share D&D 5e home-brews, check out & give feedback on mine.
Will dump martial characters in the meantime
On a slightly related note: Is 5e still the current D&D version and what are your experiences with it? (Especially in comparison with 3.5/4e.)
Filename thread anyone?

You are the Emperor of Mankind. Your designs have gone terribly wrong, and instead of creating pri[m]archs you have instead generated pri[f]archs.
Determined to make the best of a bad situation, you take one as your waifu. Which one do you pick and why?

I'm not going to fuck my daughter, anon. I'll just use my prifarchs like I would have used primarchs.
So this just happened in my last session
>be me, DM homebrew campaign
>party finds chest in gnoll dungeon
>lots of magic items, bag of dust included
say dust looks orange, and looks tasty
>cleric snorts it
>canningmyself.gif
>cleric looks concerned
>it's fucking dry dust
>cleric shrivels up
>human raisin
>dies
don't sniff strange powder kids
New greentext thread as the other seems to be approaching bump limit.
>Be DM
>Phrase item description as if it's completely safe
>Player dies immediately upon using it, without any save of any kind.
>Man I'm such a good DM right guys?
Why would he snort it??

What are some unusual variants on the vampire from various cultures? I know about those chinese vampires that had to count things, but what else is out there? Seems like a lot of cultures independently developed the vampire legend, after all.
>>51326006
>Seems like a lot of cultures independently developed the vampire legend, after all.
it's almost like " our women are seduced into premarital sex with a foreigner who parasitically drains society dry while spreading his culture at the expense of ours" is an issue that all humans inherently understood and had beef with
There's the Scottish Baobhan sith I suppose. Not terribly different from the mundane vampire.
They're often more succubus-like in that in some tales, rather than sucking blood, they suck the libido out of a man making him impotent.
Sometimes they have deer hooves for some reason. They're also scared of horses.
>>51326006
Balkan vampires are sentient but genocidal, drink blood endlessly and as they become more powerful, they start bloating and turning into a sickly shade of pink. Oh, and confusing them using people or trinkets of their time alive has them go into a frenzy. If they meet the item that caused their confusion during daybreak, they get cured of their vampirism.
Also, sunlight doesn't kill them, just turns them into normal corpses, they turn after sudden non-vampire related death and they can't traverse holy ground (can't enter a church, but if they get put inside it, they can't exit it)Babuska said some fucked up fairytales

I don't Nagash cared about that at the time since he had an entire area containing a huge meteor of Warpstone all to himself. He only lost access to it because he was destroyed and the Skaven mined it all while he was regenerating.
Does anybody even play RoR here?

>Why can't The Empire use High Magic? Horx learned it and the Empire went to the trouble or making sure it has teaching in all the lores so weaving it all together isn't implausible.
All magic is inherently corruptive, and humans are easily corrupted. Even if humans could handle it, humans have lifespans near-infinitely shorter than elves, and learning High Magic takes centuries.
When The Empire was being taught magic after centuries of witch-hunts, it was quickly realized that humans have neither the time nor the ability to resist chaos, so in order to boil it down to something humans can handle, the Colleges were set up the way they are. While wizards will still be affected by practicing magic, they will only be affected by that one wind, in relatively predictable ways, and they only have to learn to resist the temptations and fluctuations from that one wind.
Horx didn't learn jack shit. He peered into the Book of Volans and his mind was instantly shattered, and he proceeded to shart arcane spaghetti all over Altdorf until someone put a bullet in his temple. There was probably Dhar all over the place for weeks. The only confirmed human being to ever practice anything resembling Qhaysh was Supreme Patriarch Volans, and he couldn't actually use Qhaysh himself; he could merely perceive the winds as they truly were, but he was fully aware that any attempt on his part to actually weave the winds together would end in disaster.
And he was likely the greatest, most adept and perceptive human wizard to ever live, with a prophetic knowledge of the nature of the winds of magic rivalling Teclis himself, despite being only about 50 when he first met Teclis. Saying that the Empire has Colleges for all the Winds of Magic and that they therefore should be able to weave them all together is like me giving you 8 separate strands of yarn and say that you should be able to make a carpet.

>>51243645
No links in OP?
The threads have been slowing down a lot. I recommend not having another general unless someone actively has a question/idea.
Everyone should probably take this chance to download the PDF for the next time we do have a thread, though.
>>51243645
Im looking for a system to do Aliens or Deadspace type of Space Horror. Would gurps be a good system for that or is there a system that can pull off Sci-Fi horror that can transition into Action Sci-Fi Horror?
Not sure if this is the best place but it's /tg/ related and you guys do art request threads once in a while so fuck it. Can I get the picture on the left redone to look like the style on the right?
>>51371700
Try a drawfag thread. I don't think anyone is going to make you a free picture of the quality on the right, though.
Probably not, but worth a shot. Is there a drawfag thread currently active?
>>51372041
post your old memes and I might say
Sorry to bother you /tg/ but could I get a list of your preferred science fiction rpg's that aren't 40k? A buddy asked and I listed a bunch off but he seemed on the fence.
I'd like to him a proper list to review, but preferably one vetted by experienced, reasonable and knowledgeable people.
Lacking that, you'll do.
Persay, this ain't a RPG but Warframe serves as a good universe.
In addition, Asimov's Foundation Series is just fantastic.
>>51370906
Oh and as an additional note,
RIFTS
Freaking awesome.
Just make sure you only get the books you need (like the russian one, that one's great)

I loved this game. We'd always play as coalition grunts and commandos with one or two special forces thrown in. Playing under powered characters in a works of MDC damage and aliens and cyber knights made it fun and you really got invested in your characters. The system: ehh. The concept and world: pretty badass
Ive been musing on the idea of making a game for my players based on the world and plot of axiom verge.
drop them into an unknown world with bio mechanical future tech, cut away all forms of identifiable life and replace them with giant AI or monsters.
Then send them about a labyrinthian interconnected world where new pathways will become available as time goes on.
based off the metroid series of course, this would best be lent to a metroid system, are there any good ones? or should i just use something like GURPS
would you guys have any tips to help me out, anything like
- good system
- experience youve had with worlds like this with no human interaction
- mystery and secrets the players find out over time
honestly whats gonna be toughest is setting and environment, getting into the feel of a bio tech world
Thread's probably gonna fall, but still, marking it in case some good art appears.
(and I too would like to hear about how to run such a desolate setting)
>>51371471
good idea, I'm gonna bump with some inspirational art
Just had an idea: take the desolation further. There's no Athetos. No human. All humans are long dead.
You are the Rusalki, ancient biotechnological wonders. Part war/science machines, part actual self-aware beings.
The problem is, everything's long dead. Civilization collapsed a thousand years ago, their labs, factories, tools and computers with them. The most advanced information storage failed as it was never meant to run that long without update or maintenance. So did much of your memory, motion functions, communication and so on.
What's left are the little drones that do all the menial shit. Something somehow woke you (some of you?) up and you had enough power/awareness to get the bots running and repair the rudimentary systems. You're alive, for now.
The problem is, restoring full-body motor functions is either outright impossible with existing tech base, or you're buried beneath centuries of fused rubble and have more pressing matters. Basically, the little bots are your only way to look at the world, manipulate it, and communicate (at least until you manage to get the main comm unit online).
So, PCs as immobile "bases", everything done through shitty little worker drones. What changes? Good idea? Gimmick that does nothing but hassle? Potentially fun but needs improvement (how?)?

Pic related. It's probably just nostalgia, or the desire to make a group like that old one that struck gold, but I honestly don't think there's a better place on the net to discuss these hobbies than here.

>>51371091
Shhhh, I'm trying to ease Mr.OP in.
Even if it was something you'd concocted as a GM and they had followed through, explain it simply. Or, alternativley, if you were a player and want to share the retarded shit your group pulled that miraculously worked. A paragraph at most, at least a sentence. Your victory? However many (You)s your post causes. I'll start.
My party stole a vault from underneath a bank after blowing two separate holes in the bank, and crashed the three-story cube of a vault into a space station when their escape plan failed. They then flung it onto a cruise liner and had cocktails after.
The party was told to get a ring, supposed to get a ring from a goblin clan. Two character change, one character intro, and a death later, the two party casters tried to kill each other. Lvl 4 is underbar.

Giant attack, went to rescue the princess, our chaos goblin cleric ate the Rangers finger, and I teleported the princess out of the Giants flying castle sans other players. They got to pretend to be princesses.
Go to city to create a new life for self.
Create army of undead servants to protect city from ravages of time traveling self from future-past hell bent on stopping me from saving the city for some reason. Kill self. Save city. People turn on me. Kill them all, go mad, fulfill prophecy by recreating chronomancy and becoming bbeg.
