>The BBEG has obtained the power of nuclear fusion
>>51625690
the clear answer here is to swing your sword so hard that you split the fused atoms to deny him this power
>>51625690
Luckily, some good guy has been expecting it for centuries
>>51625690
>nuclear fusion
so...he controls a star? underpowered in some settings.
Hey guys, I'm running a D&D campaign where my players are choosing to fight in a war against other kingdoms for control of the realm. I have most of their sessions made up for the rest of the campaign but I want some suggestions on how to really throw them off. These players are the type of people that plan out the boss fights as soon as they learn the details of the boss, for example The rogue got himself successfully fired out of a cannon and used a parachute to safely get to the top of a mansion for a stealth entrance while the necromancer and ranger used a cannon to bust down the wall that the boss was behind. They won the fight taking only minor damage. I want to mess with them without completely screwing them over. Any suggestions? Pic above is the map of the area.
>>51625226
Can you give some examples of planned encounters you have? What sort of jobs will they be doing for the army their working with?
>>51625345
Right now the 4 players have already planned out their jobs as the leaders of the army, diplomacy, training, trading, etc., some of the encounters I have planned out is a camp of barbarians that they will have to defeat the leader to gain the trust, some other towns that will not help them no matter what to dull down their power, the big task is to be ready to fight when needed, they have 2 towns backing them now and about 20 troops, meanwhile the other armies are up in the 6000s. There are also some spy towns I have that will be selling their information to other armies, the main problem I'm having is that they plan extremely well, and believe me I love that. But I also feel like it's not as much of a challenge for them. Along with all of this they only really have 1 mage on their side, and it's one of the players.
>>51625415
Fuck em up with magic?
Lure them into offers of trades or troops and ambush them?
The enemy maybe has assassins or magical items at their disposal to give them an edge?
Natural occurrences that are hard to predict like weather?
All this stuff could halt them.
>the demon king is actually invading the mortal realms just to get away from his well meaning, but controlling, parents
>>51624515
Alternatively, much like Krauser, he never meant to invade the mortal realms and just keeps accidentally doing it through a mix of bizarre coincidences and extreme clumsiness.
>>51624679
That is pretty much the plot of Overlord now.
>>51624515
Are you stupid or something, bitch? Krauser-san killed both of his parents when he was born and then raped the corpses

Wow, what an original thread. No one has ever posted this before ever. You're so smart OP.
>>51623863
The Emperor is more powerful psyker than the Orks, if he can't reanimate himself the Orks can't.
Think anon.
>10000 years ago, the Four Legendary Heroes used the Orbs of Eternal Light to seal away the Thousandfaced Demonking forever...
>>51623784
After their work was complete, the Heroes sealed away the Orbs, the Orb of Water to the north, the Orb of Fire to the south, the Orb of Earth to the west, and the Orb of Wind to the east.

>After this event the heroes separated, each going his own way and to found his own kingdom.

His walking around is objectively the best part of this whole thing. The awesome hat comes in second and his mumbling/crazy stare rounds out the top reasons to watch it.
Also, incest is wincest.
So I've had a curious situation for a while now, /tg/, and I was wondering if anyone could give some input on this. Whenever I play with my usual group, I tend to end up playing the "main character".
What I mean by that is that the character ends up being the one that drives the plot, has the most interaction with the world, and the other characters tend to follow them wherever they go/give them the role of party leader. I've brought this up with the other players, and they all seem a-okay with it. Even the GM acknowledges it, and seems okay with it. It just feels odd sometimes, so I was wondering if anyone else has this occur in their games.
tl;dr - Do your parties have main characters?
>>51623468
We tend to rotate the spotlight and attention as needed by whose backstory/plot is being focused on.
Which, I assume, is what everyone should be doing.
>>51623489
I'm used to hearing that as being the norm, and for most groups I GM, I make sure everyone gets equal time at being the focus.
>>51623468
It happens a lot. You're the most assertive roleplayer in the group - I'm guessing you tend to be decisive and be the one most ready to commit to a course of action. You're probably the best writer or speaker of the group, able to quickly formulate and lay out a plan for what to do, so you tend to say it before others could. Over time this becomes an expectation and then a self-fulfilling expectation. I'd be willing to bet money you play the party face.
As long as nobody at the group feels stifled or shut out I wouldn't worry about it. Not everyone wants to be on point.
Thoughts on Savage Worlds? There was a thread about it a few days ago and it piqued my interest.
I've been looking for a system that does a bit of everything but I don't always want to run something super narrative like FATE.
If I do end up using it, are there any tips to keep in mind as a game master?
>>51622683
Ive played with the idea of putting a cap on exploding damage dice. I don't hate the concept but sometimes it can really fuck over your players.
I once tpk'd a fantasy game with a fucking giant crab. Wasn't even a Wild Card
horribly boring game system
uninteresting
>>51622759
How is the fantasy book? I've got Horror, Supers, and Sci-Fi.
Ok, many long-living monsters like Dragons often hoard various treasures - gold, coins, gems, etc - throughout their lifespan. How wouldn't it break economy when heroes kill the monsters and pour said pile of treasures on market one day?
Is there some kind of Jew-Dragon conspiracy behind fantasy market economy?
>>51622493
>How wouldn't it break economy when heroes kill the monsters and pour said pile of treasures on market one day?
Depends on the GM.
>>51622493
Pretty sure gold standard fuedal economics work a bit differently from modern ones.
More important question, what if the dragon hoarded hot bitches instead of gold. Get bitch, break bitch in, make bitch imortal. Rinse and repeat. Pcs slay the dragon and then find its massive harem of scantily clad beauties.
>>51622926
>Pretty sure gold standard fuedal economics work a bit differently from modern ones.
Feudal economics didn't work on the gold standard. There was no real standard, metal value variation was all over the place. The gold standard is an early modern invention.
>>51622493
Read up on Mansa Musa's Hajj for an idea of how you can absolutely fuck up an economy by dropping a ton of new coinage in it. Or about the inflation Spain got hit by after the treasure fleets started coming in.

What if the reason all sorceresses and witches are women while all shamans and wizards are men...
Is because only women have innate magical abilities while men have to have spirits help them and learn magic?
>>51622433
>all shamans and wizards are men
[citation needed]
No, sorceresses are all women because it means woman sorceror you dolt. All sorceresses are women but not all sorcerors are. Fag.
>>51622603
I have never seen any media where a wizard was a woman or a witch was a man.
Have you ever ran a highly lethal, horror dungeon where the focus is on avoiding its abominably powerful inhabitants and getting away with the treasure?
>>51621752
No but I will be offering something like this later on in a campaign I'm making. Hopefully it works out lol
How would you convince the players not to try fighting the enemies anyway? I don't think it's possible.
Stat them
No, seriously. I kinda want to use the Qu for a thing
Can equip gun on dick
I feel like Qu are one of the types who benefit from being mysterious, terrible and unknowable, really. I don't know if making them something you can kill is a great idea.
>>51620899
That would require knowing what system you want to use them with ya dildo.
