Feng Shui and Final Stand are both contemporary by default, and I'm currently running a modern LotW game so it transfers over pretty well.

Might as well link Final Stand, it's a really fun little beer and pretzels martial arts game that I'm not sure you can actually find anywhere online anymore.

the problem is 1:48 stuff is much larger than 40k vehicles, so the figures scale, but not parts.

Not always; 28mm is 1:56, and model manufacturers have a surprising amount of swing in scale. It's something you want to treat on a case by case basis. I'm sure you could make OP's pic work (I'd probably swap the handles for something closer to scale, or mount some sensors to it to make it look remotely controlled).

It's an interesting idea, but my question is why? Slapping armour and martial weapons on the monk kind of defeats the purpose of being a monk in the first place. Elegant courtier gets a little bit of extra use but beyond that it doesn't really make any sense when you've got a perfectly good fighter right there.

I'm all for an African inspired fantasy game, but it doesn't tell me anything of what the game is or why it's significant beyond it having an unusual setting, which isn't nearly enough to make it worth my time on its own.
