that. It's the kind of thing that happens.
>>51321140
Much like "scale mail"? It makes a surprising amount of sense.
>>51321108
Because demons are depicted to be dragons. And dragons have them too.
And it symbolise a pike so a deadly tail is even more dangerous.
If dragons are so long lived then they ought to have extremely old accents from whenever they learned the common or (insert language here) but would a dragons speech, even in the same language, on average be so old that it cant be understood?
i mean except for red dragons, no one can understand the welsh anyways.
>>51320878
What do you think draconic is? Back in the day it was common.
This is also why old scrolls and spell books are in "draconic"
>>51320932
/thread
accents can and do change depending on the surrounding accents.
