Now we all know the man is shit posting, and we all know it isn't going to go down like that. They won't kill it like fantasy, it's still doing decent, but it is being outsold by AoS, and they are planning big shake ups for 8th ed, which is coming either at the end of this year or the beginning of the next. Got it straight from the source. Guy i know who works for gw is going to be going in for play testing this week. It is going to get a massive rules overhaul so that it more closely resembles AoS's simpler easier to get into style in order to lower the entry barrier, and they are already working on figuring out how to do it and do it well. I'm excited actually. I'm hopeful that it will help balance things out and cut down on all the cheese.

It's silly, but Runescape's whole deal with "food heals you, potions are inefficient" is silly but fun. Let's replace the cure potion series with cheaper alternatives for martials:

Cure Light becomes a beef soup. Cure Moderate becomes a steak and potato plate. Cure Serious becomes a three course meal. Cure Critical is literally eating sharks. Heal would be represented by bacon. Etc., etc.

Also, Pizza could become multi-use buffs, i.e like wands, but with fewer charges and more potent effects.

Even greater demon cant face totan weapon, a deamon would be annihilated before entering the black hole. also due to relativity and gravity by the time your demon ""enter"" the black hole it would not be warhammer 40000 but warhammer 999999999999.

I think most superhero settings are pretty cool. What I find fascinating are the settings which were created to intentionally mimic comic book universes without ever actually being one.

Sentinels of the Multiverse has become one of my favourite in that respect, since despite being a board game franchise they have a surprising amount of lore, character and continuity backing it all up, along with faux-comic pages for various events. It's really nice when someone puts in the effort into a background and setting even if it might not be entirely necessary.

A superhero setting kind of has to be based around superhero comics (or spinoff media like movies) to be a superhero setting. There's merit in exploring things going differently, but is a tabletop setting really the avenue for that? Even if I wanted to play a game based in a setting that looks at how superheroes would go in a different way, I'd rather just play in the Watchmen setting or something than something unrecognizable.

Actually, an RPG set in Watchmen sounds amazing, so thanks for that.
