Anyone know of any good carry cases for miniatures? Just like everything at GW it's too fucking expensive.
feldherr is rather good, but it's soft not hard case
>>52157845
Is it cheaper?
>>52157882
yeah, I guess. There are also way more variants to choose from, I believe you'll find one that fits your needs
Do you do cutaways to other scenes while DMing? Like, after a fight or some plot event describe events happening elsewhere that the PCs don't know about?
As a player, what's your opinion on your DM doing this shit?
>>52157565
Never. The players know what the PCs know. In fact, I start all my games that have new people with a little spiel about what methods of communication I use from GM to player, and their various differing levels of reliability. But I wouldn't simply tell them that something is going on in some place without them having some in universe reason to know what's going on over there.
>As a player, what's your opinion on your DM doing this shit?
I don't want to categorically say it's stupid, but you'd have to work pretty hard to come up with a reason for that shit.
>>52157565
You revealing important setting developments or plot information is almost always a good idea. But there's a difference between you presenting this information as GM fiat (ie this is how it is), and through the filter of character perspective, told to them from other npc characters who may be somewhat misinformed, exaggerating, biased, lying, or just plain wrong.
The latter is what you want to be doing, because it is more realistic in terms of what gossip is like, and because it spurs serious debates and conversations and roleplaying, and makes them try to figure out what is reliable and isn't and understand the motivations and capabilities of the npcs around them.
That said, if one of the PC's is some sort of oracle or diviner, then them having visions of far away places and conversations from another time or place is perfectly cool too, as long as it's limited.

This. Newspapers, town criers, TV, internet, wizards, etc.
I especially like fucking with the players by telling them there's a werewolf loose in the next time so they prepare for a werewolf fight, but it's actually just a really really messy vampire with really messy feeding habits.
Or it turns out that it wasn't a fire-breathing dragon, but a poison-breathing dragon. The guy who ran burning out of the dragon's den just lost control of his limbs as the toxins began interfering with his nervous system and he set himself on fire with his own torch.
You can tell a lot about a man from the kind of burger he eats.
What kind of burger would your character eat, /tg/?
An American meat burger.
100% American meat. Human meat. Long pig. Although I guess in America it's better called Wide pig.

First off, swarm factions zerg, nids, B.E.T.A, rachni and so forth) seem to exclusivly improve their "tech" through ever inceasingly potent combat animals as opposed to any application of the more basic weaponry that gets used by everyone else. I see no reason for why advanced alien bugs would not be willing to construct/integrate conventional-ish anti-air defenses or scavenge from enemy stockpiles.
>Gaunts equiping themselves with bolters and opening fire during charge or the zerg comendering a terran ship after making a breach.
>>52149476
Genestealers and infested terrains
Read into stuff a bit more.
Still OP has a good point we don't see too much of that stuff.
>>52149476
Genestealer Cults are just that, but afterwards it's the bugs proper that come in and their own superior* biomorphs.
Zerg are also known for utilizing infestation as a means of subversion, taking control of important individuals or even just a basic grunt depending on their circumstances. In some cases attaching tiny brain bugs that control the host, rather than turning the whole body into a zerg.
For biologically advanced organisms, their own means of production and supply lines trend towards the organic in nature, and they've already developed supply lines to keep those going to supply their needs. Utilizing enemy equipment is opening yourself up to sabotage, and asking for a quick discard because you're likely not carrying any extra ammo for it, nor would you be able to supply such weapons with ammo without extensive overhaul of how you manufacture your tools of war or have captured a good supply of such weapons, which is exactly what genestealers do because they can grow only basic biomorphs.
It depends on how a faction is portrayed. Zerg and Tyranids are seen not simply as bugs, but as viral infections or infestations. Rachi, at least, are much more like ants and are a more relatable Hive than a viral infestation.
>*not represented on tabletop
>>52149476
>Genestealers only work as well as they do because the imperium can't seem to root them out for shit. Regular sci-fi faction would detect and kill this stuff the instant they discover the horror babies.
>Infested terrains
Literally just zombies and are wasted biomass that could be used to morph better things.
Instead of either of these how about creating pest creatures(s) to with behaviours specialized to countering extermination.
>A rat- equivlent creature that deals in gestating pathogens & spawning other swarm creatures.
>Would seek out a thing, excrete a given pathogen (zombie virus in grains, shortfuse chemical trigger in oil) While the rat leaves to go cause mischief elsewhere or breed more rats or spawn other swarm creatures..
The fastest and cheapest FTL method involves traveling through enormous wormhole gates.

Humanity ARE the kikes since the setting involves space-time folding in on itself through alternate dimensions in such a way that humanity is superimposed on historical groups.
Is there really a point to using classes anymore?
They're hard to balance properly, they force you into very narrow range of specializations, a lot of the fluff pigeonholds you into specific archtypes like the grizzled war veteran or the pious paladin, and more often than not there isn't really a point to having two characters that are the same class because they're going to play exactly the same as one another.
God forbid you try multi-classing though, because most of the time the benefits you get from taking on multiple classes is not enough to alleviate the weakness of sucking in two different areas of expertise and the fact that in order for it all to work, you'd need to start off with a high enough level to get the good stuff by default.
Even in systems that pull off classes well, it still pales in comparison to skill based systems like ShadowRun where your overall utility as an individual is dependent on what skills you know, rather than what archtype you decided to be.

>Is there really a point to using classes anymore?
Yes: fun.
You don't enjoy them, though. So you should play games that don't use them.
Trying to convince others that your version of fun is objectively superior, though, is objectively lame.

Would /tg/ be opposed to a system where instead of generic rolling to-hit, you roll 3d6 on a table with hit locations depending on the defenders species, including missing entirely?
Also, there would be no HP. If that location is hit the attacker rolls damage and if the part is doesn't have damage reduction to reduce the damage roll to 0 that part is broken/severed or otherwise rendered unusable for that battle. Head damage would range from being knocked out to just dying instantly.
To balance it out and make it less lethal, before damage is rolled you could block with your shield or weapon, at the cost of there being a chance it would break or be flung from your grip.
Fighter type classes would have a skill dice where they could add or subtract to their attack roll to attack a more favorable weak spot.
The pros is that combat would be exciting and lethal and instead of batting at the dragon dozen hit dice until it's finally dead. You either kill/heavily injure it or you don't. Getting a magic dragon slaying weapon would be flavorful and expedite this process as it could reduce the dragons DR on a hit instead of D&D where a magic weapon means it dies in 8 turns instead of 11.
Cons is that the players might also instantly and randomly die. I guess I could fix this by going OSR style where character creation is quick and elaborate backstories is not the design goal.
>>52137074
That sounds interesting, although I'm having a tough time visualising how it would work.
>Cons is that the players might also instantly and randomly die.
Could also mitigate it with a 'fate points' style system where players can burn points to shift damage away from lethality.

Got the preliminary sketches of some commissioned art back yesterday. They're way above expectation. If the final product matches the level of the drafts, I might end up with something professional enough to be Kickstarted.
Is leather "breastplate"+ chainmail skirt the most logical chainmail bikini type setup
>Leather breastplates are affordable and a solid purchase
>chain mail is expensive and somewhat rare
>find/scavenge chainmail
>chest already protected since its logically one of the first places to protect
>decide to protect legs
>not enough to make proper pants
>make skirt instead
>>52128190
If someone is wearing a bikini on an adventure, chainmail or otherwise, logic is obviously less important than aesthetic in the setting and story.
And you know what? That's fine. I am entirely okay with dumb bikini armour and stuff if it's well designed and used appropriately in an over the top fantasy setting. Attempts to justify it just annoy me at this point. It's dumb. Accept that it's dumb, and enjoy it for what it is.
Whatever you need to do to justify your magical realm OP, but that's a nice goddam picture.
>>52128190
Armor bikinis only work if it's 1. A very hot climate where people are gonna be sweating their assess off and 2. Only worn for gladiator/ceremonial fights where the point is to put on a good show with lots of blood, not actual protection.
Dune applied this even further, with gladiators using half-shields that purposefully only projected the force field around half their body, in addition to fighting shirtless with swords.
Wearing an armorkini into a dungeon is stupid. If you want to be scantily clad, pick a caster and fluff your starting outfit as revealing, with Mage Armor it doesn't matter anyways.
How do you like your Sci-Fantasy done?
Weird and wonderful. Blending the absurd, impossible and existential of fantasy with the theoretical limits of what science can accomplish to create something strange and unique to explore.

Senselessly. The year is two-gorillion AD and the world is weird, now. Something happened some time ago, and everyone farms except the cyber-knights fighting dragons. Somewhere out there is the greatest miracle of all: running water.
