It's the future of space. The space government wants to encourage people to colonize new planets, but the new planets are by definition less nice than existing tamed planets. You can send robots ahead to make a city in advance, but how do you encourage millions of normal people to abandon their current lives and move across light years?

If spells count as a 'conventional' method, I agree generally.
Ideally, demons of great power should be defeated by shining the light of the noonday sun reflected by a mirror of pure gold on them or something awfully specific like that.
You shouldn't have to use magic to do it, but it should be a real pain to accomplish. Like bringing together exactly a thousand grains of red sand or something.

Starting a pirate campaign today, and looking for music suggestions. I have a bunch of shanties and some stuff to help set the scene, but I don't have anything to play in the back ground.

Also going to do an image dump to bump the thread, feel free to contribute.

I'm assuming you're not looking for sea shanties if this is just background music. I usually just use Spotify and play "traditional (insert country) instrumental music" for my campaigns. I don't know what your group is like but it might be fun to sneak in the pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack in while they're not paying attention

Why is the magic banned? D&D isn't a setting where casting spells inherently corrupts your soul or has a chance of summoning a bazillion demons if you fuck up. And frankly it's too damn useful.

So the most obvious reason why magic would be banned and the ban could actually be enforced is if it's religious or ideological in nature, and enforcers are either full of holy magic, psions or can reliably disable magic (and if your whole town is within an anti-magic field, a ban might be a waste of time anyways).

Maybe send an inquisitor to the smaller towns surrounding the capital to live like the lord of the town and make sure they don't cast spells under his nose /spoiler/they do/spoiler/

Remember that Dragon Ball tabletop system /tg/ worked on a while back? We're going to run a game with it, online, but we need players. We need you.

Game will be set in U15, an indeterminate amount of years prior to its destruction by Zeno. This is to give us a lot of room to explore, and make unique sagas without tying in U7 characters or plot elements. If interested - email, or add Nethym#5251 on discord.

We're doing 500xp, you can spend max 350 on attributes and max 150 on ki skills to reign it in somewhat. Saga would roughly be closest to Piccolo Jr powerwise I think?

Cool! You don't need to know much since we're basing the game in the setting, but not using any characters or stories from the series so limited exposure is totally fine.

We're planning to do voice, 2 players 1 GM so far, shooting for 4 players.

Melee and Myriad both trigger when you declare the creature as an attacker, and since both triggers are yours you can put them on the stack in the order of your choosing.

The bad news is that Melee checks how many opponents you attacked, and the tokens are created already attacking. They weren't declared as attackers, so they don't count towards Melee.

It wants to enter with one counter, but there's two replacement effects trying to apply to that event. You control the affected object (the Walker) so you choose which to apply first. No matter which you apply first, the other one can still apply, so you apply it next, and the end result is the same: 3 counters.

One will replace "enters with one counter" with "enters with one plus one counters", for two counters. The other replaces "Enters with two counters" with "enters with two plus one counters", for three counters.

Usually thats enough to decide that matters to a certain group and it helps define the different peoples in my world.

Because i think it can help to say "what do people in the setting thinking of X"
Then you can say, yes they are being presented that way, but maybe there are interesting reasons beyond the aforementioned conflict for why people see them that way, or maybe you subvert it and the public perception is incorrect.

If you wanted to go really far, you could make a matrix of every group, and write down what each group thinks of each other group.
Because it not only helps define what a group is like due to how others think of them, but it also helps define how a certain group thinks.
Maybe group X is super Xenophobic, so their perception of every group in the matrix is negative. Or w/e.

now that the ultramarines primarch is back are we going to see the return of more primarchs with models?

My prediction is yes and next on the list is going to be the lion, remember he never recieved a forgeworld primarch model and is technically still alive much like guilliman was.

I feel like the only reason they brought back the ultramarines primarch first is because he is basically like a second emperor.

Hey /tg/. I turn to you with a request for help.

Drunkenly have I agreed to DM a heroic fantasy campaign. My skills are rusty as fuck since it's been years since my last dice throw.

So I am in a hurry to cobble up together an adventure. It is expected to be cheesy and cliche following all the troupes of the genre. So burly barbarians and chainmail bikini clad bimbos running through ancient ruins filled with forgotten monsters and precious treasures.

That being said, I do not intend to go about it half-heartedly, so I would appreciate some constructive advice/criticism.

Since my players and I have our experience in 3.5, that will be our system of choice. I am aware of the overwhelming splat book explosion and would like to selectively choose only the bits necessary.

So please give me some advice in that regard.

What do you do for atmosphere, as soundtracks go ?

Should I use some of the map builders flowing around to visualize the places or my normal plexiglass battle grid would suffice ?

Would you recommend using pre-made adventures or that would cheapen the experience ?

So if you have any input on how to properly Conan the Barbarian I would be glad If you can assist.

I am the GM for my very first adventure that I am going to be in change off. But I have some doubts about my adventure, so please give me some constructive criticism about it.

Here's what I have planned:
A Druidic circle that has been keeping watch over a tainted area of the kingdom have reported that the dark necromantic taint has started to spread, and they fear that a lingering presence of a long dead necromancer has resurfaced. And the PC's are then tasked to enter the tainted area and find the source of it's spread.
So I plan on throwing zombies as the primary enemies for the party, until the encounter a necromancer in an abandoned keep.

My immediate reaction is that you need more variety. Even 2 zombie fights in a row start to get stale. Try thinking up some fucked-up plantlife for them to fight. Refluff a bear as a zombie-bear and throw it at them.
Also zombies (depending on number) might be a little easy for 4 lvl.3 players.
How many sessions are you planning for this to go on for?
