Hey man das a pretty good monster
I DM a Super Mario RPG campaign on the side for funsies, using that one ruleset on 1d4chan. Usually just about anything goes as a character, as long as it's at least tangentially related to Mario. As it was announced early last December, it was probably inevitable someone would attempt a fleetingly topical Donald Trump reference. Lo and behold, one of my players wished to play as an orange Kremling from the Northern Kremisphere that wanted to #MakeKremQuayGreatAgain by deporting the kongs. Hell, the guy even went so far as to make an in in-character Twitter out of game. He even tweets mid-game during important events like the real Trump! Perhaps it's the low hanging fruit, but I fucking love it and my friend does it well.
Thus, Ronald Klump was born. Mostly just referred to as Klump.
Now you may have heard of recent stories about a controvercial new Snoop Dogg song. By some sheer freak of a coincidence or /pol/-tier meme magic, Snoop also used "Ronald Klump" for his Trump stand-in. One of my other players noted to me that he had to do a double take when he saw in a headline "Snoop Dogg shoots Ronald Klump". Needless to say, it's giving us a giggle, Klump's player in particular.
What do you guys think? Is a Snoop Kong encounter in order here?
>Snoop Kong throws barrels
>it's not bananas
Also I missed the old SMRPG threads, when can we get a reboot on those?
>>52195440
I miss them too. That art has a familiar style though. Tiberius?

Aye, not me though, I compiled the Bestiary though!

Song of Swords is a a tabletop RPG centered around realistic medieval fightan' with a ludicrous variety of weapons and fighting styles, centered around a dice pool system. It's currently in beta, and can be used for both fantasy and historical games. Kickstarter is happening NOW we are kicking ass baby!
Call of the Void: Ballad of the Laser Whales is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.

Note that the latest version of the game is v1.9.9 but with additional supplements. It's NOT what's currently on Opaque's website, because Jimmy is Jimmy.

Let's see if /tg/ knows dice.
You have a fair d6.
You have paper and a pencil.
You have a calculator that doesn't have a random number function.
You have no other tools.
You need to be able to generate a dX result, where X is anything from 2 to 1000.
Can you use the available materials to do so, and if so how?
>>52194442
What probability distribution?
>>52194442
I proceed to ignore the dice and copy down from memory the statistics on what will happen.
>inb4 the brain was never a listed tool
>>52194442
I'm going to assume that we can use super annoying, long solutions.
1. Determine number of digits in die you're emulating
2. Roll 1d6, rerolling if you roll a six, multiply by 2. Treat a 10 as a 0.
3. Roll 1d6. If even, add add 1 to your prior result.
4. You now have a 0-9, emulating a d10. Repeat 2-3 for each digit of your target die. If you roll over your target for any given digit, simply reroll until you're not over.
What does /tg/ think about myfarog?
I'm new to tabletop RPGs and I've been thinking of buying it, the setting is cool and seems fairly realistic.
Sorry if I'm braking any rules of the board, I just want to know your opinion about the game and playability.
>>52194387
The only board rule you're breaking is, "UGGGH, not THIS thread again!"
I never managed to get a hold of the full pdf, but the snatches I've seen around (and Varg's hilarious research videos with hi children and his jeep) interested me enough. Could be good, but it's unlikely to say the least.
>>52194416
Well, obviously. This thread isn't an honest inquiry on a RPG, it's a bait that you can, at best, use as a way to generally express your opinion on the topic.

Someone in last thread mentioned Escaflowne, so I have a question.
How can I pilot a semi-giant robot in Pathfinder and not have it be shit? I want to be Large or Huge size max, although I won't say no to being Colossal.

>Born in Galt
>See some shit because Galt
>Paranoia is the order of the day
>Leaves in order to gain the power to "win" once and for all.
A revolutionary bathed in blood, and determined to be the last one standing.
Good:
Galt has been sorely underused in /pfg/ apps, so I['m glad we've got a PC completely embracing the flavor.
The character has an inbuilt way to grow and change, which is something I so rarely see.
Bad:
I see nothing to justify her having levels in Zen Archer. Why does she have them? Not answering this question is a *massively* missed opportunity, especially because she had to be Lawful for 3 levels, before becoming Chaotic.
Yet another "I have no morals and standards, except when I do" type of PCs that gets so, so, over used. If your PC is an amoral thug, make them an amoral thug. Don't take the most cliche cop out imaginable.
As with Lokhar, what virtue does she embody? What has she done to set herself apart?
What are her motivations beyond UNLIMITED POWAH?
>Appeal 4/10, the seed of a good idea is here, but it needs to be developed. Tell us why.
>Backstory 4/10, Galtan flavor is good; lack of anything else is bad.
>Compatibility 7/10 I'm unfamiliar with how Spheres Inquisitor differs from normal, but the skill list, combined with casting, damage, and tanking means she'll fit in just fine. Potential personality conflicts are acknowledged by the player, who wants to work through them.
>Godliness 6/10, this character could be a damn interesting god. The key word there is "could."
Next: TBD!
> oh there's a clue in this building?
> I'll just roll an intelligence check to find the clue
> oh there's a mystery to be solved?
> I'll just roll an intelligence check to solve it
> oh there's a plot afoot?
> I'll just roll an intelligence check to see if I could figure it out
> oh, I just realized my character is way smarter than I am
> I am just going to roll intelligence checks every 30 seconds and have the DM tell me what I should do next
Thoughts?
I think you are dumb.
Your examples show that you don't actually whant any discussion to be had, you just want to be validated.
I let my players use them as an 'out', but only sometimes. They spend a few minutes trying to solve the puzzle, nobody is having fun anymore, they aren't close to getting it, then go for it. Let's keep the game moving.
If they use it to avoid any RP or effort, then I am less inclined to let it slide more than one or two times a session
>>52193561
What do you get out of acting like a retard? What drives this nonsensical behavior?
So I've never DMed before, and have only been playing DnD (5e) for several months, but myself and a friend in the identical situation have decided that we would duo-DM for out next campaign, mostly so our DM can be free from the curse, but also because we have a lot of ideas for this campaign. The thing is, our current DM wants to use pic related instead of DnD, saying DnD isn't really a good system.
After having read through the manual he lent me however, i can't find any fundamental difference. Sure you use cards for initiative, and dmg and skill checks are done slightly differently, but I don't see anything this can do that DnD couldn't. What am I missing? Does he simply not want so much magic so is trying to trick me?
For reference, our campaign is going to be a fantasy pirate setting, so if you know of any good material for like musket varieties or ships I'd appreciate it as well, I've just been looking at what Google points me to
I've been running a no magic medieval Savage Worlds game. I think it's a great system if the DM is burnt out from players not really reading enough to play, which is why I switched my group over. It's also much easier to prepare combat ahead of times and appropriate NPCs can be thrown together on the fly. My biggest issue with it is lack of gear and balanced prices, so I've switched to using some online supplements for that.
Kimberly Chapman equipment list with a little rebalancing is what I use to give my players item variety, a quick Google will bring it up, doesn't have weapons though, for that I use the Pathfinder/3.5 combined equipment book. As far as boat variants, I've got nothing but maybe check out the game Sid Meier's pirates! For different types or a Seventh Sea PDF.
I also don't have minis so we use range bands for combat.
Let me know if you have any questions regarding the system itself though.
>>52193304
I would suggest looking at the Pirates of the Spanish Main book. It is self-contained so you won't need another copy of the rules and is also made to use the Pirates of the Spanish Main pocketmodels, which are just dope. All around decent game and a good jumping off point for a pirate campaign.
>>52194352
So savage world isnt so different from DnD then?
Anyone here play Heroclix? I've never seen this game mentioned on 4chan. Is HCRealms the only website for this in existence other than prostuff?

Which plane has the best flavor and why is it Ravnica?
Ravnica is just Sigil with a slavic themed generic fantasy bent. And most of the slavic touches were dropped by RTR anyway.
Mirrodin has the best flavor.

ah, so it wasn't just my imagination that some names like orzhov or dimir sound a bit russian
So is anybody else actually interested and excited for this or am I alone? Has anybody tried it yet?
