No, in oWoD, God (the Old Testament one) is pretty much the supreme authority and creator force in the setting. Everything that's happened, everything that exists, is because he either made it or allows it. I know a lot of folks will take this to just kickstart another "No, my splat is more powerful than yours" but honestly, God isn't part of the splat, he's just the entity that literally made it all and is above it all.

For example, a lot of people seem to forget that once upon a time the Garou were angels.

I think a lot of people rebel against this part of oWoD because they're not fond of the Christian faith, so they project ways to somehow 'beat' God at his own game, which isn't something you can do, because this isn't even like the thing with the "You lose" sheet that Caine got, this is just plain no go ground.

Rewatching the last airbender, I was simply stunned how imaginative fights were. In Korra, it was usually limited to FIRE PUNCHES and EARTH kicks.

I'd like to request a picture of my human artificer. He's in his early-to-mid twenties, with a strong jawline and short hair (A). He's wearing a heavy canvas duster (B) on top of a gold-engraved silver breastplate (C), which is in turn on top of a heavy padded shirt (D). His gauntlets (E) and greaves (F) have the same pattern and palette as the breastplate.

Finally, he wields a magitech-looking Thunder Cannon, like a hollow version of the steampunk rifle from G, with a floating crystal (H) evident in the hole. The hand on the opposite side from the gun should have a much larger, steampunkier gauntlet (I).

have you seen how autistic people are about regular fantasy settings? Can you imagine how much bullshit you'd have to go through to justify fantasy bullshit in the "real" world? Not to mention that everyone is suddenly going to have their own interpretation of how X is supposed to work in real life.

I can't even think of any successful examples that don't require the audience to just kinda assume "it's magic, this setting is the real world with no logic or internal consistency". Maybe Discworld, but that's by no means modern, just regular fantasy with modern style writing.

We really need to figure out how to shut down that f-list chatroom so that the people there stop coming here already.
